    Im not really sure what Rhaenyra is expecting Alicent to do, go tell Aegon "Sorry honey but i misinterpreted what your dad said so can you go ahead and set aside your crown and kneel to the lady responsible for the decapitation of your 4 year old son"? Criston Cole's twin plan is actually genius in comparison, as it actually had a non 0% chance of success.

    This episode had so many great sequences! -The almost horror vibe scene with Daemon creeping around Harrenhal at night during a downpour was so awesome! -Rhaena catching a glimpse of Criston Cole and Gwayne and trying to get them before they got to the cover of the woods (she should have instantly had her dragon breath fire she would have got them! Or burned a circle around them trapping them). -How many bodies they made it look like were there as the aftermath of just a single battle that wasn’t even 100% official battles yet. -Aemond showin dong at the brothel lol and walking away with that awesome blue eye. -And Rhaenys had so many incredible moments this episode!

    ‘The song of Ice and Fire’ prophecy is highly confidential and only passed on to heirs! Rhaenyra would not gain anything from sharing this with Alicent, she would actually weaken her own position as the one and only valid heir and betray her father’s trust. This info is so explosive that it cannot be spread (even less so to an enemy).

    "Always coming and going, aren't you? And I have to clean up afterwards." - Daemon calls Baelon "Heir For A Day", which further solidifies his heartless reputation and was the push Viserys needed to banish him. Because of this, Rhaenyra is finally named heir and although she is happy at first, the hardships catch up to her and she doesn't have anyone for support. - Daemon isn't around and is occupying Dragonstone, which is supposed to be her castle as heir. Even then, Daemon disrespects her deceased brother and she has to be the one to fly to him. After getting the egg and cleaning up for the Crown, Rhaenyra deals with the *small* consequences of disobeying her father (even though any other way to retrieve it would've been bloody). - Her father marries her best friend, which makes her rightfully angry and even more alone. Daemon has fucked off to the Stepstones and she has no one. When Daemon returns, he hatches a plan to get them married but backs out at the last minute. Rhaenyra's honor is still compromised after being seen in the brothel. Daemon touching her and then running away results to her sleeping with Criston. This makes Viserys push for her marriage even harder. Although she didn't help by lying, this sequence of events started by Daemon also removes Alicent from her side. Daemon is once again banished, leaving her to deal with it alone. - Once she has accepted her marriage, Daemon disobeys Viserys and comes back at her wedding celebration. She dares him to take her and marry her in Dragonstone, but chaos ensues and once again, he runs away and leaves her. - Without Daemon around, Rhaenyra finds love in another. She ends up having bastards with Harwin - but imagine how easy this would all be if her sons were Daemon's bastards instead. There's an element of being pressured by her position as heir to produce children and you can also say that she chose to do it with Harwin out of love, but I don't believe she would have chosen Harwin over Daemon if he were there. - Now they are married. She trusted Daemon enough to ask him to be her consort and after years of trust and as a grieving mother, she asks him for Aemond Targaryen. Intentional or just a mistake, the death of Jaehaerys instead (a child, rather than Aemond AKA an adult already known for kinslaying) puts her claim in danger and ruins her name. They fight. He leaves. - Rhaenyra's "You left me." in Season 1 and her conversation with Mysaria in Episode 2 made all this clear. "He's gone. A week or forever, I do not know." "He does do that, doesn't he?" --- In Harrenhal, Daemon sees young Rhaenyra because adult Rhaenyra has made her low opinion of him clear. He seeks comfort in the person who put him on a pedestal, the naive princess. But instead of comfort, he sees that she is angry. Even young Rhaenyra is angry, because all his mistakes with her started when she was young. She was sewing Jaehaerys' head, aka "cleaning up". Now, this is from the showrunner's perspective: He also sees young Rhaenyra because the mistrust and unresolved issues go both ways. Young Rhaenyra was the one who "stole" his throne. He is the King Consort now, but he still feels like it was taken from him and the root of his issues lie with young Rhaenyra being named heir. That scene was him facing his issues and his mistakes. Harrenhal is cursed, as they say and Daemon is just starting to experience it.

