The 120 quartz gave me eresh lmao so i won't complain. But yeah it's good that they addressed it so quickly. Hopefully they'll take this situation as a lesson and don't try to pull something that greedy again, and I'm optimistic they'll give us something more to fix the append skill system

More so Aniplex-side of desision making then most Lasengle acutal empoyed Developers and 2-san but yeah. It was planned form the start just like this "apology" damage control after they tested the waters and it didnt go as they hoped for.

The only thing planned (albeit horrible planned) was the Appends being implemented because there's absolutely no way they knew they were gonna get torched to all hell & back. Otherwise, why even do it? And you quote "apology" insinuating it isn't genuine while also distinguishing the devs/Kanou san separately from Aniplex -- further implying the devs & Kanou san are innocent while Aniplex is the bad guy. You know Kanou Yoshiki -- not Aniplex -- signed off on that apology? His name is right there, so I'm curious why the quotations lol
If they really had a fix planned for the Coin System there would be no reason to say nothing and wait for the community to catch fire before communicating anything. You can see that they had zero plans to solve the problem with acquiring coins and just expected players to accept that they would need to roll for more copies (Hence the update for Pity) but the chaos was so great that they had to announce something to calm everyone down.

My main problem is that once again, the anni servant is swimsuit themed. Its likely this will continue which means getting a male anni servant is prob not gonna happen... If we get another Gil, they'll either have to make another collab (prob wont happen) or we get him together with Camatzotz. In a jp user survey they once asked who he should turn into an alter and Gil won 🤔

I got NP5 Summer Eresh in 360SQ, and I'm fine without NP8. They know what they're doing, the way it is eventually the servant coins will be universal and obtainable for everyone. They're just there to milk players until then. NP5 is still the premium target for me.

It's damage control. They did NOT address the servant coin shortage issue. Needing you to still roll.
@ChesterCsquare Yes & no. I agree the larger issue that is the system itself is still a thing, BUT they addressed A LOT of people's gripes that they wasted their Servant Coins (either in Holy Grail casting or worse Append Skills) that could have been used on the new Appends. With their proposed update, Arcueid players, for example, don't NEED to pull for another copy if they lack her coins to get Append 5; rather, the players can just switch between Appends Again, does it fix everything? No, but it helps a good bit of it & is a good first step to hopefully a better system. At this point, they are DEFINITELY aware of the problem if they somehow were not before, so unless they want to scorn us further, they'll be smart to address the whole thing at some point
I was planning more copies for np up myself but it took nearly all my sq i had. Getting the 100 for anni plus the apologems boosted my sq back but i need to save for Summer. I got lucky this anni since last year Asec hated me but i got her on the preSummer banner. This year my Anni lucks been Ex since i also got Arc on Global 😊

I’ll be real, I have zero faith that the suits at Aniplex won’t try to push for similarly scummy shit like this going forward despite this backlash, because they probably don’t care so long as the money keeps rolling in. That said, I ultimately bear no ill will towards 2-san or the dev team, and feel that the community’s frustrations have been largely misdirected towards them when they in all likelihood had little say in the decision to release new appends without a fix for the coin system. Hell, I kinda pity them. Feels like for years they’ve been bogged down by understaffing and underfunding, constantly being made to churn out monthly content and still having dead weeks while years-old issues that need addressing pile up, but not being able to address them either for lack of time or lack of manpower. It’s not an enviable position to be in.
Aside from my dislike for the fact ereshkighal being 3 servants in one, being summer, servant verse, and Anniversary. Making it feel as if Anni servants are being less unique and being pushed into another event. I think this new append skill is terrible, not just by the fact you need 8 copies for a 5 star, but the fact that if you want to max a servant.. You are not guaranteed more than 1 copy. . I feel if they wanted to do this, make it more possible the fact we can comfortable get more copies. . not alot like how Hoyoverse or other games does it, But make it to where we can guarantee more copies. w

