Ready to learn Lightburn and YOUR CO2 Laser FAST? You're in the right place!
You're not alone! Not too long ago, I was in the same boat as you! I had made my first few Glowforge projects, but what was next? I didn't have a design background, a social media presence, or a customer base - YIKES!
There were so many resources to sift through, KZread, Facebook, Glowforge forums, Adobe Illustrator Trainings, Suppliers, Etsy, SEO, Website building, so overwhelming!
So I buckled up and spent the better part of a year sorting through all the resources. I pieced together bits and pieces to find what worked for me, so you don't have to!
You're probably looking for some simple resources to get you heading in the right direction as you build your business, right?
GREAT! That's what I'm here for. I'll help you get up to speed faster than I did and with fewer costly mistakes through video, courses, blog posts, guides, and even one-on-one coaching sessions!

loving it, Keep up the good work!!!!
Love listening to this
Hii!! Thanks so much for your video. I wanted to ask if your acrylic warped or anything? I’ve watched a lot for research and most needed to weigh it down to prevent the warping, and also some have shown themselves needing to scrub off the sub paper afterwards. Did you have any of these issues? Thank you!
Yes to warping - I put something VERY heavy - maybe a bunch of books on top after to avoid. No to scrubbing paper - Mine didn't stick!
I'm new from Algeria 😊
Yes
YES, I would like to learn how to do it.
Is there any instructions on how to connect the brackets?
The drop downs? I haven't actually seen any instructions for that - let me know - I might be able to do a quick video on it.
@@ThingsKatieMakes I figured it out, thank you!
Hi do you know if the laser engraving would expose the lead within the cup ? The lead is located under the bottom behind that little round piece though
I've never heard of anyone exposing the lead - the engraving removes the layer of powder coating, so should be ok?
I'm new
Welcome!
Beautiful
thank you!
Can these project be done on a glowforge aura?
Nope - these are the plus or pro series
Are these tests for the glowforge aura
Sorry - plus or pro series
I'm just getting started with a Glowforge Pro. I have been thinking that I want to cut the graphics and lettering for my signs from acrylic instead of painting. I really appreciate your videos!
I’m not the best painter so acrylic is a BIG savior for me!
This video was so helpful for a laser newbie like myself. 👍 I absolutely love the flower wrap you did on this cup. Is the file available for purchase ?
Thanks Katie! Question - what are the two fonts you used in this sign? Thanks!
Hey @laserNUG! Nice to see you here :) the script one is called ball pen: creativemarket.com/VladCristea/1100685-Ball-Pen-Handwritten-Font and the other is called Indigo - creativemarket.com/OnTheSpotStudio/25392-Indigo
@@ThingsKatieMakes Thanks a bunch!
What kind of material do you use to make them?
Acrylic - all different kinds
I have a TON of that ruler tape from when I taught elementary...such an EPIC way to use it for personal GF projects! TY for the inspo!
You got it!
c o o l
YES, I LOVE ADDING "FREEBIES!" I MAKE GRATITUDE PKGS FOR MY CUSTOMERS, ALWAYS!
I love that!
Jill’s work is beautiful and so unique! I’m loving these maker videos.
She’s so very talented!
I'm feeling really worried about the fire risk and fumes and noise level. Have you ever had to put out a fire? If I vent out the window and have a trash can with a lid, will it still smell bad? Do you wear noise protection?
I wouldn’t worry much about fire - if you pay attention and are vented properly, you’ll catch any small fires before they become something big. Off cuts can still smell after cutting, especially acrylic. You can add fine extractors if it bothers you. I don’t wear noise protection, but maybe I should!
@@ThingsKatieMakes Thank you!
What type of 3m product do you use to layer the acrylic names?
I have a video about glues that should help! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJx9y5qQoZbRZ5M.htmlsi=RHDvVdY2_BiLZ4kC
Thank you! I had no idea this site existed. What a great resource.
Awesome - glad it helped!
You mic needs compression
Thanks - don’t use that one anymore
Where did you get the Hearth and Home font duo from? Thanks!
Creative Market - you can find it here: creativemarket.com/michael.gilliam/1875060-Hearth-Home-Font-Duo?PPC_GOOG_PerfMax_Shopping_US_Fonts&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwuJ2xBhA3EiwAMVjkVALD6RpKCm18ixs3vgs0VbQ3unjOLbiQ7kQFulWxSlsybcdGC7RdhRoC_s0QAvD_BwE#fullscreen
Where is the best source for the cups?
For Stanley or Non-branded?
I’m sorry 15 minutes in and you’re making absolutely no sense. You didn’t really say anything at all.
Ok - how can I help you?
