  These engines also have timing problems. When I bought the megane grand tour 1.6 DCI gt line, at 82,000km I had the distribution timing changed, as it made noise when starting, after 10,000km it returned to the same. I complained to Renault, but they told me to take it in the Ars. To this day I still have it, with 10 years 145000km, but I've already spent some money. Problems, apart from the noisy distribution, connection plugs in the door columns create green and oxidize, symptoms, glass locks and rear door sensors, stop working, or lock and unlock by themselves, solution (buy a used electrical cable line of the same model, from rear door to the plug, and the inner cable line with at least 50cm from the column plug, then cut and solder one by one as I did). Advice, every year use spray contact cleaner on each connection of the car's electrical plugs, both in the engine compartment and on the chassis, thus avoiding phantom errors in the on-board computer. The engine oil, which I advise from my experience is LiquiMoly TopTec4400, as it has the same specification as Renault for these engines, and unlike the ELF, the engine makes less noise, I advise changing it every 15000km, as the 30000 is a myth. In 2022, I spent around 2000eur on parts, I decided to get the whole front, with regard to steering, suspension and brakes, and the rear, all new. I still have a clutch kit and a distribution kit saved, around 160000km, I'm going to change everything. The van, runs well, has strength, as the 130hp are more than enough, for this model, on the road at 130km, I average 4.5l to 5.0l in manual, with Cruise Control it consumes more 1l at 100km . When I bought it with 82000km, I managed to get the speed at 240, several times, which I do not advise. Interiors are like new, taking crap from the radio and air controls, the symbols disappeared, another shit from Renault. But in the end it's what you can get. I advise you to have a Delphi, to regenerate the particle filter, because for those who drive mostly in the city, I advise regeneration from time to time. One more thing, disassemble and clean the EGR from time to time, it doesn't do any harm, of course all this has to be done by someone professional. For parts, Original Renault (www.motodynamic.pl), competitive parts (Motodynamic.de), in the last one use the Google translator, both take about 1 week, to get the material here in Portugal, there I don't know, but much more cheaper in originals then if you go to Renault. Renault here in Portugal, only squeeze the customer, and post-warranty, they are miserable, even with a manufacturing defect parts.