I have no faith in Aniplex to be completely honest, however the silver lining in this that IS giving me some hope of a decent solution down the line is that this post came directly from 2san. We need to remember that devs=\=publishers. Aniplex is a stinky, rotten conglomerate of executives that only want to make money. 2san and the working folks at Lasengle that actually make this game, I’m sure, care a lot about it. 2san in particular has a very difficult job being the face of the company even though he largely has no control over the monitization. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew this was coming but couldn’t raise hell with his bosses until the community uproar. They got this statement out very quickly and with early compensation included. I think 2san went to bat for the fans and we should absolutely praise the hell out of that special man for loving the game and the community so much. So that’s why this letter coming from 2san directly has me more hopeful than if it was the usual no-face PR response we get in news posts. At this point I’m trusting in 2san to fight those greedy a-holes at Aniplex to follow-through on the promises made in the letter.
You make a great point. Granted, the devil's advocate retort would be "Well, maybe the devs made Kanou-san write that to take the heat" or something. But again, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now & will pass judgement based on their future actions/updates. That & I trust Kanou-san because he goes above & beyond what he gets paid to do seemingly, like straight up learning English & visiting Anime Expo & Anime NYC every year to directly interact & relay news to NA players. I don't know any publisher who goes THAT far
i think they make mistake release 2 new append skill but it doesn't provide a way for players to get coins to unlock new append skills, My solution is they increase the bond cap, with new bond level the player getting new coin for unlock 2 append skill,
I wholeheartedly agree. Yeah, bonding to 15 takes A LOT of time, but at the same time, I stopped using a lot of my bond 15 Servants because, well, I can't bond with them anymore. So increasing the cap would not only help with the Servant Coin bs, but it would give me an incentive to use my max bonded Servants again
I think Summer Ereshkigal was projected by lasagna as a major seller, that's why they announced these changes during anniversary but the banner underperformed in important demographics for them and they tied that to rising public opinion regarding those changes, enough so that they are now trying to mollify those demographics with promised further changes without reversing their position. I think they will continue promising future changes until the Summer Ciel banner numbers are in and if it performs according to their pre-anniversary estimates. Summer Ereshkigal still great though, saving up for NP2 guarantee.
@@UggoBass Are the numbers even out? It's only been 2 days. I would think Eresh is selling like hot cakes, but at the same time, perhaps people who WOULD go for her opted not to as a result of the Servant Coin thing. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case
I think the response was a good start. But it was just a start and can't be the solution entirely. This anniversary put a spotlight on an issue that's been festering since they introduced servant coins. It's absolutely ridiculous for people to need to summon more than NP5 of a SSR in order to max them out. At the absolute most it should take NP5 and Bond 15. Tossing in two full blown append skills (one of which is pretty crazy good) without any fix for the coin situation set the powder keg off. They knew people weren't happy with the coin system. That their apology fix will take months to implement shows that they had no idea this would happen. Somehow the people at the top are so blind they couldn't perceive that people might not be happy about this... This response helps. It does. At the very least it eases the stress on those that used their coins like the game expected them to and then left them in a hole. This may be the least of the possible fixes, but this at least helps people move their appends around and gets coins back used for grails. That is good. We do still need a legitimate solution for the coins (make the appends cheaper, or give more coins per bond level, or just some way to earn generic servant coins in events). But at least for now this shows that they have noticed how badly they've screwed up. It's far less frustrating now that they've made some promises. But it still exhausts me. Because they somehow turned an anniversary which should be something upbeat and celebratory into a tire fire.
@@Flaris Exactly my point. Nobody can argue that they at the very least addressed it. Had they not, especially with how fast they did respond, then we'd go months if not years resenting or losing trust in them. Right now, the apology & current promises/compensations are helping, but it'll take more actions going forward to completely fix everything
2:30 precisely, if I knew they were planning to do this, I would have just used my coins on the fifth append skill instead of the 1st and 3rd append skill It feels like they implemented this without thinking about what a normal / average player's account looks like (will have to choose unlocking 1-2 append skills or get to lvl 120) The whole "need NP8 to max out a servant" isn't that much a big issue for me, adding a extremely high ceiling is meant for high tier whales and leviathans By leviathans I mean those people who post their servant list with 50+ copies of the same servant because reasons
@@MattBrain9336 Exactly, & to your last point, it doesn't bother me THAT much now that they will make it so we can switch between appends. Because there are certainly Appends that are not as good on certain Servants, so it's nice to "remove" those from the Servants unlocked them for in favor of one of the new ones.

hellll no, 5 coins per prism would basically be no fix at all! Imagine having to spend 24rp to unlock 1 append! (plus you already know they'd cap it per month so you'd also need multiple months per append!)

