Here's my experience with the breed: My almost 16 months old male is usually not very biddable, doesn't usually have will to please unless motivated and has a low food and toy drive which can make motivating him difficult sometimes but once you find what motivates him it's easy to work with him. He's affectionate and loves cuddling but can be also independent and mind his business. When someone enters the yard he immediately greets them and wants pets. He loves outdoor activities like hiking in the mountains or going on walks and also training sessions but not too long. He definitely prefers to be outside over being inside. He's usually neutral with other dogs. We're teaching him to ignore them so now he can ignore other dogs on walks or during training well usually. He's only sometimes interested in playing with other dogs. It depends on the other dog. If the other dog is friendly and wants to play and he likes the other dog then he will happily play with him. He doesn't like some other dogs, usually some other intact males, but he can ignore them and he also has friends that are intact males. With females he's usually fine regardless if they're intact or not but he doesn't like females that are too pushy and want to force him to play when he's not interested so it depends on the personality. He seems to prefer smaller dogs but also has several bigger dog friends. He's a great guardian and almost always alerts when someone is passing by our yard to let us know but as soon as they come in he will greet them, will be very friendly and want cuddles. He loves people and isn't reserved towards strangers or anything like that. He doesn't mind them and ignores them when on walk but if they show interest in him he will gladly let them pet him and will be very happy if they do so since he loves when people give him affection. He's good at ignoring cats outside but if they're on the other side of the fence then he will usually bark at them. He doesn't have a very high prey drive as it seems. My shiba mix has definitely much higher prey drive than him. His prey drive is much lower than I expected. He seems to be only interested in rodents and birds. He does great in any enviroment he has been to so far. He was fine in the city, in a candy shop he visited, great at the vet, inside our flat and let us know when he needs to go out potty which we didn't even need to teach him because he started doing it by himself. He didn't need to be taught that at all which was surprising. He walks well on a leash and was taught not to pull unless he's allowed to which he usually respects but since he's still young he sometimes tries pushing boundaries by trying to pull when he shouldn't but stops right after being told not to do so. He knows the difference between when he's allowed to pull and when not.
I love YLs. They're amazing. I've wanted one for years and last year I finally dog one. He's now almost 16 months old 😊
They hate meeting strangers 😂😂 my 12 years old Parson still walks down the street praying that some stranger will look at him so he can wag his tale and be important.
Pretty sure my black dog is a Kelpie. Looks just like the thumbnail except black. They told us he was a rat terrier
Nice! Love them❤
My Jackie made babies with a Parson, his name is LEMMY, the babies are hillarious
I also have a Coton and he is the best !!
My jrt is super social
Keine Überlegung !!! Einmal Hoverwart immer Hoverwart !!!
Hi, in the video I am ,you can mark my accountt🤝
I absolutely love our Parson Russell we got from a rescue when he was 1 year old. He's smart and has so much personality. I swear he understands English. 🤣🤣
I just got my girls dna test back and she’s mainly mountain cur. I’ve never heard of this breed before but it explains a lot, she looks and acts so similar!
I owned a Scottish Deerhound as a teenager and she was 100% fine with cats. Never even got a hint she wanted to chase them. We did have to raise our fence though as she could easily jump over the 5 and a bit foot fence we had before we got her. She used to go visit the neighbours, then come home without us even realising she had gone until she knocked on the front door to be let in.
I got one and he is so precious
my jack love water, baths and swimming
Sounds just like my Jack Russell
All 👍
Just the opposite...pitbull less large.
My JRT has his crate, all sides covered but door is always open. He goes to that when he's not in the mood for family action. Bucket F. Trouble is his name.
Can they still grab ducks or is this something that went away with generational progress?
My little welshie is so loyal and full of terrier energy, she loves a snuggle and is brilliant with our litter boy.
My jack russel loves strangers and swimming
MEU CACHORRO É UM TENESSEE
My JR mixed 8 mo puppy wants attention when he wants it ~ Period! If I am texting he will put his paw over my phone. 😂
In my case by apparently eating all my shoelaces
I was told I was picking up a Rat Terrier but my dog looks just like this breed
Our jack Russell keeps attacking other dog
It's for weak people
Some of the stuff that you said about a Corso is not true they're such an amazing dog
You're probably a Rottweiler owner as a Cane Corso owner I think you're biased
Ou la tu acheter ton kokoni chien
Our jack Russel hates warm weather meeting new people strange noises tv hates strangers
My daughter wants a jack Russell. Could someone donate me one for her?????
My jack always love tolisten and conmunicate with me. She does follow once you make sense
Fake, my jack love to see new friends a lot!
I have a Mountain Cur and an American English Coonhound and they get along great! They have set their own rule
So what is the difference between a Mountain Cur and a Black Mouth Cur?
My Reggie is more Parsons in size but he has a brown top to his head, big black patches on his back and black and brown spots going down his legs. He also has one ear up and one down, more a ratter than a show dog but he is remarkably handsome.
Got mine when he was a year old..I was 3rd owner..he actually is a good boy 😁
Jack Russell's are the best
Our Max would bite my fingers.
That’s an American bully. Pure bred pitbulls are much smaller, very athletic with crazy stamina, you didn’t even use an American bully that’s similar to a pit, that dog has more mastiff and bulldog than anything else in it
are cocker spaniels good gaurd dogs
I have an american cocker and i know that they are the smallest hunting breed. But think there is better breeds for guard dogs.
American
Baloney about housebreaking, training etc. I have a Chin. He was by far the easiest dog I ever housebroken. His breeder had a puppy door so he eliminated outside as soon as possible. When I got him at 14 weeks he REFUSED to use papers in the house and only wanted to go outside. As any other puppy, in the beginning you are taking them out every hour or two. But he was awesome. This breed is incredibly intelligent. They are on the same level as a Border Collie. My boy LOVES to run. They are known to do field trials. A good 30 minute walk is good for them. They DO NOT shed a lot. They have hair so they lose it as we do. A daily brushing is good but if properly groomed, can go every other day. Socialization. Chins love the world. They love every dog, rabbit, squirrel, cat, human, whatever. My guy doesn’t like birds because one scared him as a puppy. This is the best breed ever. I’ve had many dogs and nothing compares to a Chin. I love him to the moon and back.
Kills everything ...snakes ,possums, rabbits birds, turtles,in his yard .
Actually cropping a dog’s ears does have health benefits it’s easier to clean them and less likely for ear infections, for hunting dogs people cut them completely off to be less risky when they’re tangled up with a wild animal. What people say about it not having health benefits is only a petty assumption. Dummy
