Hey jake, i would like to ask you a question, can I wear my glasses only when I needed, my doctor said I have -1.50 and -2.00 diopter, but I’m not sure about that because I feel my eye not that blur to see. I never wear glasses before, should I buy glasses? Please answer me, thank you😊❤

how long does it take for eyeball to elongate because of glasess, i still wore -0,5 on (left eye only) glasess after my myopia increased, and because i couldnt see board i got new ones, with diopter on right and little bit more on left, and i wore them for 7 days max,and while using phone, and than i stopped wearing them. Did this was enough time for my eyeballs to elongate, cuz i think i had cillary spasm. And ,can eyeball go back to normal if it is elongated in myopic teens like 15 years old?

Can the eye lenses compensate the elongated eyeball? In my experience, YES. I did only active focus without glasses and now i see about 90% just have a 1 diopter of astigmatism which causes that ghost image, but i can see clearly at 10 feet and 15 feet. Do you think myopia can be compensated by the eye lenses?

So how the fuck do you actually get normalized, let alone differential glasses? You go to an eye exam, get a prescription that has to be signed by a doctor, and tinkering with a prescription is a felony... unless you successfully bribe the opticians. I'm European, so Zenni is not an option...

  • @curio78

Lens does not harden, added detail is necessary, on why the lens gets harder to change focus as you age. Unlike other tissue our lens tissue does not die or gets replaced, layers get added just like tree rings over the life time. At some point the lens becomes so thick that the eye muscle is not enough to easily change its shape. Your eye muscle will strain to move that much mass. So, you cannot reverse age related Presbyopia. The only thing you can do is stretch the limitation a bit by exercise. In short you can lessen the symptoms, but given it is progressive you will anyway end up with glasses. so, the effort is not worth it. Its not worth the eyestrain you will experience to deal with it. Because your eye muscles will never get strong enough to overcome this progressive thickening. So if you are going to get glasses, anyway, why go through the struggle. Getting progressive glasses is simple for everyday tasks. Just get a light one, with those thin bendy frame, you won't feel the tug and forget its there. For long computers you just go with similar mono focal. Yes you need 2 glasses. Just give up on trying to manage this, get glasses your eyes will thank you.

thank you so much for making these helpful videos for us. I am starting to work on reducing my myopia. I currently have a prescription of -8 in both eyes. I just need a little confirmation: should I use my full prescription glasses for long distances and differential glasses, which will be 1.5 diopters less than my full prescription, for short distances like computer work and reading? I also want to confirm that I should use these two types of glasses along with active focus to reduce my myopia. Please confirm this for me. Sorry for the long comment, and thank you.

Thank you for sharing this! I wore glasses from gr1-6 (forgot the diagnoses but it was astigmatism and it was considerably bad for my age). The optometrist said I would have to wear them for the rest of my life and it would only get worse. I hated them so much-stopped wearing them in grade 6 and didn't go back to the optometrist until near the end of high school. My astigmatism was gone, vision had improved and only needed reading glasses. The optometrist could not say why & instead said its because of my age. Now 15 years later my eyes get blurry after several hours on the screen but I truly believe its because of all the accumulated years of being indoors, staring at a screen not blinking etc and not getting much sunlight either. Plus I did alot of detailed work up close for several hours on end with heavy lighting for years during this time. I noticed a drastic change in my eye sight. Thank you for sharing these videos- I look forward to updating you all with good news.

Hi Jake. I want to start by saying that I can't speak English which makes it very difficult for me to understand your videos.... That's why I decided to write to you. I've been following you on youtube for a few weeks now and I want to fight for a good sight. Recently my ophthalmologist told me that my defect has worsened a lot (L -5, R -6.5). I am 24 years old and it worries me a lot. But I felt that I want to try to improve my eyesight. I would like to ask you for advice on what to do about glasses. I currently have my old glasses (L -3.75, R -5) but I also have astigmatism. I don't know what to do to prevent my defect from getting worse. Will getting new glasses a little weaker than L -5, R -6.5 be a good idea? Or will it stay with the old glasses? Until now I had astigmatism on one eye, now I have on the other eye.... I've already tried to practice active focus and it's working out pretty well for me. 🙂 I also want to ask you about glasses for computer work. I work at the computer many hours a day. What kind of glasses would you recommend me to buy for computer work? Unfortunately when I take my glasses off I can't see anything. but I heard on yours video that for computer or phone work you need different glasses, not the ones we have for looking away. Sorry to bother you.

I'm genuinely scared that I have shortened my eyes so much due to screen time.
