Welcome to my Channel. Formally known as Demon Six, unfortunately I sold the car and purchased a Y62 Patrol in October 21. Here we are now building a 2022 TI Y62 Patrol, follow along as I teach you how to work on these things and build it up to the ultimate touring and off-roading rig! Enjoy.

    You cant get the 24 screen in pre 24 models, so almost any upgrade is better than standard pre-24. Is it not?

  • @WLD62
    @WLD629 күн бұрын

    No, you can't. However if you can find a 24 head unit, that upgrade would be ideal for a 23 or under car. After using the 22 head unit, the 24 and the EC Offroad one. The 24 head unit is my pick. Personal preference though.

    @WLD62 yeah fair enough. We just purchased a new 23 ti-l. I'm tossing up whether it's worth going aftermarket screen or just leaving it as is. I'm starting to think a phone holder is the way to go haha.

    @@joelevans6374 Very nice, enjoy the car! Something I always say to people, what do you want the infotainment system to do? The stock one is fine, it works, it has bluetooth and all features work as intended. I'm use to it now and dont really have any gripes, better maps would be ideal, but your phone can do that. A phone holder is a great option and allows you to see your maps or whatever it may be.

    @WLD62 cheers mate! I'm absolutely loving it so far, only had it 4 days. Just got back for a 2 hour drive and I'm already noticing the more I use it, the more normal it becomes. I think being on all the 62 Facebook pages for months leading up to buying one convinced me that I needed to change it before I'd even bought one. I'll definitely be mounting the phone.

    @@joelevans6374 Glad you're enjoying it mate, best all round car I reckon. There is that problem of everyone just jumping on the bandwagon for different products, without having much thought. Something I am trying to highlight on my channel. In some cases these new products are just a waste of money. A lot of these after market screen don't work as advertised or have issues. Best to stay OEM where you can or research an aftermarket system well, beforehand.

    There is not a “massive” difference in the way these things run on 95 or 91. If fact the different it’s only slight with 91 and I can’t tell the difference on 95. Same with economy. On a recent trip with mine towing 3t I averaged the same on 95 and 98 and only slightly more when fill with 91. Great car.

    Depends what you want to do with the car really. If you're towing a standard Patrol is the better option as you can't get a GVM upgrade with the Warrior. I'm looking at patrols but worried about fuel range. For a mixed use on the road but I do a lot of highway driving, what fuel range can I get out of the Patrol Y62?

  • @WLD62
    @WLD622 ай бұрын

    Hey mate. A question with lots of variables. Completely stock and driving it responsibly, you'll easily see the quoted fuel economy. When my car was stockish, I drove from QLD to Vic, over 2000kms. I stopped for fuel 3 times and that wasn't to fill the tank from empty, just to get it back to full. I was seeing 1200kms range and eventually got the economy down to the 10lph area. They are big, not particularity aerodynamic and heavy, with a 5.6l V8. They love long drives. With all my mods, I see 17.7lph around town, which is nearly 700kms to a tank. So, you'll see decent figures.

    Thanks mate. Personally, I think the 2024 Warrior is worth it. However, I would add some rated springs and airbags to it. I am unsure if the Warrior actually comes with a constant rated spring. Look at eventually doing rear lower control arms. Take it to an Engineer and get them to certify it. Warrior tyres are decent, plus the lift is there already and all engineered to begin with. I think you'd spend more money setting up a TiL, over the Warrior. Premcar did a great job setting the Warrior up and the ride was more comfortable, over my 62, if that's something that matters to you.
