Looks like a nice lock, the only thing I can think of though is that’s it’s such a shame they went for WiFi only connection, 2.4gHz only to add insult to injury. I love how it looks designed very sleek and nice solid looking. Would’ve definitely picked it up if it were Thread rather than WiFi. WiFi is a hard pass. Not only is it power hungry, but it’s also IMO more susceptible to a variety of interferences.

Two square ones will fit. They need to ditch the round shape

I really wish the round one were smaller. I personally kind of like them in that style, but unfortunately, I don’t think it’s possible to make them small enough to fit next to each other.

So what’s the shortest way to the shortcuts location without this knowledge it’s not really a short cut for example I can swipe diagonally and have my remote right there so that’s very quick show how these shortcuts are better than say this option

True, I’m excited for the upcoming update to iOS 18. You will be able to place your button where the camera or flashlight buttons are located. This will make it even more efficient, better than swiping. Thank you for the comment!

Thanks for the review. I’m coming to realize that when there’s a choice, Matter over Thread should be selected over Matter over Wifi. WiFi is too dependent on the coverage/quality of your WiFi network…most WiFi smart devices today are limited to 2.4ghz instead of both 2.4 and 5.0ghz availability…too many WiFi based devices being added could overwhelm the network. If WiFi goes out, at least the Thread network is designed to still operate.
@EdgarsHomeTechАй бұрын
First, I want to thank you for your comment. I understand what you’re saying and I agree. Additionally, I believe that there will be more Matter-over-WiFi devices in the future due to the bandwidth limitations of Thread.

Hi, quick question. During setup, I see an option called "Legacy." What does that term stand for? If I choose the bigger Homepod, what are the benefits of adding that one compared to the Homepod mini? Does the bigger Homepod work better than the Homepod mini as a hub?
@EdgarsHomeTech3 ай бұрын
Hello, and thank you for your question. Legacy is the name of my Apple smart home. To be honest, the only difference between the two is the sound quality. You really don't get any benefit from buying the bigger homepod as your Apple hub.

Hi! If you have your M2 Hub already in HomeKit and the mini switch is in the aqara app working. Try searching it in the room where the M2 is located in HomeKit. Typically aqara syncs all their child devices like that. Mine is locate in the kitchen so all the sensor go there first. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!
