How much did you pay for it man?
I think it was like 100 bucks on amazon.
how did it hold up over time
Honestly, the legs are a little loose, so I find myself often times tightening them to make sure they won't be slowing going down during use. Thanks for watching!
Picked up a 2017 SR5 with 50k miles.. KDMAX tune - whole new truck.. love it.
Makes all the difference!
Th video/audio quality of your video is as good as the monopod
Even better!
WoW!! It does look absolutely amazing!! You all sure did an awesome job on it!! Thank you for sharing it!. You both didn't give up, and now you get to enjoy the finished project, and tell the story behind it all, for many years to come!! It's certainly a very beautiful conversation piece!!
Thank you so much!
Imagine the portable 🚽 💀
good times
I'd be chased out of that place after I load my chili with a fuck ton of sour cream, cheese, crackers, and hot sauce
If it works for you than it’s all you need. Good deal btw.
I think I have the same table. What grit sandpaper did you use? I dying sanding mine with 120
Yeah it'll take some time, but we used various grit started with a more aggressive and then went o something more fine.
I’m on 120 and getting nowhere but gummied up on the paper
@@youknow1334 may have a finish on the table. Be sure there is no polyurethane on there.
@@Brad_Smith_Media definitely is. Got any suggestions. This is my very first attempt at anything. This is my very own kitchen/dining table. 20 years I’ve had it. Scared to death.
Hey Brad, I have 2021 TRD Off Road. I'm going for a similar look as yours with a leveling kit and bigger tires. Looking to keep the stock wheels. Can you tell me the specs on the tires and lift / leveling kit in this video? Thanks!
Hey Jeff! Thanks for watching! The leveling kit was already installed on the truck when I purchased it, and the tires were stock as well. I know that when I sold it, the guy who bought it did put 33" tires on it with no problems.
How long did this take you to sand down??
It took several days due to the complexity of the legs and base.
any update on the Tune? I had my tune this past Friday and it a new truck. One question, do you notice that It holds the 3 gear for a long time? maybe the computer still leaning, sometimes I feel it won't got to 5 and 6 gears
Thanks so much for watching! I didn't particularly notice a gear being held longer than the others. I was just glad I got to use 6th gear occasionally! But yeah, so much better!
Anyone future videos coming soon?
Possibly something new…
@@Brad_Smith_Media keep it up people enjoy your vids. Cheers!
Do you know of anyone around Charlotte N.C. area that will do the tune ? I've been trying to find someone to do my 2018 Tacoma for over a year now.
Negative! Sorry
Just had my kd maxx pro tune down about a month ago on my 17 gen 3 tacoma trd ofsb notice a big difference right from the moment I step on the accelerator after talking to my tuner he advised me to wait tell after the initial learning process expect 1 to 2 fill ups and it will only get better also just filled up again today, and because of bs gas prices didn't put 93 Oct. Although offered I went with the 87 tune I have yet to experience what my tuner said if I still put the 93 Oct . It will perform even more better response also didn't go with the sport tune just the one step below it was also recommended by my tuner if ,you want a more enjoyable experience and not to want to try and race everything at the red light lol remember it's still a truck and a bad ass truck it is but being a V6 is not design for one to do in that but it's definitely no sloth even after the tune one of the best mod I've done only regret should have done it sooner after owning the truck for just about under 3 years now. Just can't understand how epa is all about saving the planet bs and use less fuel but put strict regulations onto toyota and a after market companies better tune this engine than toyota who understands and built it wasn't allowed to tune at its close to peak performance for it I'm sure more was in play with this excutive decision just sucks that the manufacturer allow their product to go to the dealers lot like that especially a company like Toyota. For those of you that want close to tuned performance but want to wait on the tune just deactivate all the lsd and trac control default on from starting the vehicle bye holding down the trac button a little longer and activate your ect that's what I've done over the past few years to get bye to get a better performance out of this truck but again just find a tuner in your area and pay the extra money you will definitely not regret it.
