He says in Bitmap Mode you can use 3 colours out of 16 freely. That's wrong. You can only use 2 freely/individually and 2 of the hole screen are shared by the hole graphic.

Your doing gods work. On a more serious note I am attracted to these chips. There aren't alot of all in one chips that have both an lcd grey scall controller as well as even simple sound.

6:14 “sadly, the Finder.” What? If Apple had not kept the Finder as the face of the Mac with OS X, Mac users would have revolted and Apple knew it. The Finder is the part of the OS that Apple went to court with Microsoft over and lost. Despite that the Finder is what makes the Mac, a Mac to many people. Sure, an enhanced Finder would be welcome now, but not then. Apple has a history of letting 3rd parties build utilities that modify Finder functionality, like tiling windows. That’s just the way it is. I’d like to see some Finder improvements now in 2024, but only light touches. The Finder IS the Mac.

Yeah, a lot of NEXTSTEP fans loved the Workspace Manager and thought it was superior to Finder. Maybe it was, but I think Apple could have offered a choice between the two on Mac OS X, and a choice between the classic "Platinum" theme and Aqua. I was not impressed with Aqua. 😐

@@nicksterj Yeah, I tend to agree with some of that. However, when I was working at Apple in the late ‘90s they tried offering an alternative Finder solution with At Ease, and it didn’t work out. Only Education k-12 used it. It was awful. In general Apple doesn’t like to offer two interfaces. It opens a Pandora’s box and goes against Apple interface design. Some people think that’s Apple locking down the system. I think it keeps people from getting OCD about interface concerns. That said, I didn’t like the Dock at all, and for the first release or maybe it was a beta thing, the Apple menu was in the middle of the menu bar. I was a big fan of System 7 back in the day. That was a sweet GUI for that kind of computing workflow. I do like Workspace Manager though. A power users GUI, although it had some design flaws too. So, you’re right, and they did add column view and a few other features from WM. And finally they’ve just now added window tilling! Innovation! lol. Seriously though, Apple used to prefer that 3rd party utilities modified the GUI. Now, I don’t think they believe in that so much.

@@TheSteveSteele I never really got to use NEXTSTEP but I thought it contained some advanced thinking that went beyond the Apple Human Interface Guidelines. I also recall that Apple was going to support UI theming in Copland, but that was abandoned. Nevertheless Apple seemed to forget a lot of those principles later on, releasing iApps that default to running full-screen and quitting when the main window was closed...I still hate that! Leave the app open, please! And the first time I had an app jump to the foreground suddenly, interrupting my typing, I concluded Apple had lost their way. :(

Unlike the 360 the ps3 doesn't use efuses to seed a unique per console key That's also a legal problem because then with each 360 legally I have full ownership of that per box unique id Yeah just figure out how to dump it yourself Just dump the lv0 keys on ps3 and nothing Sony can do Because you don't store your keys and internal 1bl boot flags on what's effectively an on CPU cpld or pld array, a otp one

I honestly wish I had the slightest clue how the hell someone goes about learning this kind of stuff from the very start and where to go with each next step that is actually graspable to the average punter, because this is just totally and utterly alien to me. It boggles my mind anyone can ever grasp this stuff. But, really frustratingly, I kinda get the impression from everything I've ever even just slightly touched upon on this topic [or kinda related] that I'd need to basically understand stuff at this level to ever really figure out how the living Christ to program for SNES myself (that's what I'm actually interested in). Because the community most certainly isn't making SNES development tools that just regular more casual game makers like me might want to use or indeed can use. Real shame it's still all so complex and beyond the grasp of most people. And, seriously, what the hell subject are people taking at high school or wherever that somehow provides them with the very basic knowledge required to even remotely understand where to start and the where to go next to be able to one day actually do this kind of thing with any semblance of competence. Every single time I try to start learning using whatever resource online, I reach a moment where I'm like, this cannot be the start, I've missed something, there's some step I need to understand that I should have known about before this point, because they're talking about stuff that I just don't have a clue about, yet the talk as if I'm already supposed to know it someone, even though they themselves never taught me about it prior to them mentioning it right now. It's just so frustrating to think I'm missing some fundamental piece of a puzzle here, some essential knowledge or even just some way of thinking about things that others seem to be able to do, and cannot for the life of me figure out what it is.
