Hello, @ImWalde 😊 Can I link your KZread videos to my story about the 1940s? I thought putting the link of your videos to my work and let them listen to the music you curated would greatly help my readers visualize the colorful old Manila.
Bax's chamber and solo piano works are very good as well
Is this a classical song ?

Mahler owes so much to Wagner obviously ... 20:58 to 22:54 Siegfried Idyll and Parsifal with a wink to brunnhilde's sleep motif.

This is the third composition I've heard by this composer, and I must say, I find Kuo Chih-Yuan a first rate composer. This is again a marvelous piece of music. Thank you so much for making his music known to us.
Check the old piano pieces. Do they have dates? They should.
The songs were recorded when the technology was available. But they existed long before.

This is so good! But I am disappointed that Goldie and Donna Donna didn't get together at the end of Act II.
For the incoming grade 10! Small review here. Medyo dissonant (hindi pantay-pantay or out of bounds) ang mga notes and melodies isn't it? That's what "impressionism" is. Late music starting from 1870s to 1930s are atonal and dissonant. For example, late liszt works are atonal and sounds very odd compared to his previews works but his compositions still fall into romantic music. This is where compositions start to change when claude debussy founded impressionism for music and one of the earliest founders of avant-garde (o sa madaling sabihin.. unusual, hindi kaayaya, kakaiba) genre in music. Filipino composers like antonio molina were inspired with impressionism as it is new at the time around 1910s. New, therefore a trend and musicians try and adapt to a new era. 💭: "So bakit nga sobrang weird ng compositions at that time?" At those times, Experimental kasi sila and they want to hear what dissonant or atonality is.. sa filipino, gusto nila malaman kung ano ang musika pag ito ay hindi pantay pantay pakingan at mas nagrereflect pa sa emotions either yourself or iba. 💭: "Pero bakit nga" Art has no limits. It can be gruesome or not. That's how amazing human discovery is This doesn't only happen in music but it happens in art like structures, dances and performances. So bakit nga? The easiest way to explain this is, they don't like to stick only in one genre and they want to push art (including music) out of boundaries. So kaya, mapapaisip nalang kayo kung bakit magkaiba ang music ng 1980s na puro guitara, synths, drums compared ngayon 2010s na puro rap, beats, electromusic na gawa through electronic devices like computer, cellphone, and so on. If you want to hear late Liszt's works that closely falls to avant-garde pero it is still romantic, take a listen to "Liszt - Bagatelle sans tonalité"
Just to add something. Take note that impressionism is still slight dissonant. When expressionism era started, it conveys much more power and extreme dissonance

In the 1970's the classical station KDFC in Los Angeles would play this every Thanksgiving - I fell in love with it then and although I'm no longer in California I listen to it every Thanksgiving!
Very very beautiful. The spiritual art of silence.
I miss the 6th grade. I remember painting the Hansel and Gretel stages.
