What do the other states do differently than the NATO states. If you piss against the wind in NATO countries, you get to feel the tolerance of these states. How is that different from Iran or Iraq? 1:47:00

Mr. Chomsky, you are wrong. Morocco did NOT invade western Sahara. Morocco regained its occupied land peacefully from Spain. Do your homework and read history. As a linguist, I respect your theory, but I was really surprised to hear you giving some wrong facts about Morocco. There is obviously an ideology behind your statement vis a vis Morocco, a country with deep roots in history. It's too bad it's coming from you. Ahmed from Toronto

As Professor Nom Chompsky said "Those who control the economic life of a country also tend to have overwhelming influince over state policy" -This can be summed up as "Those who control the economy can control the policy." This is similar to how Frank Herbert said "He who controls the spice, controls the universe." -Which, in turn, can, of course, most certainly be summed up as "Rich people got power." -As the professor implied, it can be simply summed up by the American elementary school adage "Money is power." Mathematically that is easily expressed as "m=p." This more importantly elucidates that since time is money and money is power, then power is time (t=m=p). This is a matter of transitive property. Since it is known that Money is fiat and Time is a subjective hallucination produced by the consciousness of one's ability to change and said effects of change, one must conclude that Power too is an illususory fiat- a hallucination of grandeur- a futile legacy in the face of a boundless yawning eternity full of all creation and destruction, forever and ever. 🍃 Or that's the gist of it.🌈⭐️

Basically we're no longer up for the revolution, like the left in other western countries threatened by fascism, we'd sooner die than fight. Because the western left is humanitarian, feminine, liberal and generally pacifist. Which one might argue is the superior leftism rather than the bloody revolutionary tumult of the French and Russian revolutions. but there comes crunch times in history wherein taking the high road is just not gonna work. Such as the US Civil War and the fight against fascism, sometimes there's no way to straighten things out peacefully and democratically. We could be approaching one of those crunch points in the very near future, But I'd say if the US is threatened by fascism, it would be a mistake to keep the country together. Let the Red States go their own way and then apply pressure from the outside, The Blue States can then look to form a new progressive union, including Latin America and Canada. In fact progressive leaning states have to come together globally to see off this new rightist menace. The nightmare scenario is, in trying to keep America together, the Right takes all of America, If the entirety of America falls to fascism, the world is truly fried.

with all the anti-human crimes that America committed and with all the lies manufactured before US attacked a country that didn't follow their will, still most western people buy into all the BS propaganda of US media. Now China become the biggest enemy of US, and see how many people swallow all those brainless lies and demonizing rhetoric against China uncritically!

I have fun reading comments in response to Chomsky's talks and lectures. Many are well read people, not all of them. I read a comment by one techie senior manager who thinks his long hours and long yeras of work entitled him to luxuries, some fame and excesses he has earned. He was greatly upset that an academic like Chomsky leading a 'competitively' far easier life gets to lecture on unfair practices of businesses, tries to preach ethics to them. He is completely frustrated that a guy like Chomsky could take away his stature as well his rewards. It is a bit nightmarish if you could see his point of view. It is funny in the sense that he could never ever comprehend the relevance of Chomsky, the guy has little idea we (academics) brought down kings who thought of themselves as irreplaceable, had everyone in awe, had bigger wealth than he could imagine. Some people are kids, his mathematics and code may be of significance, he best realize the code we write is beyond him or his team. 😅😅😅😅

It is said companies like Amazon and Walmart cannot give their employees liveable wages because the business operates on razor-thin profit margins. Bullsh*t. From October 31 2022 to October 2023, Walmart's profit was $155,000,000,000 and the business has 1,600,000 employees. They could give every single employee an additional $31,250 dollars a year and still net over 105 billion in profits without increasing their prices at all.

ANYONE who is concerned about exploitation of workers may want to join a call for equal sharing of natural wealth. If people have a modest income separate from work income, they will have more latitude to leave any employment situation that does not appeal to them for whatever reason. If we charge high fees to industries that emit pollution, deplete resources or disturb / destroy wildlife habitat (as high as random polls say is appropriate for bringing impacts into line with what most people think is acceptable), the money collected would represent the value to the human economy of natural wealth. This is wealth made by natural processes, not human effort. It should be shared equally. The market would be more honest in representing costs. Profit would align with sustainability. It would be more fair. Every person (or every adult) would have the financial wherewithal to provide for their basic needs. No one would be threatened with becoming destitute upon leaving a job or decline a job offer.

Hes smart but too smart. They want to defund SS because its managed horribly. Which he just admitted would be more sustainable under private management. And public schooling is the same but for a different reason. He neglects to mention the elites dont want to privatize it, they want to operate at the lowest tier, creating a population who doesnt think critically and cant succeed, therefore needing to vote for those who would provide government assistance. Either he is sincerely naive or cunning. Its not the former..
