    I wonder if anyone ever plays defense in that league. Not one team was reading keys. Horrible coaching on the other side of the ball...Its very well run wing T but no defense at all against it.

    It's a nice scheme, but what jumps out at me on this tape are how often defenders are looking in the backfield. Very good blocking, especially by both guards and the SE, but some misses, too, but it doesn't matter as the whole defense has their eyes inside on the FB and QB. Can't defend the Wing-T that way.

    The timing and ball handling is superb. I have 8/9 year old's this year and we are running a jet sweep offense (not out of wing T) and that has been the biggest challenge is the ball handling and timing. Well done, coach!

    Play as a Tackle for an offense that runs Wing T. Soooo much fun to completely confuse and blind side defenses with the all the linenen shifts and running in the back field

    This is one of the most confusing offenses to play against, especially when you’re on the field you can’t see who’s getting the ball with all those counters and shifts

    Dude yes! I played against Angleton and I tell you the plays that pissed me off the most were the Quick Pitch sweeps when the QB becomes a blocker 😡. My ass got cut so many times and pancaked and I tackled the wrong guy about 60% of the time.

  • @rickymichaels3348
    @rickymichaels33486 жыл бұрын

    Here you a good tip. The best tip. Forget the shifts and blah blah blah. The center always blocks the direction the ball is going to be ran.

    Obviously you have never defended a quality Wing T

  • @codyryan3807
    @codyryan38076 жыл бұрын

    Ricky Michaels that is not true. I played Center in a Wing-T offense and the Center blocks back side, because back side Guard pulls. Center takes on his man when he pulls.

    I ment opposite direction of the ball

  • @kielweiss3606
    @kielweiss36066 жыл бұрын

    Most Wing Ts will have the Center protect A gap regardless of what direction the ball is run, particularly in the 20 series (Buck Sweep). If you didn't the playside A gap NT will kill the play ever time.

  • @Mj-cg1fl
    @Mj-cg1fl6 жыл бұрын

    thats not right either. in certain series the C will block away, in some series he will block playside. learn before commenting.

    When do you use the shifting? Beginning of the season or district games?

  • @RyanJ504
    @RyanJ5043 жыл бұрын

    Depends on priority. You should probably get very good at running a series or 2 before worrying about shifts. Then you have to decide whether to focus on perfecting those plays, adding more plays, or adding shifts. Nothing saying you can't have all 3 though. It's just a matter of which comes first and how quick your kids learn.

    Does TE have to be in a two point in order to shift? Or can he be in a 3 point and still shift?

  • @kielweiss3606
    @kielweiss36066 жыл бұрын

    Have to be in a 3. As soon as a player puts their hand down they are stuck where they lined up until the snap.

  • @Mj-cg1fl
    @Mj-cg1fl6 жыл бұрын

    that is incorrect. only offense line with hand down may not take hand off the ground. anyone eligible may put hand down and pick it up and move.

    In the Wing T you dont always have to run the base 100.. 500 or 900 formations.. theres many different variations of the formations including the spread Wing T.. it's up to the coach and how well your players know the offense

    I have put this offense for over 50 youth teams and none of them are foot to foot. They do reduce their splits. 1 foot between center & guard. 2 feet between guard and tackle

    So the QB replaces the FB on traps correct? Is the QB making any reads on whether to run QB trap or bucksweep or is it predetermined like traditional under center Wing T?

  • @colonelrobertsjr.7882
    @colonelrobertsjr.78826 жыл бұрын

    Jeff Tatham Correct!! In the shotgun wing t the sweep comes before the dive and and like midline veer the QB reads the DT before giving or keeping. If the QB gives the ball the DT is playing gap responsibility.
