    There’s so much truth to that! Some people believe confidence comes from having a well behaved horse, but it does actually come from having control of your horse in any situation because even if they are trained and behave well they are still a horse, and can be fresh or spook at something and knowing that you can stop the horse from reacting and quickly bring them back to thinking things through is key, but this doesn’t come easy, time, lessons, education, and effort are going to be needed from the rider, Thanks Larry always love watching ❤

    My horse pulls tricks out of his bag. supposedly ridden 4 months when I bought him. He resents anything faster than a walk and appears to be the laziest horse I have ever owned. His latest is slinging his head when i ask him to lope, which is a little disconcerting. I live in the Oklahoma City area, if there are any good, trainers in this area I need their help. You can answer this comment.

    There are tons of horse trainers in your area. Shouldn't be difficult to find a good one. Ask at the tack or feed stores.

    What do you do when you have a full that will not only let you touch every part of her including her tummy, you can wash her butt, and I can lift her feet and hold them for about five seconds each sometimes more but I’m trying to not overdo it and she follows me everywhere. The only thing I’ve had to teach her so far is the back up do I need to leave her alone until she doesn’t follow me so that I can train her to follow me I don’t mean this to be a facetious question I just really I’m not sure because most of the channels that show how to train a full their training fours that are not cooperative.

    I wouldn't be concerned about the foal following me. That's not a big deal. Do what needs to be done to have a well behaved and responsive foal.

    Hi! I have just started competing my Percheron/Hackney pony gelding and we compete in Hunt Seat, Western Pleasure & Ranch Horse. We don't have an arena but I've been cantering him in our round pen but when I ask him to canter he always starts off very fast. How can we change that?? He does settle down and start loping but I want our departs to be much smoother.

    Fine riding! The fact that you get such nice changes right from the start kinda makes me wonder if you're using your seat and weight in a manor not mentioned in this clip. For sure, if I would do the rein and leg aids as described but without a proper seat, no such clean change would take place. Subscribing.

  • @ltrocha
    @ltrochaАй бұрын

    Thanks for subscribing. Yes, a good seat is a plus to getting good lead changes but there is nothing mysterious about it. Many people ride on their thighs instead of their butt. This prohibits them from getting good performance.

    I appreciate you for your video. Over the years, you see so many new ways to attach your cinch. Could you please show me how you attach the opposite side of the saddle as well? I ask be ause I've heard it's better pressure distribution for the horse if you tie two separate latigos..would you mind showing me both sides of the saddle and steps to tie to saddle?

    I am 65, got back into horses after many years off due to work. Now back loving it, but a bit scary now that I don't bounce like i used to. My latingo came loose on a ride, and my horse spooked did a quick 180, the saddle slid off and took me with it. I Broke my shoulder blade....He gave me a warning just like you said, he saw dogs going crazy up ahead on the trail. If I had seen this video I could have avoided it all and worked his head and hind quarters.Instead i waited for him to blow, I knew he would. Now 10 weeks later, healed, I was riding a horse that was afraid of one side of the arena last week. I followed your lesson and it worked perfectly! You are an amazing trainer bud, easy to understand, clear, concise and most of all make sense. I watch this video like once a week to train myself. I never knew about the bumping the reigns method. Dam it works GREAT!! GOD BLESS YOU PAL...Glad your here to help us all. I wonder if you have a video on training a horse to stand at the mounting block? Thanks

    I had a mini stallion that I'd move between the other stallion paddocks and they'd have a great time playing and grooming. But once the mini sired he can no longer be around other stallions, he kicks hard and leaves welts, and bites hard enough the other stallion needed stitches. Once these injuries started I can no longer try fix these problems with more socialising. My ASH sired and was still a gentle stallion afterwards. Some stallions are more effected than others by siring.

    To be a horse trainer or to tell people what bit is good or bad, you have to be a sales man with over confidence. The Dorrances Tom and Bill know horsemanship they told people about feel and touch you ride a horse with your whole body, snaffle plain is very good. Horse trainers and horsemanship are too different things. It's all about signals. That's it.

    Good info, Larry! Would you please go into the structure of the lower limbs and feet a bit more, since that seems to be an issue with not just Quarter horses but just about all of them. In particular, the forward foot or underrun heels long toe low heels and the DSLD syndromes.

    Absolutely the best teaching on saddles fit, construction & wisdom in choosing a saddle I ever had. Now, Im 84 and one might think I don't need this knowledge or should have it by this time in life, but you'ed be wrong. I done the best I can do to do right in my life, so I can die with the hope of going to heaven, but what would be the point of that if there weren't, no horses there? It's never too late to learn, and this man does a great and thorough job of teaching PS, or dogs.
