Such a gorgeus horse! Zafferano is such a fine-tempered and beautiful stallion. Most of his offsprings inherit some good gaits and of course his unique colour. If keeping him as a stud and breeding with him in the US, it would hopefully cause a huge impact in the breeding industry, as SWB arent too common in America. I would love to see the bloodline of some of the finest SWB stallions, continue its legacy across the world!

What auction did you get him from? I've been watching for online auctions for a riding and driving horse for myself. It's been a painful experience though. Either they're way out of my price range or they're grade/quarter horses.

Congratulations on your new colt. I also have imported 2 horses from Europe for Dressage. While watching your video I noticed something that I wanted to mention to you and this is purely for learning and not intended to shame. I have been in horses for over 30 years and in the boarding business for 22 year. I noticed in the video that when the horses were on pasture that there are dandelions going to seed. Dandelion and False Dandelion are a HUGE PROBLEM all over the World. We have been on our acreage for 30 years and they were not an issue then. Dandelions cause ulcers in horses and is very expensive to treat and painful for the horse causing all kinds of behaviour problems. You can google it, I have seen it first hand. But false dandelion which is hard to differentiate from Dandelion causes stringhalt in horses. I also have experienced this in 2 horses over the years. The plant affects the nerve endings in the hind end where I have seen a vet take pointy scissors and push down an inch on the horses hind quarters and they do not feel it. The horse literally cannot walk. The horse when it moved walked in a stringhalt manner but eventually they cannot walk. The horses need high doses of an Epileptic drug and many months to recover and not all do. Pasture management is very time consuming for the owner of the facility as it requires spraying to eradicate the noxious weed. The flower has already gone to seed and each flower carries many thousands of seed heads and eventually you will have more flower than grass. Many horse owners are not aware of the toxicity that they have on our equines. All the best with your beautiful boy. No shade only for learning to keep our loved ones healthy ❤

I barrel raced & team penned in a western saddle with a large o ring snaffle with braided split reins. It really less about equipment than training & trust. Good on you!

He reminds me of irish cream. Or coffee. What about Bailey? And on the other hand, he looks like the sahara desert winds, so maybe Sahel or Scirocco (english: Sirocco) - his sire has an italian name too

I find the use of pulling the horses head down with the reins that connect the girth to the bit creates an over bent outline and is not popular in my horsey circles in the UK. But what a fantastic job you have done with him

Sweet! I'm in northern California - I do dressage. I have PRE's. My foal was born near Murietta and I picked him up about 3 weeks ago. I also develop my own horses. San Diego has lots of Dressage trainers so you are lucky if you go in that direction. I'm in a bit of a training desert where I live so I have to travel to trainers and shows. Good luck with your new boy !

I bought a QH that was a reject from a hack line. He was in poor condition but he popped over a cavelleti on a loose rein and up and down a worn out double drop. His feet were broken off above the soles but he trotted up sound. I started working him through the three phases with basic dressage and tiny jumps but he naturally wanted to jump big. He jumped out of a paddock over a 5 ft gate to rejoin his friends. I did a schooling horse trial at about 4 months and though he wasn’t the prettiest jumper he went clear and did honorably in dressage so he won. We went on to do all sorts of showing for 7 yrs and he carried my daughter over x rails very carefully and jumped anything I aimed him at. I had to sell him and he went on to compete nationally and do very well. So much for a reject!

Warmblood stallions keep the stunning spirit. Geld them and you always end up with the equine stotally submisive and obedient Labrador version of the horse. I've come to realise it's all about narcissism and vanity. Really sad. He's an absolutely beautiful boy, bless him.❤

It breaks my heart to see horses so mistreated. As an endurance junkie, I find a lot of great rescued Arabians, mules and half Arabs that make excellent endurance animals. It does take time and patience to allow healing both physical and mental issues. I love a bitless bridal with an endurance saddle. So comfy and I can stay hours in the saddle with little discomfort for both of us. I have dressage background. I found I love the freedom and relaxation of endurance riding.
