I don’t watch that kind of movie. Won’t spend time or money to be uncomfortable or scared. Glad you are over it now.
Hi, Vicki! You’re wearing your Stich Fix tee! I like the color! This video was so helpful! I love the cinnamon disinfecting tip and the industrial labels! Where do you get the green ties to tie the shoot to the support? I bought a spray fertilizer at Home Depot for the Mystic one I am rehabbing. Should I fertilize while my orchid is blooming? I have not fertilized the blooming ones yet, and they are still blooming. My first one sent out a second spike. I have had continuous blooms on that one since December 2023! I was too hot to go to the Redland Show, but I am going to try to go to Silver Vase headquarters and explore! Okay, my bay window orchids send their regards! I hope you can get in the bus and come to Miami one day, or I can go to the Tampa or Orlando shows. It is an interesting world! 💐
that top is so comfy and cool. it looks a little sloppy but it’s summer! is there anything you would add to the list as an inside grower? i got the twist tie in a spool from amazon as well as the industrial tags. i think i left links in the description but but i will check and update if not. i just got a new spool of twist ties and used yesterday. and that cutter thing is serious! i fertilize orchids while blooming but i try to get nothing on blooms ever - not water, fertilizer, fungicide, etc. i fertilize very weakly because i grow semi outside (screen porch). i use a 20-20-20 and occasionally kelp but it stinks. also have slow release pellets which is why i fertilize weakly.
@@VickieCarla Hi. The top looks nice. I was asking about the ties that are precut. They’re green and already come with the orchids. They are like clips. What was the name of the supplier in Homestead? OBE? How far do you cut the shoot back after blooming? How do you know when it’s time to repot a moth orchid? Do you go up to the next size pot? Should an orchid stay with its original medium such as sphagnum moss or bark? How often to fertilize? Just on the roots? Thanks again! 💐
P.S. I saw your fertilizer answer! My moth orchids are indoors in a bay window.
@@VickieCarla P.P. S.S. Where do you get the transparent elastics that help the orchid curve as it is attached to the stick with the green clamps? 😉
@@carolm4545 could OBE be OFE? They are a very popular place to buy orchid supplies. Funny story about cutting bloom spikes - I accidentally broke one before it bloomed. It was still pretty long and I just left it instead of cutting it off. Wouldn't you know, it made two bloom spikes off the one! Usually I cut down to between 3 and 6 inches. Look for those triangle things (nodes?) and cut a bit above one of those because, if i's going to rebloom on that spike, it will come from one of those. I was having trouble keeping one phal in the pot and I used it hardened spikes to keep it in - bent them down to grab under the top edge of the pot!
The hair shaver things are also sold as seam rippers. There's an alternate use for them so all is not lost, lol!
lol!!!
You ARE so excited 😆 When you fixed the bow, it really looks cute
I was! i love that hose. and the bonnet is good for getting your hair off your neck.
It's not everyday you watch a hose unboxing. Gotta give you points for originality. Let us know how it works and if you like it. We will need a demo. lol
i filmed a demo!!! lol, but i decided that was just too much even for me.
I love your sexy curves ❤😍
Yum 😋
So good and so moist. Def not your hard crusted type of ribs.

I’ll have to look for the Bluebell fudge bars. They look delicious…if they don’t have high fructose corn syrup, I don’t buy anything with that.
found this online: Skim milk, sugar, corn syrup, coconut oil, high fructose corn syrup, whey, cocoa (processed with alkali), cellulose gum, vegetable gums (guar, carrageenan, carob bean), soy mono- and diglycerides, polysorbate 80.
@@VickieCarla 😞 I’ll have to skip it. Thanks for checking. Yesterday I looked up the ingredients for those DELICIOUS caramel Frappes at McDonald’s…no more for me 😞 high fructose corn syrup 😭 lol 😆 better for my waistline.
@@peggyford3801 more and more i make stuff at home
Another fun good haul!
