It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re trying to learn a new language. However, I’ve learned that by combining your entertainment time and your language learning time, this is an easy way to stay motivated as a language learner. I personally like to use Immersive Translate to generate subtitles to my KZread and Netflix, and that’s how I’ve been learning Vietnamese, my target language. I’ve already learned a lot so far, which is really great.

There are so many resources out there, but not all of them work for everyone. For me, what’s worked the best is Immersive Translate. It’s a browser extension that supports over 100+ languages. I personally use it to translate webpages and documents, and even to watch my shows and movies on Netflix every day, which has really helped me integrate myself in my target language. It’s been very helpful so far, and I couldn’t be happier.

sure ! i’m making a video about that soon, but i can tell you a few things: - you can choose community or professional tutors, i think community tutors are cheaper but still give quality lessons - the teachers will give their qualifications in their description - you can always switch teachers depending on your needs - teachers have their own prices, as in, they differ between teachers - it’s pretty convenient from my side, i would really recccomend it. - you can also get in touch with other learners around the world and do quizzes

I started learning Mandarin around the same time as you. This is my first time seriously self studying a language. It has been difficult for me because usually I tend to give up on something unless I can see visual progress and without tests and grades I don't have that visual progress. There is a Chinese muscian I like and I have never been able to read the titles to her songs, but now I am able to read some. That type of visual progress felt better than any grade I have ever recieved and got me really excited to continue. Im excited to see your videos in the future.

that’s really neat! i think that form of visual progress might feel more as a victory for you because you feel more attached to that musician. i think that’s a really cool thing. i too feel like giving up when i don’t see visual progress. but for me, reading books without romanisation makes me feel accomplished! good luck on your studies 🙏

New viewer here! I love your attitude and general outlook towards language learning. I've been learning mandarin for over a year now, and I'm studying really hard to try and solidly reach HSK 4, and I just want to say! 加油!The beginning with mandarin is definitely the hardest-- once the tones stop feeling so foreign, it starts to be a lot easier to remember them and pronounce them, and once you have a bunch of radicals and characters memorized, it's a lot easier to memorize new words because they'll often reuse the same radicals or even whole characters. 谢谢你的视频,我期待你的下个!
