Hi Corey, YES, I'll be installing this whole setup on my 50 foot tower in the coming week. Also will be doing a Meshtastic collaboration with Gabe over at the KZread channel Saveitforparts. We're going to try to do a long distance MQTT interconnection between our nodes.

Only phones within the network can call each other. Keeping it not connected to the public telephone network is what makes it super secure.

Direct TV and all other corporations give me a chuckle when they calculate the loss they incur from pirating as being money they would've received, when most pirates would never give them a dime to begin with. Oh and then assuming that all the pirates would be buying the top end package! Priceless!

I bought 2 Heltec devices with whip antennas. I'm in the middle of NO WHERE and am picking up masts up to 48km away. Now I want to build a solar repeater to extend the range where I live. How much range can I expect (at a high elevation) with an omni VS a directional antenna setup? I'd rather not have to setup up more than one station. Thanks!

My office is in one of three bedrooms on the second floor of my home and after getting rid of cable, I'm using a metal coat hanger antenna placed in one of the other bedrooms that's unfinished and used basically as a storage area. All bedrooms have windows and the coat hanger is near the window in the 'storage' room. I straightened out the hook on the coat hanger and used 320 grit sandpaper to remove any coating on the straight end of the coat hanger. I then simply used a coax connector to connect the cable from the tv to the cable that's connected to the coat hanger. I cut one end of the coax connector off the connecting cable and stripped about 2" off the end, along with the wound grounding wire, leaving the center copper wire, then tightly wrapped the copper center wire around the straight end of the coat hanger and held it in place with electrical tape. Did a channel scan and I'm getting 42 channels including all local channels, all with excellent quality. Sounds like a lot to do but only took about 15 min. Office TV is a cheap 20" Sansui that I don't use much anymore anyway since I'm now retired. But when I'm up here, it's nice to have the company of the TV. BTW, for local channels on my other two TVs (main 55" in living room, 40" in bedroom) I'm using flat HD antennas with excellent results. Both TVs are Roku, so plenty of content without cable. Went from $200+/mo to $39/mo for just internet.
