Hey Bruno! A great video as usual! Shame about the camera battery! Some awesome scenery over there! Are you still flying? I've noticed a few aviation YT'ers posting less lately. I hope you're well, and hope to see some more videos from you at some point! A long-time viewer from the UK.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeas I’m still flying just not posting many videos. I lost a lot of enthusiasm when I got smacked down by the FAA w few years back. I wish you the best.

What was the big deal? That was standard sailplane air show stuff. Many sailplanes, like his, are fully aerobatic as well. He had clearance to perform over the airfield, and he didn’t do the aerobatics over the spectators. Just because sailplanes don’t have engines, many people make assumptions and misunderstand their safety & capabilities. It’s common to do loops, spins, wing overs, etc.

The FAA is highly politicized shop ran by forced DEI leadership with little to no qualifications. Thanks for making a joke out of a once very professional and needed organization. Why are gliders of all things preyed upon but cities can be burned to the ground with no arrest. Like I said. Total joke.

Is this rule drilled into every student pilot? If not, it's reasonable that the pilot would never have known.

The Helicopter should yield his right of way. The GLIDER has ATC clearance and is engaged in low level flight. The jackass Helicopter has engine power. Why the helicopter doesn’t hold outside is insane. The helicopter pilot should be fined for this incident.

as a paraglider pilot I though when you enter the first courve: Now level off and go straight to soar accros the edge, then to a right turn back. Guess my instincts where right? 😉

I wish the FAA was more interested in the drug smuggling that's right in their face but instead with transponders turned off flying into small airports (actually deleted the one I know of because I would rather not suicide myself..) apparently drug smuggling is ok but this is not?

Happened to me too! I flew with Air O'Dell Flight School. I flew a glider in a similar way to you. It was absolutely thrilling seeing what the machine can do. But a was running low on fuel and glided it back to the runway. I was reported to the FAA for this apparent infraction and had my licence suspended for 6 months.

Winching… Yeah, it’s how I learned, here in UK, in open cockpit gliders too. Quite dramatic at first; even more so if you get a cable break in the steepest part of your climb out. As you’re already sitting back in the cockpit, when the cable breaks your mind screams that your ‘going over the top’; at least at first, ’till you get used to it 🤣Anyway, great fun 😎

Yea you live and you learn. I don't think the FAA was being overly strict. Air shows used to be pretty dangerous events to attend. Since the rules and regulations inacted by the FAA there's been very few fatal accidents in air shows. I'm glad you got to keep your license! Happy flying!

That's an example of a high speed approach my friend .. Even a helicopter floats it it's got enough speed.... An real example would be 2 approaches at the same speed ... 1 bleeding airspeed off at 3ft the other at 50ft and compare the touchdown point on the runway..
