    I saw one of your videos a while back that you were "un-decking" two semis, but they had a bunch of 2X4 or 4X6 cribbing on the fifth wheel. What is the reason for the wood cribbing if the little fifth wheel clamps will work? Thanks for an interesting video.

  • @MercifulTowing
    @MercifulTowing3 күн бұрын

    Depending on the type of truck being decked some times cribbing is used to keep the 5th wheel in a certain position. Also some guys use it to keep the trucks from leaning side to side when cornering ect.

    The fun thing about a rotator, is that many don't realize how, as it's essentially a mobile crane, how many non towing job opportunities will now open up for y'all. The wreck cleanups are flashy, but those small picks are what pay for the truck. 😎

    I always wonder how people get themselves stuck like that. If she needed to turn on the road, why not pull backwards into the driveway and then just pull out normally?

    It's good to know that you're getting those different pesky problems with Miller Industries worked out. Cause you guys do an awesome job and I really wanna see the relationship between you and Miller be a positive. I sound like I know who Miller is, but I don't! I just know that you have a beautiful truck and I hate to see you having different issues with it that are just pesky! Anyway be safe.

    another tow/recovery company i watch - for the truck they would have done a "V" on the tow hooks on the front like the "catch" on the trailer and just lifted the truck nose up enough and let the rotator pull it all over - at least in part you dont have to worry about the truck "slamming" when it gets to that part

  • @MercifulTowing
    @MercifulTowing14 күн бұрын

    Yes we are still practicing that method and getting it down right, with these "rabbit" bumpers I wouldnt do that with anyways as I dont trust them to stay together, they cant hardly handle a winchout. Also we were very pressed for time as another severe possible tornado producing storm was fast approacing we went with what we were most efficient at which is spiking the steer. Nothing wrong with either method we have used the other method were just not as proficient with it as Pepe's LOL

  • @MercifulTowing
    @MercifulTowing14 күн бұрын

    Ive also come to learn as you can see in the video If you hold the trailer while the cab comes over in the right spot it wil actually come over rather gentle as it did here, only downfall is it places a good amount of twist on the frame.... but in hindesite it twisted just the same on its way over so as the trailer is what forces the semi over so its kinda 6 to 1 half a dozen to another.. Either way thanks for watching and commenting all input is appreciated!!

    its not a good sign if a hook is towing a new truck set up the highway, I've seen navistars, kenworths, freightliners, and I think a set of used trucks getting the hook

    3:22 The people required emissions. The government takes orders from the people, not the other way around junior. Cool how you attack the government for something that directly benefits you. Getting the particulates out of the air has extended your quality of life. Hell you are literally getting paid for an alleged emission issue... I'm surprised you are not blaming the government for your controller not working. After all the government assigns the frequency, and power it is allowed to operate at.
