    You did good brother. Keep grinding. You hit a lot of your apex’s and lines were clean - that on power understeer was killing you. Maybe soften up that front bar to help get the back end to rotate while on power? Dont get down on yourself. Your lap times were consistent and thats good!

    Was there a yellow light on the marker on the left after T8? Looked like it was yellow but no accident there.

    That was all tire noise - choppy tires. Acura TL loved to warp rotors and then the subsequent vibration under braking created choppy tires.

    Nicole Smith Yes, indeed. That was intentional. It was recorded at a low frame rate without audio as I always intended to speed up the video for replay. This video is a supplement to a post on Acurazine that outlined the process. Unfortunately I’m on mobile now, so I don’t have the link available.

    AP is a joke after the update. Driving 60 miles shaking the wheel. Not worth a penny anymore.

    How come Autopilot is driving at a few miles above the speed limit it detects?

  • @krispippin40
    @krispippin406 жыл бұрын

    AutoPilot hardware v2 doesn't read speed limit signs, it uses GPS to use map data to know the road speed. You can set cruise control speed to whatever you want, just like any other car. As you can see by the other cars on the screen, I was matching traffic flow.

  • @hkdobrev
    @hkdobrev6 жыл бұрын

    That's too bad. I thought it'd use a combination of GPS + cameras and computer vision which is the premise behind the new Autopilot.

  • @krispippin40
    @krispippin406 жыл бұрын

    It will at some point in the near future. The older AutoPilot hardware/software (MobileEye was the manufacturer) would read speed limit signs. The new, in-house produced hardware/software doesn't yet read signs.

    David Nope, that’s different functionality. Autosteer is only available at up to 5mph over the speed limit on non-divided highways. So when the speed limit drops on a surface road putting you at more than 5mph over the speed limit, it will automatically drop your set speed.

    What if i told you, you can just hold the hand on the wheel the whole time like you are supposed to and not have any nagging at all?!

  • @krispippin40
    @krispippin406 жыл бұрын

    What if I told you I was touching the wheel the whole time exactly like I do driving my other non-AutoPilot-equipped vehicles? There is a threshold of torque application to the steering wheel that must be met for the car to register your hands on the wheel, and if you have a light touch to start with you might not cross that threshold.

    That would drive me crazy. This is driving me crazy. Apparently my driving style is a very light hand on the wheel, so I'm not triggering the detection threshold for having my hands on the wheel.

    Notice any improvement? Or just increase nagging and cars in next lane on screen?

  • @krispippin40

    I haven't driven with it enough to really say. Honestly, it was good on the previous version (2018.18.13 I think it was? The one with improved braking.), and the places I use it are just highways/interstates with clear markings - I'm not challenging it. I've only had the Model 3 for about a month, so I didn't experience the earlier versions of AP to really know how the initial AP2 software handled.

    Kris Pippin yeah it handles really well for RWD. Better than I thought, more fun than the S, honestly. I need to tint also and ppf on front. Did you do the back in one piece and what percent? Trying to decide.

    I had the whole rear glass done in a single piece at 20%. I like it a lot. I did a little evening driving last night and didn't feel like it was too dark for watching cars in the rearview mirror.
