    Another nice video. What a brilliant idea putting the ship's diagram atop along with an indicator showing your progress as you made your lap. One note: I think on the QM2 the buffet is the King's Court. The Lido Buffet is on the Cunard cruise ships, if I'm not mistaken.

    Nice video--I appreciate seeing parts of the ship as well as some of the rough seas. I had the great joy of making a round-trip crossing on her several years ago in the summertime. It was amazing! One word of advice I always offer to anyone thinking of crossing the Atlantic is to take some warm clothing. Even in August, it can be frightfully cold in the middle of the Atlantic, and if you want to stretch your legs by walking around the promenade deck, you'll really want a warm jacket or sweater (jumper).

    you look wonderful.. i had a blepharolplasty and brow lift...i am in my mid 50's ..i did it because i looked tired all the time... otherwise i look fine.. i forgot to mention that you can make your brows look the same in surgery.. as one eyebrow looks different then the other

  • @curious2travel

    Hi, that's interesting you had the same experience of looking tired all the time. Good to hear you did something about it too. Interesting about the eye brows, I'll have a think about that, although with men I think we can get away with more imperfections and look a bit 'rougher'! Thanks for your comment.

  • @dresmat72

    How was the midface lifting done?

  • @curious2travel
    @curious2travel6 ай бұрын

    They went in through the same incision for the lower blepharoplasty just under my lower eyelashes. He somehow hitched up my skin and reattached it to the flesh behind and stitched it in place. The interesting thing is that the mid face lift was by far the cheapest part (£1500) but had a good effect in other ways that weren't anticipated - the lines above and under my mouth are reduced, and also it has improved my nasal passages so I breathe better at night.

  • @curious2travel
    @curious2travel6 ай бұрын

    Yes, that's correct. I was heartbroken to leave the ship at New York and would have loved to have stayed on to the Caribbean too, even though I heard there were very rough seas out of NYC. I'm doing the same crossing in Dec 24 but this time am continuing to the Caribbean, and I'm very excited.

    @@curious2travel Thats nice,we enjoyed the crossing but for us one week was enough on the ship we found the main restaurant food extremely dissapointing,with limited choice,and although we liked the buffet,it got a bit boring towards the end of the week,we struggled with the onboard entertainment as well. However it was always something we wanted to do,and interesting the crossing was so smooth,it shows you never can tell with the north atlantic summer or winter! Next time we are interested in one of the crossings that go from Barcelona to Florida,and staying on in florida for a week or two its not cunard but one of the cruise ships. All in a nice experience tho,best wishes for 2024 and christmas will be here again in no time! and hope you have a nice time

    This is great! It brought back such great memories of my vacation with my husband on our 20th anniversary some 20 years ago. We rode the cable cars every day to the Wharf and back to the other end where our motel was a few blocks from Market street. We are small town Oregon folks so this was something really special. :)

    3:43 The stop at Post Street is known as "Fantasy Island" by the cable car operators because the car is usually too full to pick up any more passengers. People mistakenly believe they will be able to board there instead of walking two blocks to the turnaround and waiting in the long line.

    Just learned the Ritz "ELVES" swoop in and install ALL prior to the guest's morning wakeup. Look at the enormous height of the real tree! It is hoisted by hand with ropes by men over the balconies through the balusters. You go to bed a normal day in November/December and you wake TO CHRISTMAS. Magical. Well done, well done, I say! During 1982-84, I saw them completely rebuild the tracks, and slot conduits on all cable car lines. There had been discussion for a number of years to do so, because the rails were getting all bent, re-welded, and sheave pulleys bent out of alignment. The real motivation to get the system up and running was the choice of San Francisco for the 1984 Democratic convention at Moscone Center. You can see cleanly-poured concrete casings around the tracks, embedding the slot and cable cavity. Photos of the system prior to 1982 show asphalt poured directly up against the side rails, along with bad uneven patches where the old brick supporting walls had collapsed.

    Thanks so much for the beautiful vlog! What makes San Francisco so memorable are the hidden places like Macondray Lane, the Filbert Steps, Cottage Row, the 16th St. mosaic steps, etc. As a native who has walked the city for over 50 of my 70 years, these are the places I miss most now that I am retired in Palm Springs. I've traveled and lived all around the world yet San Francisco remains forever the favorite place in my heart.
