    Yes you can turn off the cab block. But if you are plugging it into a amp, turn yhenamo block also. Unless you are going in through the FX loop, which would make the amp block your pre amp.

    It's a quite affordable unit. For $129 Can I thinks it's a steal. Sure not all the sounds in it are great that's for sure, but if you even find 2 sounds you like it's worth it. There are single pedals that do 1 thing that cost well over $500. I assure you even if you did not like the distortion sounds, there will be a filter, amp model or modulation effect or some sort that you would like. I have a entire playlist featuring every section of this unit. Check it out & let me know.

    Again. I get it. Not every sounds is great. But there are over 100 different sounds. That's between all the distortion, amp sims, modulation, filters, & SFX. There will be more that a few that you will like. If it's not for you after that, all good. I just look for the few sounds I like, & I know tone preferences are subjective.

    Katana has it's own speaker in it unless you get the artist version it has a waza . All Katanas the have a 12 inch speaker. Yes they have software, no it isn't a modeling amp it's solid state. If you use pedals anyway you never need it hooked to a laptop. The circuit is AB just like your tube amps . It acts and responds like a tube amp long as the volume knob never goes past 9:30 am. Since the artist was released I have not had a tube amp since my artist is better without dragging 20 pedals around lol

    the boom was covid, end of story. the second hand market then was hit with a lot of gear post covid when people either gave up or ran out of time. I run a high school band /music comp and each year I still get 4 days of bands competing and the musicianship is stellar, what I have learnt is what grows the next wave of musicians is great inspiring music teachers. Teachers that value edm as well as rock as well as classical. Teachers and music departments that give students of any income the ability to touch instruments and try them.I still work as a freelance guitar tech for touring acts and internationals and I know the effect of great music departments from seeing kids from ten years ago now touring and hiring me on their crew, and in turn the local music stores are selling more gear and reinvigorating the next wave. I wish more stores would get into the schools and help out the next wave but I think the best I can hope for is the industry and freelance teachers scope where there is gaps in the education system or departments and try be on offer. Not every kid wants to be a rapper or make EDM on a laptop and I'm seeing incredible talented youth learn a guitar to assist in their songwriting and composition who may go onto working in the elm or RnB sphere, but music teachers are telling these youth, " learn an instrument -learn the fundamentals then you can own your songwriting as your creating it yourself " love the video, just subbed.

    What I am finding is after playing concert opening and traveling for well paying gigs which I don't seem to get anymore. After Covid bar brewpubs and restaurants don't want to pay the bands anymore. Make em out of plastic, until they outlaw fossil fuels completely and do away with plastic too. No need to play a guitar before you buy it, in fact no need to play one at all. AI will make quick work of hand made music, and anyone who can type a prompt into a computer will be a musician. And when they shut down the internet, or worse, take down the electrical grid, then what? I hope all you young players realize what your supporting. @@MUSICIANGeeK I AM them. I can't afford expensive guitars either, so I get inexpensive ones and make them beautiful! My most expensive guitar is a PRS SE, which was a 50th birthday present from my daughter. Not exactly a Cadillac but it's beautiful and I can make it play like a monster. Infact all of my guitars, other than the SE, we're used and acquired from flea markets and yardsales! All of them have had a proper level crown and polish, all of them have killer set ups, all have been rewired with decent pots and switces and some have upgraded parts. I ordered everything through local music stores instead of just going on line. I buy all of my strings for 12 guitars and 2 basses, at local music stores. I've done basic set ups on a few used guitars for the local store just to help out. That's what I expect people to do! I expect them to turn off the damn screens for a minute or two and actually get out and support their local music comunitys while they still can. Ive ordered Graphtech saddles nuts and string trees, Hipshot and Sperzal tuners, Dimarzio and even Guitar Fetish pickups, Dunlop switches, mojotone pots caps and wires and alot more. I paid a little more for each item sure, but that extra went to supporting my local music scene in some small way. If I can do it as a struggling furniture store employee, no doctor or lawyer here, then so can everyone else. Soon enough our extremely local communities will be all we have access to, wouldn't you want a music store in it?

    @@stevenpipes1555 I do much the same myself, but not all. Yes I buy guitars online, I buy strings at my local store, & bring in all repairs/modifications that I can't do at home into the local shop. If you watch any of my old Guitar reviews, you will see that I plug my tech Jay Swatman formerly of Lasalle Music, now Custom Guitar shop. I say I'm bring it into him for new tuners/nut whatever. It is possible to do both you know.

    I'm a mechanic and amateur guitarist... as an amateur guitarist I can appreciate a big box store for sick ass guitars.. its candy land... but I can't afford anything they offer at those retail prices. I'd rather shop online or pawn shops a well.. as a mechanic.. I only need a clerk too... not a "sales associate ". I go to the parts counter... I know what I need.

    Yup. I remember back in the day going to the local music store as a broke teen lookin for an ax to hunt pussy with and buying the fake Fender that couldn't stay in tune in a total vacuum for what seemed cheap at the time.. $249.99 for stringed feces was good money back then. Could never dream of affording one of the real guitars in the 'Don't touch, ya dirty pothead kid' rack

    Most fulltime musicians are the same way in every sense. They can't afford the $4000.00 Les Paul, & they know what they want.

    Pawn shops have always been (and now online) are the working musician's friend. It's where you get the affordable and serviceable gear.. I bought an expensive guitar at a brick and mortar store once.. but I'm that entry level guy at the time that wanted a cool guitar. ZERO regrets mind you but I could never justify it now. I feel bad not supporting brick n mortar but it's almost impossible (and downright financially irresponsible) to do so

    Yep. It's just so much easier. I feel bad about not supporting local stores more myself, but with the online options, how can we not.

    @@MUSICIANGeeK I have an ampero mini, this 200GP bugs me because of its looper. But it is still more complicated then just 1 dedicated looper button that does not reserve the whole screen from the pedals (that I want to change solo/rhythm/bass erc)

  • @MUSICIANGeeK
    @MUSICIANGeeKАй бұрын

    @@ymelfilm The Looper was also a bit of an after thought. I myself never used the looper. I use Boss loopers, & just got this unit for the amp modeling & effects. That was it's primary function. The Drum machine, Looper, & Recording interface options were just extras that were added so that they can market it as as all in one solution. When any company does this, those features are usually not the best.

  • @ymelfilm
    @ymelfilmАй бұрын

    @@MUSICIANGeeK very sad. Because I really need a simple looper, not dancing on more switches when I have to activate it on a live one man band scenario. So: there is no a multieffect that could serve a oane man band setup on stage well. Disappointing. Because I really dont want complications with wires, footprint, extra charger for an additional looper. I have it (extra looper and a double fsw) now with the Ampero Mini, not so happy

    @@ymelfilm Unfortunately, sounds like you will need a specific looper. No Multi effects processor that I can think of will do what is requited by your standards.

  • @MUSICIANGeeK
    @MUSICIANGeeKАй бұрын

    Yes, but there is a few more effects, like the 2 Darkglass distortions/overdrives. Far more footswitches, & I.O. options. It all depends on what you are looking for. This unit is primarily for guitar. There is a bunch of new amps/effects for guitar in this unit, but not a bunch for bass.
