  Great finds! The slotted piece is a parasol slide, that would go up and down the pole as you open and close it.

  I’m 1 1/2 hours from Gettysburg, Antietam, Harpers Ferry…..but you would need permits and turn over to the historical societies. Also Flight 93 but no metal detecting there. Lots of Civil War history. Lots of pre-Revolutionary War here too. So much private land is posted though and filled with coyotes and bears.(Hint, hint! 😂)