When I heard about the extra Append Skills I was really curious about how they plan to reimburse Servant Coins for Limited Servants. Especially in Arcueid's case, since she's only been available on GSSR banners since her Anniversary release. Unless someone has really REALLY good luck in GSSR AND Destiny rolls, it's legit impossible to get more coins for her :/
Yeah. Arcueid is in a unique spot because she benefits best from the 5th append, but her lack of rate ups makes it improbable to unlock it
Looks like I'll have to get more Miyu copies for her last two Appends in a couple years! >.<;; Freaking Lasengle & Aniplex can't let us be happy with completely maxing our dudes without adding more to their stats. Sigh...

And they've managed to bury the fact that they are doing almost nothing with the story until next year. We've had a drought of ACTUAL story content. I'd take a decent interlude at this point. Instead, the goal posts are moved again and again in order to raise various servants as a cheap and nasty way to keep people engaged. As someone who did largely come in for the story, and looking at what scraps we're getting coming up, I quit.
Ehhh I half agree because the events this year have been great for story & lore. But I suppose if you're mainly playing for the main story & certain FGO Servants' interludes, I get your sentiment
"Fans" complaining on Twitter about the changes made in FGO is more tame than what "fans" did in the Hoyoverse communities...

Are you talking about the Genshin 3rd anniversary where they gave 3 single pulls? Everything went into chaos. It's war everywhere. And Honkai Star Rail fans are eating happily because they got a free limited 5star and 30 pulls which really fan the flames of envy. I stopped spending on genshin because of it actually.
This is the first time Fate has reached this level of toxic I believe. But most Mahoyo games have been past that consistently for often dumber reasons.

I feel like this is just something they already knew would happen and just had this apology premade plus the gems to calm people down but looking at what has been fixed it solves one problem but ignores the other that being still needing np8 + B15 (for 5 stars much worse for 4 stars and lower) to completely max out a unit which is beyond fucked up as youre essentially wasting money for useless copies if you wanted to max your favorite although again its more of a whale issue but for f2p players that plan to save for that one servant its also a waste of a lot more sq that coulda been budgeted for future characters

@@TheMainCharacterJack im not usually a conspiracy kinda guy too sometimes these companies do this though but if not that I feel bad for kano as he didnt seem too confident when presenting those appends on the live stream but yeah lets just hope they improve more now that they seem to be listening to us even if it took a lot
@@Krievei It's a shame too because he's sort of the messenger in all this, & he's getting the brunt of everything since he's always the one delivering these updates. As someone who's met him twice since he's somewhat comfortable interacting with fans, I hope he's not scared off from in person meet ups as a result of the violent threats on social media. But at the same time, I also hope none of those crazy people get close to him. It's a stupid situation overall that, in the end, is self inflicted, but I hope everyone calms down & Lasengle learns from this

This is a good first step, emphasis on first step, if this is just a band aid for now and we get a good coin system update very soon thats not stingy but actually makes both f2p and whales happy then I'll consider it a win, heck get rid of coins from bond 11-15 and just disperse it among bond 1-10 and get rid of coins from grailing and ill take that as a win

That was nice damage control but it's basically just a band-aid on a gaping wound. The issue with needing NP8 is still very present, and this issue would happen again but worse if they add something else that requires more coins (like level 150). At that point people would need NP9 or 10 to fully max a Servant and 150 would basically be out of reach for the average F2P player. I'm glad they promised to do something but they also promised to address the coin problem back when it was first announced and they still haven't done anything with that.
@@hmmmmname Tbf the "promise" they made back then wasn't necessarily "we'll make coins more available" but rather they'll put coins in event shops, which they didn't necessarily lie about -- just misled us. So I hope this current promise is moreso what we want & expect going forward
They did fix it somewhat by giving us 120 free coins. So that’s something more.
Personally, I'm happy with the apology and the proposed update, so long as it happens in a timely fashion. I understand it can't be right away, but should still be sooner than later. I still hope there'll be a larger update to the servant coin system as a whole, it's been flawed from the start, but at least they acknowledged the immediate problem. The updates mentioned in the apology are probably the best they could promise right now, given that changes to the entire system could impact projected profits for the future and they'd need to run that by management outside the dev team, as opposed to these changes which are more "refunds" of resources that've already been used and likely easier to approve. It is really unfortunate that this one change which I think was cool in concept, but horribly executed, has soured a lot of people on all the other great announcements both for FGO and the other Fate projects. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson for TM and Lasengle, at least. And of course, those who were threatening the devs need to get some help. That is never acceptable, and the fact that some people on social media have been praising the "fans" who sent threats as the reason for the apology is disgusting.