I live in the Hattiesburg/Gulf Coast area. Do you know who I could contact for the tune? Thanks
They guys I used is is Carthage, MS... Thats a bit north of you. Still interested.. I think there are some guys near the LA area that do it as well.
I just got the KDMAX Pro tune. It fixed the transmission and dead throttle issue. It’s way more responsive now. Give it a try.
Where do I get this done ?
How much for the tune?
$300 for ECU update and the tune.
So simple, thank you!
Really good video man! New subscriber. I live in Hattiesburg, ms. and was wondering if you could give me some info on how to get in contact with the person you used?
Hey bud could u give me info on getting the tune
@@BrandonSmith-gi9nb hey shoot me an email to [email protected]
Are you still running on regular gas or premium?
Been running regular.
Thanks for the video. I am considering having this done to my new ‘21 Sport (under 70 miles on it). If there is anyone in Illinois or the Chicago area who can do this, please let me know! Thanks.
WOn't regret it!
Anyone here in Minnesota know anyone that can tune this!! Lmk
Hopefully someone can help you out! Thanks for watching.
I wonder what the reason is for Toyota not tuning them like this to begin with.. You'd think there would be some Tacoma enthusiast engineers at a meeting that would pipe up about the benefits..
You would think! Especially after hearing all the complaints from all the Yota owners!
How can I get this done in Mississippi
Shoot me your email address
@@Brad_Smith_Media I dm’d you on Instagram
Had my KD MAX tune for about 72 hours and it is night and day. I was going to trade my truck in cuz I was so tired of the hunting and lack of power! Not anymore! Best kid I’ve done should have done it 30k miles ago
I know the feeling! I was constantly thinking about trading it but it’s so much better now.
Where can I get the KD MAX tune? I live in Indiana.
@@blakerh Not sure I can help with Indiana, however, I would check FB and or Tacomaworld forums for a start.
@@Brad_Smith_Media I found someone in Cincinnati from the link you posted. He said it is 350.00. Not too bad.
@@blakerh It'll definitely be worth every penny.
I’m pretty sure my dads the one who did your tune…glad you’re enjoying it!
Would you mind sending me some info on how to get the tune done by your dad? I would greatly appreciate it!
Where do I get this done ? I’m in north west Ga
I had my KDMAX tune along with the ECO software upgrade done 1st today . WOW ! Yes night & day. My 2021 Tacoma runs like it should when I drove it of the lot 5 months ago.
It really is crazy how much improvement it is over stock tune. Thanks for watching!
Which option of the tune did you pick?
6.0 KDMax
Holds all your weed!
😂
Going to get mine tuned tomorrow can't wait! Thanks for the video it helped sway me to do it 🤙
You won’t regret it!
Does the KDMAX void warranty!!
Yeah. I believe it does.
Undetectable using techstream that toyota techs use. It just shows up as stock tune.
Hey man I’m in MS how do I get this tune?
shoot me an email address
Hey brad do you have an Instagram I could get in touch with I have a few questions about your experience with the tunes!
@BS_Taco or @smith_bradley
What year is your taco didnt catch it if you said it
Sorry about that. It’s a 2019
@@Brad_Smith_Media so has Toyota done anything to the 2021 and newer Tacoma’s to improve the shifts ? I’m looking to but a 2022 … still haven’t decided yet if I will order a manual shift or the automatic.
@@NorthwoodsNomad I'm not really sure what they've got in store for the next generation of Tacomas. I personally would wait and see what the specs will be.
