Not too damn bad. From a scientific point of view it was pretty damn decent. It’s much better to do smaller objects as their Astroballistics and their physical interactions with Earth can be far more easily played out. Take a movie such as Deep impact and contrast them. Having a large asteroid or meteorite impacting Eath that’s miles in diameter is far harder. Your talking about a chunk of iron and nickel that’s miles wide traveling at 50-60,000 mph. I’m sure you have seen a shooting star streak across the breadth of the sky in less than a second. The larger ones are moving just as fast as those. So travel time from the outermost atmosphere to ground or sea level is a blink of an eye in some cases. That’s going to be pretty damn hard to realistically re create on the big screen and be entertaining.