Thank you 😁
I bought that dress on Freestyle and sized up because Gilli seems to run small for me. It was still a bit unflattering but worse was the fabric; so scratchy! I put it on and took it off immediately. It’s a bummer because, as you said, it would look great with a navy blazer or even a cardigan for work.
so, I wasn't just being super picky regarding the scratchy fabric? i don't like being to critical because what I don't like, someone else may love. i always try to remember it's just preference but sometimes the issue is universal.
No, I was glad to hear you say it because I have some sensory issues so fabric comfort is key. Glad to know it wasn’t just me!
Nice box with different types of items! Enjoy! Love and Kindness, Teresa
Thank you, I will
Hi Vickie, I personally liked everything. Good box! I hope the shorts exchange works for you. Love and Kindness, Teresa
I hope so too! They really are ultra comfortable.
I’m glad you are exchanging the linen shorts. Linen shorts are the best in summer. You can’t beat tbd organic cotton for $39👍🏻
So true! I'm wearing the top today. totally comfortable and breathing.
Hi, Vicki! Did you order the shorts in a smaller size? I liked the Mason and Belle top. Too bad about the dress. It was the nicest item in the box. You didn’t have much to choose from!! Big surprise!! At least you’re having fun! Tomorrow I’ll see your orchid video!
@@carolm4545 Yes! I think they have shipped. Cross your fingers they work. Would love to take them on my upcoming cruise.
@@VickieCarla where will be cruising to? Which line?
@@carolm4545 We are going on the new Margaritaville Island that just came to Tampa last week. We are doing the 5 day to Key West and Mexico.
I like the shorts too. If I get a blouse with the elastic above the elbow, I cut off the elastic and hem like regular sleeves.
smart lady!
It doesn’t look like you got any on your eyelid. I was wondering if your husband is still happy with his cataract surgery. I am very pleased with mine! I wore glasses since I was 7 years old…now I’m free from glasses 👏👏👏 Occasionally I still reach for my glasses or reach up to take them off 😆 and sometimes when I start to doze off in front of the tv, I think I can’t fall asleep with my contacts in…then I realize that I’m not wearing contacts! 😆 I hope your husband is as happy as I am.
On the playback I realized that too! Funny you should mention hubby's cataract surgery. He had a follow up today and brought up that one eye, the one that used to be the "good" one, has had a fuzzy to it. He was aware that this happens in 20% of cases. Anyway they did a procedure on him right then (we weren't expecting that so he drove himself) and tonight he is saying that his right eye is the stronger again. He's been using glasses for reading. Follow up in 3 weeks so thinking that is when he should be healed.
@@VickieCarla Oh wow, I hope that won’t happen to me. I do have an extra eye drop for ocular hypertension but it doesn’t affect my vision. I don’t need readers and I don’t have that bad astigmatism anymore 👏👏👏 Good luck to your husband.
@@peggyford3801 his right eye was never quite right after the surgery but he had to give it more time. I don't think you have to worry because my understanding is you would of had the issue right after the procedure. I'm no doctor but that's how hubby explained it.
I liked your choice. It is cute 👍
I may wear it tomorrow - yardwork day!
Is this a new dog? What a cutie! I got my fix yesterday, and I don’t think I’m impressed with it, unfortunately.
that was Minnie. We've had her for a couple years I think. At first she was kinda shared with her former owners who were having trouble caring for her. Now she is ours.
You have lovely hands & nails
On You Tube, where colours can be off, I would say the foundation does have a yellow tint rather than a pink/or neutral. I am fair like you and it is not the easiest thing to get the right foundation hue. I use a bit darker one in the summer if I have had a bit of sun and a lighter one in winter. I never used to use primer, but now that I am an oldie, I need it. In a pinch I have found skin cream works pretty well as a primer.
I think I am responsible for that color of foundation. Like you, I was trying the next darkest shade since it's summer and I have the "freckle tan". I love a tinted primer or tinted moisturizer instead of using foundation.
