How many more mutilations this gorgeous music by Russian composer has to endure? Killing Mozart’s beloved pieces is not enough. Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky all are still being mutilated, carved for the sake of modernization. It’s travesty. Old masters can’t protest, or slap the offenders with law suits. Mediocrity of all colors nowadays is protected, encouraged and perpetuated, as virtue.
