Welcome to my KZread Channel! Most videos here focus on the Peoria, Illinois area but you'll also find some featuring commercial aviation and railroading from other parts of the country.
I enjoyed watching it. Could you also please let us see the landing and take off?

These are molten petroleum asphalt loads for one of two TZPR-served asphalt terminals a short drive down S. Darst Street on BioUrja Renewables LLC's Riverside Track (ex-Rock Island Belt Line). None display Peoria River Terminal/Interstate Asphalt Corp. markings, so these may be consigned to the other - Seneca Petroleum Co.

How do we know the exact freight manifest for TZPR 2133--how do we know for sure at a glance the loaded cars?
@bn1381413 күн бұрын
I heard "3 loads, 43 empties" on my scanner, but you can tell if freight cars are loaded or empty by checking the bogie coil springs. If pressed, then the car is loaded. If open, the car is empty. This train's loads were among the last several cars on the rear. These were from the Ingredion Inc. sorbitol plant in Mapleton.
@user-gt8lq5pg8s12 күн бұрын
@@bn13814 Thank you! I just realized what is made at Ingredion---would that mean mostly tank cars going out and hopper cars going into to the plant?? Just curious!

@@user-gt8lq5pg8s Corn syrup is shipped from Ingredion's Summit Argo (Chicago) wet corn refinery via CN-Gilman-TPW to Mapleton, where corn syrup is hydrogenated to manufacture sugarless bulk sweeteners such as sorbitol. Ingredion has a lease track in TP&W's East Peoria Yard, so corn syrup tank cars are left there until ordered into the plant. Sorbitol (and other products) are shipped from Mapleton by rail to at least a few destinations on a regular basis. (NOTE: Ingredion was known as Corn Products International until 2012. )

@@bn13814 Thank you! I visited the Argo Plant on Archer Avenue when I was in Middle School--more than 60 years ago. Many railroad modelers love the activity at Argo--it is a huge facility--even bigger than the Clinton, Iowa ADM. Without knowing the background--well, it is just shuttling cars around--like doing the dishes--necessary but not really interesting.!!!

Operations that day seemed to contradict what had been reported, i.e., BUWA should run in the evening. I was expecting WABU, reportedly on duty at 0800, but never saw it. A Cedar Rapids turn (WACR/CRWA) runs at night, and an Olewein local runs in the afternoon. Switch crews work Bryant Yard during the day and night it seemed.
