Not too damn bad. From a scientific point of view it was pretty damn decent. It’s much better to do smaller objects as their Astroballistics and their physical interactions with Earth can be far more easily played out. Take a movie such as Deep impact and contrast them. Having a large asteroid or meteorite impacting Eath that’s miles in diameter is far harder. Your talking about a chunk of iron and nickel that’s miles wide traveling at 50-60,000 mph. I’m sure you have seen a shooting star streak across the breadth of the sky in less than a second. The larger ones are moving just as fast as those. So travel time from the outermost atmosphere to ground or sea level is a blink of an eye in some cases. That’s going to be pretty damn hard to realistically re create on the big screen and be entertaining.

Chelyabinsk meteorite - everyone saw how it fall (pretty similar), then exploded and impact on city (it fall far away from city, but anyway wave from it injured over 1600 people).

@@juliap.5375 just the thought of the blast wave being capable to hurt that many people from that high up is quite alarming. and that wasn't even a "big" one.

0:36 when the script says: "you survive the impact's pressure, heat wave and ensuing tsunami by ducking behind your bed." So cute... Required reading before writing the screenplay of this movie: Chelyabinsk meteror blast, for compsrison.

Ever since I saw the Russiam movie Coma I knew, Hollywood is done as cradle of original moviemaking. I don't know if this movie is Russian, everything Cyrillic sounds Russian to me. This movie again proves me right, personally.