@@Brad_Smith_Media Yeah … I’ve been contemplating waiting ( I’m hearing a 4th generation Tacoma is coming in 2023 ? ) it seems like a long ways away. However, I’ve been seeing some kind of trend happening in the automotive industry with new models coming out … it’s not very impressive. Vehicles seem to be slapped with an ugly stick , and they keep making everything with more BS gadgetry , and higher priced , less options . Like for instance for 2022 , you can’t get the JBL sound system with a manual shift transmission, like WTH is that all about !? And you can’t get a 6’ bed with a double cab OR access cab with a manual transmission. I’m actually fearful of what the next generation Tacoma might become ! And the UGLY lime green on the TRD Pro is somewhat of an indicator to verify what I’m talking about… Covid green is what I call it . They’ll probably revert back to a 4 cylinder anemic engine and half hybrid to appease the environmentalists and no manual option or some crazy BS … I’m telling you what , My thinking is I had better grab one now before it’s too late ! I have a bad feeling the next generation will be a major disappointment.
@@NorthwoodsNomad This is all true... However, I think Toyota did a Heck of a Job on the newly redesigned Tundra so maybe all is not LOST for the Taco?? But I do see what you're saying and agree with you. It's a crap shoot and you never really know until its released. But if you do wait, don't like what you see, then I'm sure you can find a great used 3rd Gen. Mine was gently used and Its value was still continuing to grow.
Great informative video! Any updates on mpg with the tune?
Just did a camping trip up to Red Top Mountain State Park in GA. The drive over was so much more pleasant than before the tune. MPG topped close to 19 at one time, keep in mind my set up is stock tires, but roof rack, bed rack, RTT and a few camping goodies. Thanks for watching.
@@Brad_Smith_Media I thought you would get alot more with the stock tires. I thought stock got 18 city already. Maybe it's more beneficial on mpg with bigger tire set ups???? Most reviews I seen have 285s that see gains.
@@jgoofy8722 Could be? I'm not real sure. I did have the bed rack, roof rack and tent on the truck... Those do add some weight - but again you're probably right. Thanks for watching.
@@Brad_Smith_Media you sold me on getting one if I can find a local tuner. Great content. Keep it pumping.
I would like the installers info please. I live in MS.
Enjoyed your review. I bought a new trd Thursday.
Thank you! I'm really enjoying the truck now.
Do you tow with it? Wondering how KDMax would be for towing about 3-4K cargo trailer
I don’t do a lot of towing but I have to think it couldn’t do anything but help on a stock Tacoma.
@@Brad_Smith_Media how about offroading with the tune? I can’t imagine better response would hurt that
@@hectichive889 haven't done any serious off-roading with the truck. However, the service roads and few dirt trrails have also been much more enjoyable. Again, this is just how the truck should have come from the factory. It seems like the responsiveness is what it should've been from day 1.
3rd Gen taco owners… Do yourself a favor and get tuned up.
Looks like $&@? !!!
looks like key stroke characters?! lol think you’re a little off. Best of luck.
Woodglut plans are amazing!
Awesome review Brad.... I went for the Tungsten 4p for when the Kelty Teton 2p is too small.
Thanks for watching! Yeah the Tungsten has some great room!
Doesn't the water accumulate on the lid after rain... Or is there a way water can fall off?

i need a comparison like that between limelight and mutha hubba:/ nice vid men !
Thanks for watching! If I pickup those two, I'll definitely do a review and comparison vid on them!
2019 trd sport 6 spd manual owner here. 1. Gas mileage (18 mpg and rarely city drive) sucks even though I have mastered shifting in the most economic (and not power having) manner. 2. The clutch pedal was replaced because springy noise. Sometimes I here the brake pedal make a "sprung" sound. 3. Qi charging pad doesn't work with my note 10 (the phone is too big to be centered correctly I guess). Bottom line: It seems reliable. It seems well built. The radar cruise control is nice. It isn't fun to drive in the raise hell sense. It drives fine in the daily driver sense. My 08 was half the price not adjusted for inflation, a single cab, and a five speed and it was super fun. I also second the dude below that said not knowing where the front of the truck ends is kinda a pain. If I needed a truck I'd buy it again if only for the build quality, reliability, and retaining of value.
great review nice editing
Thanks for watching!
