Loved the "What Are You Looking For" beginning; I'd see a vintage Rick Turner Model 1 and immediately take out a second mortgage . Someday...

My very first guitar was found in a pawn shop on West Bay Street, in Jacksonville ... 1963. A 1954 Stratocaster. Drove past Mock two days ago. Did you guys miss Kevin's?

I would think that a gibson acoustic,, at that price, should be durable enough to not worry about the tempurature fluctuations and such. My grandpa bought a martin guitar around 1970 and travelled everywhere with it, and it is still in perfect condition. But also back then they built them a bit more heavy duty. Now they use scalloped bracing which increases volume and tone, but reduces the strength and regidity of the top a bit. But in the 70s I'm pretty sure they still used regular bracing which would make the top a bit stronger and more rigid.

I see Kaylie is left-handed. Congratulations to her. What does an LP Junior double cut look like with the pick guard removed? Does it leave a 'shadow' where the guard was?

Jimmy Wallace’s feels more like a museum than a guitar shop. Did you buy that blue 339? I might have to go see if they still have it. Tone Shop is the best.

i bought my first strat from here just after the store opened. i then found the same strat from ikeba gakki a few weeks later for way cheaper, with better aftersales support. its way overpriced compared to other stores in the area

Glad to see everyone starting to pay attention to Oklahoma. I’ve lived here all my 28 years of life. The music is alive and well here. You guys need to check out The Blue Door here in Oklahoma City, it was built and owned by a man named Kevin Welch. Saw in 2001 his first show for his top album “Beneath My Wheels” great music and local talent raised at TBD.

I live near Savannah. Sometime in the 90s, Portmans had a used Yamaha SG2000 transparent brown with gold hardware for $350. I almost bought it, but didn't. I regret it to this day! Also, Randy Wood restored my Sears Roebuck Buck Owens acoustic. They were awesome to work with.

As a guitarist resident in Kyoto, I always recommend also checking the used stores, 2nd Street, sometimes you can find some real gems that mean nothing to the shop staff. Enjoyed this video. All the best.

My dad bought me a complete Slingerland kit when I was 7 yrs old. It was metallic green. I played drums with our Choir teacher on piano when we’d go to rest homes and play for the folks. When I turned 13,girls didn’t seem so “ Yucky” anymore and a kit was too much to haul around to impress them so I traded them in on a U.S. Made Epiphone acoustic in 1973,and the rest is history.

Jimmy Wallace is an excellent shop. I bought a heritage custom core h150 there and love it. The guy at 14:01 sold it to me. He’s great! They also have a great luthier that’s fixed two of my guitars.

Don’t understand why you would buy a regular Gibson SG standard ( with shitty pale rosewood board too) and a LP Traditional that can easily be found in the U.S. for probably less money? I would get if they color/finish/spec exclusives for Japan but not for regular ones.