  • @rai2423
    @rai2423Сағат бұрын

    It’s interesting that young Rhaenyra stole his throne. Cause even if Rhaenyra wasn’t named heir, Viserys would still have married someone else and had children. I don’t see how Daemon would’ve ever genuinely thought he would be king one day. He’s just the younger brother. But hey who knows.

  • @nevaehaho61

    No they’re not Daenerys’ eggs. Dany’s eggs were laid by Dreamfyre (Helaena’s dragon) about 50 or so years before this. At the time Dreamfyre was ridden by another Targaryen named Rhaena, and her girlfriend Elissa Farman stole three eggs from her and sold them across the Narrow Sea to buy a ship. We were told when Fire and Blood came out that we would learn where her eggs came from in that book. They can literally only be Dreamfyre’s

    About the visions, I want to bring attention to one nobody talks about. One specific vision weve been told of could have avoided this whole conflict, if it had been followed. And im thankful the person who saw the vision did not follow through on it, because then we would not get this amazing story :D Everyone seems to fully believe in Aegon's prophecy, which came to him in a dream and told him to go and conquer Westeros because the world would need Targaryens and their dragons to survive the long night. People also point out how you need to listen to Helena when she speaks, because she is a "Dreamer" and have visions about a lot of stuff. Like when she says Aemond would get a dragon but loose an eye. Viserys spoke of "dreamers" in the Targaryen line, people who could see visions of the future. In the books there are many prophecies mentioned within the bloodline of the Targaryens, like Dany receiving a vision showing the red wedding as an example, which was cut from GoT. The reason I bring this up is that everyone seems to forget about the vision that we have been told of twice in season 1 of House of the Dragon. The vision I talk about is Viserys' vision. Nobody in the fandom talks about it at all, at least not from what ive been able to find. Which kind shocks me. The song of ice and fire is brought up both in the world HotD and by fans. Why is this? (Aside from fans knowing its true thanks to GoT, and the charecters in HotD having a dagger with the song of fire and ice written down on it) I think it might be because Viserys did not do as the vision told him, unlike Aegon the conqueror. Aegon went and conquered westeros because his visions showed him it needed to be done. Viserys' vision told him he needed to put a son on the throne because all the dragons would roar as one when he did this. In other words, there would be no civil war between dragons if he had named Aegon heir. We are told this in episode 1 and episode 3 of season 1 by Visyrys himself. The vision is saying how civil war would be avoided, and the dragons saved, so there would be plenty for when the long night arrives. A civil war will result in the beginning of the end of dragons, and we know this because they aren't around anymore in GoT, not until Dany wakes 3 of them anyway. Just think about how difrently thing could have gone had Viserys followed his vision isntead of his heart. Viserys wanted so badly to believe he was a "dreamer", like we Helena and Aegon the conqueror is/where. And he actually was, the only difference between him and the Conqueror was that he did not follow through on what his vision told him to do. This was because of the grief he felt at the loss of his beloved wife, who died in his pursuit for a male heir. This made him question the vision, and ultimately let him to not name Aegon as the heir, despite the vision. I kind of feel like im the only one who remembers this vision, so just wanted to throw it into the discussion. As i feel like its an important piece that has been overlooked by fans:) (Sorry for any gramatical mistakes, english is not my first language)

    Telling Alicent about the whole prophecy would be the dumbest thing ever, do you guys really believe Aegon would just give up the throne if his mother told him about the dagger and the prophecy? He would use that in his favor, Rhaenyra would lost the only thing she has in advantage to defend her claim, to defend that her father always chose her. She was wise to just plant the seed of doubt in Alicent without telling her of everything. She was wise to not give this to the enemy.

Yes it was a risk plan but Rhaenyra had to make a last desperate try to consiliate. Alicent would be the most safe for her to do this.