Wish people didn't shat on Ciel cause Eresh wasn't announced until a day later then still double down on the fact folks don't want characters from Tsukihime (mind you connects to Fate cause Nasuverse) in FGO meanwhile they were cool with every other character wasn't mainly debut from FGO but other TM media. Append skills situation is also a very messy one that they should have thought more firmly about before going through with it. Similar to the GBF Summer Lotto nightmare.
I mean, I said this before, but while I like Ciel & tsukihime, I am apprehensive & iffy on non-Fate characters taking Summer or Anniversary spots since, imo, those events/celebration should be reserved for Fate characters. Yes, the Nasuverse is all interconnected, but that doesn't change the fact the average FGO player has no idea about anything outside of Fate. Instead, collab characters should be reserved & exclusive to events tied to their original series like they've always been. Dropping Ciel randomly, while I'm okay with her, I do understand why some would feel negatively about it.
I like Ciel more than eresh so that sucks to hear but I get that many fate fans are pretty exclusive to fate

You get a servant you didn't want in, it's a lose. no matter what way the cookie crumbles, nobody wins but sitting here openly bashing on something that could and can expand the game further out cause you don't get the servant you want is outright unfair to the folks who ACTUALLY wanted her but meh. when a community is this big, everyone gonna be unsatisfied. Nobody had this energy with Lady Avalon taking a slot so this community got it. I'll also add people was asking for Tsukihime characters before so I dunno why folks are mad now lmao especially when everyone cheer and hype up Arc as an anniversary servant then got mad at Tonelico for being both summer and anniversary servant but Eresh all of a sudden an exception.

I was a fate head at first until I started dabbling in other media like KnK, Mahoyo, Tsukihime and etc. People was asking for Tsukihime collab for years and now people want to change their tune? This community is cornball at times.
Well, that's every gacha ever, there will always be three groups of fans: the ones who like the character, the ones who don't, and the ones who don't care. There's no such things of satisfying EVERYONE. As far as fans being okay with Arcueid, I think it's because it made sense given the timing. Arc came out not too long after Tsukihime came out, so even if there were fans who didn't like or care for her or Tsukihime, everyone accepted her because it made perfect sense at the time to advertise the game & ride off its hype. In contrast, Ciel coming out as a Summer Servant no less makes no sense. You claim it's similar or the same as when Lady Avalon came out, & while I kinda see your point, it's VERY different because even non-Arcade players who have ZERO familiarity with Proto Merlin would still recognize her right away as "Oh that's Merlin!" The same CANNOT be said for Ciel, who is being mislabelled as a "Saber Face" by those who don't know her. Basically going to my original point -- it's way better in general for the summer & Anniversary characters to be recognizable to Fate-only fans while the collab characters should be reserved for the inevitable collab event. Now, do I also wish people expanded their horizons & got into other Fates & other Type Moon works? Yeah, because as someone who did just that, I find FGO much more enjoyable now that I have a deeper understanding & knowledge of the Nasuverse. However, I also understand why people don't because not everyone enjoys Visual Novels & not everyone has the time for them. If they're playing FGO casually or just for Fate (it is called Fate/Grand Order & NOT Type Moon/Grand Order, after all), then the game & its devs should cater the big events to them because they make up the bulk of most of the community. The Type Moon nerds like myself & yourself are in the minority, as hard as that to accept.

I mean, sure, seen that argument countless times. But in the end, at least for me, my MAIN focus (not my only focus, obviously) is the story. The gameplay has always been secondary. That said, I still want every other factor such as the gameplay to be acceptable/adequate. As it stood with the Servant Coin system as well as other issues, FGO still has a long way to go.