No, when you held up the box everything came in, wasn’t it damaged? It looked like it on the video.
I damaged the box trying to get it open. Funny thing - this video is so late my new box arrived today!
Nice cosmetics all in all.
Yes they are! I think they do a great job.
Vickie, I didn't realize you have that many orchids. You did a nice job coordinating the bead colors. They look great!
thank you! yes, i have around 100. i had less but during this spring’s reporting i ended up propagating quite a few so now i have two pots of the some orchids. today i actually discarded some loss causes i had been trying to nurse along after suffering severe damage from scale. of course i got on the internet and ordered their replacements! i tend to them almost everyday. orchid caretaking is a learning process.
😊👋 The beads look nice. Will reflect a little colour when things aren't blooming.
great minds think alike! i actually did two of them to match the color of the flower when/if it blooms. tonight i went ahead and tried out the wooden beads. not as crazy about it although it is a nice compliment to a terra cotta pot. there’s also clear plastic beads so maybe when the sun hits. they probably won’t hold up but a year or two but that’s ok.
@@VickieCarla Yes that's OK, enjoy them for as along as they last. I think they are pretty.
I wasn’t interested in it but will definitely wait until it’s streaming! Thanks for the review.
you’ll have to come back and tell us what you think if you do watch. perhaps our expectation is high with the theatre experience.
Sad. Hoping for a good comedy. I was really surprised by your review as I know you are not negative. Would you have liked it more if there were no expectations of the actors?
i don’t think so because i went in not knowing what actors were going to be in it. i liked the very beginning of the movie when they were young girls but when it flipped to adults revisiting camp, it lost me. i think the Kathy Bates character’s storyline was too over the top as was Diane Keaton’s acting. Probably just too many mishaps almost like slapstick.
I thought it was just me thinking it was lackluster. I went with a couple of friends. The best part was our lunch before the movie. I was trying to stay awake through most of it. I agree with your take on Eugene Levy's character. Playing a serious character seemed...well, out of character for him. The ladies who I went with seemed to like it somewhat, or maybe just didn't want to say they didn't like it.
maybe because your friends were just having a good time made it seem better. i really am not a negative nancy with films - i can usually find something redeeming but this one is hard. the opening when they young and at camp, that has my attention. that could have been a good movie . your description of lackluster is perfect!
One of the ladies I went with related to Alfre Woodard's character, and I think it hit home a little with her. 😳
I agree. I was very disappointed in the movie knowing who was in the cast.
Exactly!
and i’ve really been getting into Diane Keaton lately but this one she was so predictable and over acting
Thanks for the tip
my pleasure!
Very nice video Vickie. A little of everything. It was great seeing you at the orchid society meeting, and yippee, you won an orchid. Yes it is always cold. I take a hoodie with me. Hope to see you at the next one.
thanks Blanca. i plan on being there so in better look up the schedule. i just “repotted” that orchid today. i say that because it really just sits in a pot - no medium, etc. Oh!! And that orchid i won has TWO bloom spikes!
No bag babies at the meeting. Congrats for winning a new orchid. Ouch on the heat and humidity, I guess summer has really arrived in Florida. Who knew you can get your exercise in playing Pokemon. Really nice preserve. I live in Santa Monica and saw a coyote prancing down the street last week and apparently a lot of recent sightings lately. But no gators. We did have one living in a lake in the valley named Reggie but they removed him --he was 12 feet and a pet gator who became too big and was dumped there. Hopefully, no gator had you for dinner 😮
no, still alive and kicking! it’s creep along a water way when you are with a big group of people but then lag far behind and can’t see them anymore. i could hear them so they should of heard me scream if i needed too.
I really liked the animal print on you. It's classy with the belt.
it also turned out to be comfortable except for messing with the belt. it reminds me of a swimsuit that people wear with heels and a sheer kimono like in a model shoot.
3 hours. Now that's a long time to be there. I liked seeing the orchids. If I don't see another video pop up in the future, I will assume you were eaten by an alligator. 🐊
mark me safe from alligator attack. i did have a plan B going through my mind all along that path just in case.

