    Even at $154Aud for the Full Featured Version I have, I consider it a Bargain. If there's any Issues, the Support available is Superb. What's missed in this Video is the Ease of Use available with use of either the BlueTooth App, of the inbuilt Web Server. The Web Server's a no brainer; just connect to the devices AP with your phone & open the Webpage. You get all data & controls on well laid out Screens. Timer Functions too. Mines been running over 4 years now & consumed well over 500 litres, and is even integrated into my Home Automation Via MQTT. Would not touch the Ripped off Copies with a Barge Pole.

    I recently purchased the style that runs as a drill attachment. The beauty of the hand one you showed and the drill attachment one is they only pull on the mandrel. They do not rely on low/inconsistent friction of the threads as they pull by turning the "bolt" mandrel much like your DIY method does. I have also used the DIY method; however, I did not use a washer I just took the side of the nut facing the rivnut and roughened it with very course sand paper.

    I sent an email to Maxxfan asking if they had improved board coating and -or power issues. They replied-The new board will already come with the coating on them, adding any will void the warranty. Many people who use alternative power sources find it easier to add a voltage regulator to ensure that issues do not arise. Thought your viewers may have an interest....Thanks.

    I have heard about it being issues. On one phone call with a tech at maxxair that was the first question they asked. That’s never been an issue we’ve had. But something they look for. The moisture has always been the problem. I hope that helps!

    What you really need instead of a LOOSE NUT, is a NUT threaded onto the bolt with two flat washers after. Thread rivnut onto the bolt, hold bolt head with a wrench while using another wrench to turn the NUT clockwise as if to tighten and draw bolt in while collapsing the rivenut while NOT putting stress on the threads of the rivnut or bolt. Doing it like in this video is the lazy man's way. IF you need to do a LOT of rivnut, invest in the tool. The bolt/nut trick is for tight places most tools won't fit in, like corners or tight spaces.

    They make a different style of the lever operated version. Our Makerspace has one that loads just by opening the levers, it spins the threaded portion making it quicker to get a rivet nut on. Also I used a couple other ways as well too. A power steering pump puller has a bearing setup that works well. Another way was 2 pieces of plate & used 3 bolts. 2 of the bolts threaded into the plate & the 3rd into the rivet nut. Tighten the 2 bolts & it would expand the rivet nut. I made this version before finding the power steering trick. This was in probably 2008.

    The dude makes it really hard to buy these controllers. He open sourced the code, and there is a Scottish company that sells their own version based on the open source software, or at least a fork of it. I believe its called Ignite. But imo its a little too expensive, more than the heater itself!

    I've just been looking at shower and khazi solutions for a campervan here in the UK and seen various solutions on YT,, but this shower solution here is really good - I like it a lot. One question - how do you turn the water on and off for the shower head? Is it a case of having to set it going first before you get in, and then reach outside to turn it off afterwards, or is there a small tap integrated into the shower head itself?

  • @RoamOverlandVehicles
    @RoamOverlandVehicles5 ай бұрын

    Yeah the shower head has an on off button. Set your water temp at the tap. Turn it on and off at the head to save water.

    I can’t be 100% sure but if I recall I think this was the one. amzn.to/46oUfkQ The main thing that helps with the installs is the correct diameter fuel line. The cheap Chinese lines are usually too big. Also when installing the hose into the rubber hose fittings make sure they’re pushed all the way in. Hope that helps!
