One thing to with the potato dimension, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a reference to the aether mod. The main thing that solidifies this for me is the fact that when you fall in the void in the potato dimension you are just teleported high up in the overworld, just like how it worked in the aether.

Personally, I don't like the idea of an entire update focused on the end, because one of two things will happen: 1) it will have WAY too much unique functionality and new blocks/items with unique properties added to it, taking away from potential that could be in a NEW dimension. Then all the people who have been saying "But Mojang CAN'T make a new dimension, they said they had to make all the CURRENT ones throughly filled first" (Without realizing that statement comes from a Reddit post made before 1.13 was even out, meaning we've had oceans, village and pillage, nether, caves and cliffs, archeology, AND trial chambers since then, not even considering smaller changes from each of those like the mangrove swamps) will instead say "Do we even NEED a new dimension? What could they even possibly put in it?", or 2) It will ONLY add a couple biomes, blocks for them, and a mob or two, which would be a MASSIVE waste of time to focus an entire year's update on considering datapacks can add new biomes in hours at the worst, and Java edition's internal data structure looks just like datapacks. They'd be done the whole update in 5 months if I'm being GENEROUS with the time I'm willing to give them if this is all they did. The only way I'd accept an update to a dimension that we were never even SUPPOSED to want to spend lots of time in is if it was paired with something else. Perhaps they spend half the update time on new end biomes and blocks and entities, and the other half on improving other aspects like finally adding the bundle, villager trade rebalance, maybe overhauling XP a bit, quality of life stuff like making minecarts turn the camera (and making them actually worth using for that matter...), and bug fixes. Heck, I've even got a name for it that plays on some achievement names- the Beginnings and Ends update. It makes changes to the early-game to make the end-game more worth getting to (with villager trade rebalance and possibly farm changes), and it makes the end-game have more stuff to provide to make up for the stuff they patched.

the copium levels are INSANE here. first of all, videos in A SERIES is not concrete evidence of any end update, you even disproved it yourself. second of all, the makers of the end cup (who aren't mojang) just decided to make it end themed, it's not hint at some ultimate complete end overhaul. third, I don't even know what to say about the portal animation point. it's an animation. why would they add it now instead of this supposed end update? it's just a generic improvement. fourth, you can't actually be serious. the joke update filled with retextured mobs and copy and pasted code, the buggy mess that is the potato update, thought out and proof of an end update? not to mention the countless times you demolish your own points. this video is a nothing burger in trying to convince me that there will be an end update.

I just wanted to cover them since they've been getting thrown around the community., the only reason I do believe the potato update could be an indicator is because there are features in there that very well could have been tests to see if players would like them.

The reason there is no end update yet is because Mojang wants to get it right. They don’t want another caves and cliff disaster. So if that’s the case I’d rather wait till 1.23 the to get it split over 4 years.

here is gonna be my 'idea' contribution to the end update: overhauling eyes of ender. Similar to Minecraft Dungeons, you will have to go around the world finding dungeons and defeating Endersents, and collecting the eyes of ender that each ones possesses. Each Eye would have a different name. To locate these bosses, you would have to go to a biome associated with an eye, and find a cave with purple blocks surrounding it (similar to Minecraft Dungeons). To help locate these caves you could craft 'seeking eyes' with the same recipe as the old eyes of ender. After defeating all the 12 endersents and collecting all the eyes, you locate the stronghold and jump in. Not only would this give Minecraft 12 new bosses (each one would have its own slight difference from another endersent) but this would also dramatically increase the time to beat the game which is NOT a bad thing. Since most SMPs die when going to the end anyway. I think this would diversify and help aid exploration greatly in Minecraft, forcing you to locate secret dungeons with bosses in them and travel the world going to different biomes. also yes this would effectively kill speedrunning but I don't think it's Mojang's top priority lol, + most runners don't run 1.16.2+ anyway so

I really like the idea of having eyes of ender obtained from different areas and dungeons in each world to make getting to the end a journey of its own but I don't know if they would ever do this considering this is a large change to the already existing system. And If we are being realistic mojang will never add more than 1 new boss in an update if any at all. Still a great idea tho there are mods the follow this formula! I would personally put the materials to create the eyes in different structures around the world.

After defeating all the 12 endersents and collecting all the eyes, you locate the stronghold and jump in. Not only would this give Minecraft 12 new bosses (each one would have its own slight difference from another endersent) but this would also dramatically increase the time to beat the game which is NOT a bad thing. Since most SMPs die when going to the end anyway. I think this would diversify and help aid exploration greatly in Minecraft, forcing you to locate secret dungeons with bosses in them and travel the world going to different biomes. also yes this would effectively kill speedrunning but I don't think it's Mojang's top priority lol, + most runners don't run 1.16.2+ anyway so
I really like the idea of having eyes of ender obtained from different areas and dungeons in each world to make getting to the end a journey of its own but I don't know if they would ever do this considering this is a large change to the already existing system. And If we are being realistic mojang will never add more than 1 new boss in an update if any at all. Still a great idea tho there are mods the follow this formula! I would personally put the materials to create the eyes in different structures around the world.

I honestly didn't notice it at first, its fine I suppose, but I don't like the stutter effect that the words have when they show up, I think that can go.