@@TheMainCharacterJack unfortunately even the story telling isn't consistently good and at times lazy. They're full of bad pacing,people not talking like people and exposition dumps solely to inform the player quickly. The plot and setting is still amazing but thats about it.

Apology means nothing as they ALREADY PROMISED to fix the coin system and only waited until after they got a massive amount of backlash to say they'll do it which means 1 they didn't want to do it or 2 they have very bad management in thinking new append skills that cost more coins would be the perfect thing to mention first. Either way it's bad. Where's the cc fix? Animation updates and such aka stuff they already promised years ago. Genshin impact same thing with the hydro spinner where they immediately within 24 hours back tracked on removing the bug. Isn't that funny? Ereshkigal summer is amazing but I can separate my hype for her from the mess they did with anny. How did we go backwards from the hype of getting bronze servants?
I know they promised that way back then, but I'd rather they be late & address the issue late than never. It's 1 step, but to me, it's a good sign that they're FINALLY listening. That's why I think this is overall a good thing, because had they NOT done anything, then it makes them look WAY worse & proves that they have don't care how we feel. It's not an end all be all solution, but again, it's a good sign that I hope they keep following up on.

The fact they got the backlash is their own fault 100 percent. Not a step forward. It's just not stepping backwards and staying in place and we see how many times the fate devs get a bigger head that caused DW to go down. Same with the other systems. What exactly are they working on? It's not anything with the cc. The animation updates. The welfare coin system they happily brought up. Etc. Na at least goes to give stuff early when Jp should have gotten it on base.
They said they're already working on future events & updates so they can't just fix it overnight. That's their fault, yes, but it is what it is & only time will tell when & if they actually stand by their word this time around. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. And maybe that's my fault, but this is the first & only time where I personally felt they cheated me. Again, that's just me, clearly you feel cheated WAY more than me. "I will give them the benefit of the doubt" is the problem, they've been given years at this point to correct the system; They've had far farrr too long to make things right and this outrage is really just people's breaking point of waiting and asking and hoping They made a good correction, but it was only a correction from an egregious error back to slightly below the average. When they have the actual servant coin fix in the game is when a lot of people will feel they are able to basically trust the devs or the management again, and i don't blame em for feeling that way
@ivanbluecool I do agree that the fixes should have been done immediately, but I don't think it has to do with the devs only. Aniplex and Type Moon may have a part to all of this, or rather, someone in upper management is calling the shots from corporate, but I don't really know. I just know that it shouldn't just be the devs fault for not getting that fixed right away.

From it's lore to their creativity on characters. That is why I am so critical. It breaks my heart when I see a franchise make short cuts and cast off their creativity for a quick cash grab.

Let's not allow the controversy to take away from all the future Fate & Type Moon content (FSN & hollow ataraxia remastered, Extra Record, strange Fake anime, etc.). Fortunately, Lasengle/Aniplex acknowledged & apologized about the whole situation & will be updating the Servant Coin system & compensating players in the future. unless they implement a reasonable system to unlock these new append, those skill dont exist as far as im concerned.
2 potential ways i can see how the coin system can be fixed, option 1 they halve the unlock cost which can make it more reasonable. Option 2 is every servant that is in the party gets 5 coins after battle, even just 1 coin can help... though that would just be hell to grind for
it'd have to be a farming node cause otherwise you could farm the 4ap stage for as many as you want xD

The concept of these appends is great. The fifth one is amazing (especially for certain servants). But the servant coin system is disgusting. And they did absolutely nothing to improve it while adding another coin sink. That's awful. I'm not holding my judgment. If they actually do something positive with the coin system later I'll re-assess then. But they needed to introduce that with these appends. This actually sucks. Need more coins, but the only place to get them...is back to the gacha for copies you need for no other reason than coins.
@@Flaris exactly. The 5th skill helps EVERY Servant & fixes some specific ones, but it's the Servant Coin system that's horrible.

I got extremely lucky with my pulls got 2 Saber Medusas got Beast Eresh in 20 tickets and got Draco from the Destiny i'm so happy and still in disbelief
Took me 300 rolls pre-pity back when it was a 10 shot to get OG Ereshkigal, might as well commit. Two years away, my lucky ass still has 1867SQ. Outside of summer events, not much I wanna roll for in the next two years. Now to play the waiting game.
