    Is there a way to do this on like a 500 or $600 budget? I have a giant escape and I mainly just want to use it on Towpath with my woman's kayaking group. I'm fine with like a 500 W motor in maybe like a quarter less powerful battery. ideas for parts?

    Toseven dm02 motor is $330. The battery is the variable, but if you don’t need a big one you can get a small capacity battery fairly inexpensive

    Dang! I just built a Mongoose Malus like that. The only original Malus part was the frame and fork, everything else was replaced. I used 27.5X2.5 wheels with street tires. I need to go with a bigger chainring to eliminate ghost pedaling. Heading to your website now to see what you have. Just bought the Lekkie throttle from you, nice.

    Question 🙋.....Which type of ebike motor has the least drag. When you're using human pedal power only? #2 Are there any motors with selectable on/off regen... So for example, there can be regen when you want it. But non for times when you don't want it.

    Killed it again Johnny! Thanks for everything! 🙏 This is my bike again :) if anyone recalls I had the red 2hip playboi as well. I had Johnny swap the kit over cuz of some malfunctions in the BMX frame itself. Opted for this canyon dirt jumper cuz of the built in chain tensioner and front suspension. If anyone is curious about the brake setup. The previous owner of the canyon added a BB7 up front since the bike only comes with a single sram hydraulic in the rear. The BB7 does have sram pads though. :)

    thinking of making a mopped scooter 72v a reliable high speed electric solution for a trip i think !!!!! my idea .. 48v bank from small 15 amp headaway solenoid LFP for ups attached to a 48v solar charger when clouds.. directly to 2x light movable 24v solar panels and then a high voltage boost converter50(v to 90v you adjust the amps until the bms of the ups pack shows zero in zero out and you have some spare energy if need it too... and is going to be lighter than an eco flow !!!!!! dc to dc magic!!!!!! and you never go ac ,,, if need you have spare fuses and another converter for backup they are super light

    Wait, if you're just looking for something close to a 1:1 ratio, does it matter if it's ~56t:51t or if it's ~36t:33t? And wouldn't the relationship between RPM and wheel size matter more? I'm in the process of buying parts for a BBSHD mountain bike (29er). My cassette has the following configuration: 11-13-15-18-21-24-28-33-39-45-51T. I'm going to use a Lekkie 40T HD chainring, which should (hopefully) have enough offset to let me use all my gears. If I use my 2nd speed (39t) with a 40t chainring, I'll be extremely close to a 1:1 ratio. If I encounter a crazy hill while towing something heavy, I can go to my first speed to get closer to a 3:4 ratio, which should give me even better torque, and if I'm on the flat or going downhill, that 11t gear should help me go to a decent speed, as well. Now, with 29" wheels, the distance pushed per rotation of my wheel is very different than if I were to use a 20" wheel. I'm not sure what the most efficient balance is for the BBSHD's RPMs vs its torque, but with an 11-51t cassette and a (hopefully) good chain line, I should be able to find out.

  • @JohnnyNerdOut
    @JohnnyNerdOut6 күн бұрын

    Definitely tire size is part of the equation as well. But 26-29” tires are not nearly as important as gearing. 20 -29” tires would have a noticeable difference though.

  • @wandererstraining
    @wandererstraining6 күн бұрын

    @@JohnnyNerdOut By gearing, you mean making as full usage as gearing as possible, correct? Just wanting to make sure I have the right options on my bike. :) Thanks!

    One and two are valid BUT there's also mark up, you can pay a vastly different amount of money for exactly the same product, a lie of omission tut tut.

  • @JohnnyNerdOut
    @JohnnyNerdOut7 күн бұрын

    Ya but that is true of even the cheap cells. I know people who mark up the cheap cells to that of premium cells. Always buy from a reputable seller to avoid greedy markups. If you aren’t sure of those sellers, check the forums for real world feedback 👍