Would like to see some chrome etching, like for auto or motorcycle bling parts. 😊
Wrong laser type! Need a fiber or UV for that
Think you could squeeze one in front of that window. 😊
Or use some TIO2
@@CruiseMonkeyGames right? there has to be room
I've watched hours & hours to learn how to do these magical wraps. You're the first one that actually showed from design to engrave! I can't thank you enough for your video. I don't feel so intimidated now.
Awesome!! So glad it helped
I was watchinh Think Media with Sean and found your show on his Christian show " podcast" ! Bless you! I sure Would love to colaberate with you! I have my email in my discription box! Bless you, your family, your platform and our Subscribers that we call family, always in ALL WAYS! Your content is AWESOME!
Well thank you!
Wow I didn’t realize the amount of work for ONE cup! Is this easily repeatable if you have 20 cups todo?
Yes, once you get one all set up, subsequent ones are much easier!
nova 24 also has easy positioning and all the features you have on the bolt are on all nova series, you just need to know where to find them, speed, power can all be changes on the fly, changes are made when the controller detect the next node group, so changes are not instantaneous, but start on the next node group, you dont need to remove the lens from nozzle in the 24 to clean it
Yep - I like that you can change the speed and power on the fly in the Nova, but the little turtle and rabbit in the bolt is extra handy for precise placement
nova 24 has autofocus, just press down button the press autofocus button and its done, you have to set the nozzle correctly first,
Fair, a different type of auto focus on the nova - it uses the bed sensors, not a probe
Hi Katie, I listened to the podcast with you on laser everything. Do you have a discount code for CMB ? I’d like to get you something back. You seem very helpful in the laser community!
I appreciate that so much! You can get 10% off your order using this link: i.refs.cc/CrrX0pg6?smile_ref=eyJzbWlsZV9zb3VyY2UiOiJzbWlsZV91aSIsInNtaWxlX21lZGl1bSI6IiIsInNtaWxlX2NhbXBhaWduIjoicmVmZXJyYWxfcHJvZ3JhbSIsInNtaWxlX2N1c3RvbWVyX2lkIjo3OTg5NzAyODh9
Thank you for this video! I have had my glow forge for a few months, but just got the nerve to start with it today. I made the gift of good measure. That went great. My question is I downloaded the peg pens, but what do I do to get them to the glow forge to cut. I can figure out the glow forge machine, but where Im going to have a hard time is the computer side of it. Like to import that file into glow forge, and if so, how? Any help is appreciated.
You should see a place to import a design in the Glowforge software and you’ll find the SVG file you’ll want to upload from there - if you’re in the screen that shows your laser bed - it will be the big plus sign
Hello! I enjoyed watching your video. Can this be done on brass metal stamps as well?
The engraving portion? If so, not with a CO2 laser - it can’t engrave metal
Amazing job 🙌🏻. I’d highly recommend a set of calipers for quick & super accurate diameter measurements rather than a tape 😊
I have calipers but still prefer the tape - I find I use it for all sorts of things
It's called a line-level
Thank you!
Could be a good idea for some but all my layers except 2 are preset for either cutting or engraving different materials. The 2 unset layers is for something I don't do often so I can play around with them
If you load an old file after playing around, your layers will come back the way you’ve set them
Thank you for video But ı dont figure out deviation. May you assist me
Sorry - not sure what deviation you’re talking about
How are you charging? Is it just time of machine? Or you adding a seperate rate for your design time too
I add cost to design if I’m creating an original design. Otherwise I have a base rate and then any additional time for the machine
Hi so is the E600 dry clear? Is it good to bong wood to acrylic?
Yes - dries clear - depends on your color of acrylic!
@@ThingsKatieMakes clear acrylic to MDF
I wouldn’t say it is great for clear - clear is tough, you’ll want something super strong and minimal
@@ThingsKatieMakes what do you recommend?
How did you know the steps per rotation?
For the Talon - Jason from Rotoboss provided a starting point that I checked with a test rectangle - checking that the size is what I expect.
@@ThingsKatieMakes thank you!
great video! used it to create my first full wrap for my wife (Came out waaaay better than I expected). Someone is selling a 3d printed level that spans a whole 40oz edge to edge, would that be the most accurate way to get a 40oz level? I also see there is some adjustment for the air hose, would moving that up to avoid changing tilt work better? Thank you!!
I wouldn’t mess with that too much - it will direct it differently! And that 40oz level sounds cool!
Thank you for a fantastic video!
Thank you for watching :)
Great video, you are the wrap GOAT.
I have great tools and friends who help me out - thank you my friend
Appreciate the shout out! Great video Katie
Of course! If people want precision - they know who to go to :). Appreciate you as always.
Thank you so much this is the video I needed to see. I just got my bolt with 4” lens a few weeks ago.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes :)
The black tool you use to hold the ring - do you have a link to it?
I can't find the exact same ones - but there are very similar: amzn.to/3Iu3Wof
