Please excuse my ignorance on these pedals. Is there an effects loop on the pod so that we can put the tonex anywhere in the chain of the pod express, to have effects before and after tonex? Thank you!

No Loop in the POD, either put it in front to use drives from the POD or after to use Delay/Reverb/Mod. But the Helix effects or hx stomp could do that

It is the analog delay and the space reverb from the POD. Probably very little reverb from the ToneX too..

Thanks! I just my Tonex One and this looks like a cool setup. Trying to scale down as I’m getting a little older and humping around a heavy amp and pedalboard is not ideal anymore.

I bought and returned it. The amp models for clean to moderately dirty sound pretty good everything past the third or fourth model is pretty terrible. Also when you add any effect and I mean any, it becomes ridiculously compressed and loses all touch sensitivity and usable tone. Great concept but the effects leave a lot to be desired

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to make this little comparison! After switching to Helix I haven’t stayed up to date with pedals and wasn’t aware of the Life Pedal. Boy, did I miss something! I’ve struggled getting fuzz sounds out of the Helix that I really like, but I’ll definitely give this a shot.

People tend to say the Pedal Baby adds a amplike response to modellers. Did you think that it added something? I'm currently using a low cost class D power amp with my Iridium into a 2x12. I quite prefer the sound of the speakers over the IR, since IRs can't (yet) replicate speaker distortion and that's a big part of my tone. However, I found that the class D power amp adds a bit too much treble that's difficult to get rid of, and the dynamic response is a little weird. That's why I'm considering the Pedal Baby

I find the pedalbaby more amplike compared to class d poweramps- and you can dial back the treble a bit of you want. It has more of a vibrant midrange. An it has more than enough power.

@@tziminadisnt you could also consider the bluguitar Amp1 (mercury), that amp has a fantastic poweramp with a nanotube. Plus a full portable Amp with 4 channels in a small package. This is a great unit but the poweramp alone is really great for modellers. It does not have the treble an bass control of the pedalbaby though..

Yes I did and this would probably be the ideal order. There are several reasons for me using an alternative order: 1. I prefer the reverb before the volante because I like to use the SOS looper. 2. I use both outputs of the Iridium, one with IR for recording, second without IR into the orange pedalbaby for roomsound ( I prefer it over frfr-cabs) - and I do not use very much gain from the iridium, so using delay and reverb before works very good.
