I think Trevor Woods is actually at the right spot…. Because of his pass coverage skills and his strength against the run-if he can learn the gap scheme of the LBs he can play on the next level because OLBs in the league have to pass cover and Trevor can do that really well

What are William’s expectations for this szn?? He’s super high on the trenches (as I am too) and this team clearly doesn’t lack high end talent with its skill players too. Bowl game fs but 8-9 wins? Double digits? B12 champ appearance/win??

  • @ianrowland8357

The schedule looks really tough rn but I think it’s laid out pretty nicely. I feel like if they get a few bounces their way in close games they could definitely be in the b12 chip.

I knew last line would be a problem when Prime got on them during the summer after a scuffle. During the season after the Chase Blackburn cheap shot on Hunter. Shedeur was the only one he got in Blackburn's face. Soft O-line confirmed, even against ASU. ASU had players on top of Shedeur trying to twist his helmet and landing cheap shots. O-line did nothing. They didn't bother picking Shedeur up from the ground half of the time.

Lastly, the team last year didn't play as a group. It's like they played on pairs of 2, maybe 3 instead of 11. I tried to make sense what they were doing on defense. I didn't see a whole lot of communication in on the D-line. ILBs seemingly were doing their own thing which hurt the team most. The secondary was filled with individuals. The Standford game, the safeties were the screw up. I know people got on Carter, Hunter, and Cooper. But those safeties were out of position taking bad angles, and missing tackles. Hunter should have taken himself out, and when evidence he couldn't handle the WR on his side? The safety should have been there. The O-line, in particular the left side failed at double teams and blitz pickups. The center would pass a DT off to the left guard so he could get the blitzers. One of the Jacks would either react late, or not react at all. Big Tank, same problem, he would handle the DE and try to pass the blitzer off to one of the Jacks and they would fail to pick them up. WRs, same problem, when they were not the hot route they would half ass the route. Jimmy Horn did this nearly the entire 2nd half of the season. Look at his stats, two catched per game the last 4 with only two TDS during that span. He would literally disappear during large stretches. When you found him, he's running half speed. That's why you never have 600 yards or more receiving in a season.

I hear you about mindset. I remember back in the day, we played 1 of the tuffest teams that year and behind 5 or 6 points. I intercepted a pass in the enzone and brought down on the 1 yard line 😢I was hurt in my ❤️ but my best friend, and RB lightened the load by saying, by saying "we got them right where we want them " and Tommy ran 99 yard's 😅to win the game. Priceless experience

Travis GPA is great and football smarts are off the charts, but academically The Governor is a Boettcher Scholar and is thinking about applying to be a Rhodes Scholar. Both of those honors are ultra elite academic honors.

Adam, I became a CU fan when Coach Prime was hired--a Prime Time Buff fan, if you like. Realizing that you and William have been ranking the top Buffs for at least 10 years has kind of put my fandom in perspective. I just want to thank you, William and all of the "Original Buff" fans for welcoming me (and the many others) to Buff Nation. Hey man, I say welcome aboard, and I've been a part of CU Buffs Football since 1983! Anyone who struggled with the transition to Coach Prime needs their head examined. Look, I was THIS close to just giving up on the Buffs entirely by the time the 2022 season ended. Coach Prime brought this program, and me, back to life! I'll take as many new CU fans as we can get because it means we are doing something good, and I love it. So again, welcome, wear your Black and Gold with pride!
