Welcome to Texas Backyard Wildlife!
We share our Austin home with dozens of other animals - foxes, raccoons, deer, rock squirrels, snakes, owls, skunks, hummingbirds... Some live here with us, under the deck or high up in a tree, some are just passing through. Every day we see something new, a new butterfly, a new bird, a new behavior.
We have recorded thousands of hours of video and taken hundreds of photos of the creatures who live in our yard with us here in Austin - eating, playing, taking care of babies, hunting, and just hanging out. Texas Backyard Wildlife is our way of sharing this with our neighbors here in Austin and around the world.

when we were yonge in 1980's in the Balkans south eastern europe we would look for wasp nests when we found one like 20 of us would pelt it with rocks and run into the corn field some kids well the fast ones made it while the slower ones got stung bad some to the hospital i remember this one kid his eye balooned like he had another head

I got stung in the bottom eyelid by a yellow jacket when I was 13 and I remember my nanna had some snuff(chewing tobacco) in her mouth and she slapped that stuff on my eye, man them was some good times😂😂😂

My cat got bit in the mouth by a yellow jacket wasp. It was a horrible day. It left her with a slightly bulbous lower lip. She was still cute though.
Had one of these wasps not to long ago stuck for a day in my room well next time I see that thing I'll not be as calm sitting there again