LOVED your tour of the greernhouses. Some very nice and healthy specimens there. Must require CONSTANT care. Bet it smells so good in there. Thanks for sharing. Hope your orchid doctor got your plant on the mend.
it smelled heavenly! Some folks go for flowers, some for scent, but I like an interesting or big healthy plant. So, it's a treat to "have it all" in one place.
Nooo, I didn’t know vanilla is from an orchid plant ! 🙂
yup. the seeds are in an alcohol base to make what we know as vanilla extract. i may have bit off more than i chew. it’s a big plant.
P.S. I didn’t attend the orchid show. It was 97. I assume you have been in record heat, too. We have had little to no rain which is very unusual. Very interesting world, and Go, Maddie! ❤
yes we’ve been right around 90 many days and there is no rain. i don’t remember moving to arizona
@@VickieCarla 😂 Arizona with Hurricanes! But we know those won’t be approaching our hallowed shores. 😇🏝️
Hi, Vicki! That speckled orchid was fantastic! This was a cool adventure. You’ll have to do a video on the vanilla orchid. Do you use the seeds? Take care.
it’s my first one so i have no experience. but it’s kinda big. i hope i didn’t make a mistake bringing one home.
This was fun. 😊👋
i loved it! Although next time I will not go mid day!
Hi, Vicki! I cut the dead roots and dead spikes off the Blue Mystic Orchid. I put in Sphagnum Moss and put the bark on some ground keepers. I wet the Sphagnum Moss and watered the orchid roots very well and sprayed a tiny amount of fertilizer on the roots and watered again. I left this orchid outside and will bring it in later. The leaves are limp but green. There were many crispy brown root, but there were still some green, moist ones. I may water again tomorrow. I always check for standing water. I know the plant will be in shock, but I think this is the best treatment. The container has a drain hole. This is my first orchid rehab and change of medium. The bark dried out the plant. My original one “Prissy” is doing well. Nothing but water Until it stops blooming again. It is pressing against the container, and the green roots are growing upwards. I wiped the scissors with alcohol before cutting. Okay, Thanks for listening! I will reach out again when the others stop blooming and need repotting! 😂❤
Many people don't like spagnum at all. I use it a little. Orchids, especially Phals, often come in it. Orchids generally love water but don't like to be wet. Fussy little plants! lol
@@VickieCarla Interesting! That’s what my original one came with which is doing well. I just check the dryness level and overall condition of the plant. The journey continues! 🌸🌺🍀🦋
Hi Vicky, you look beautiful
Hi, Vicki. I have been sending back my SF boxes, too. I do not like off-white. either. I hope your next box is better. P.S. Where is the best place to buy orchid supplies? I went to Home Depot and found nothing. I need two 7 inch ceramic and plastic orchid holders with the drainage hole. I currently have 6 inch pots. I need a new ceramic for my teacup orchid which I just got as a gift. I am going to use sphangum moss as the medium. Is Walmart my best bet? Thanks.
depends on where you are and if you are willing to do through online order. OFE in Homestead florida is kinda famous for supplies. amazon has a lot and i have ordered from repotme.com but expensive. locally for me either an orchid seller or Lowe’s if big box. i’ve boycotted Walmart, with a couple desperate exceptions, for prob 30 years so not sure what they have.
@@VickieCarla I am not form of Walmart, either. I will research your suggestions. Thanks! We finally got some rain. We had record breaking heat into the mid-90’s. What about your area?
@@VickieCarla P.S .Do you have to stay with same medium that the orchid originally came with, or can you switch bark to sphangum moss? I hope I am not being too pesky with all the plant questions! Thanks a Million! 🌸🍀🌺💎

Hi, Vicki! I hope you had a good time! “Prissy” is giving me 9 more blooms! My husband bought me a Mystic Orchid from Walmart. It has died blue flowers and hasn’t finished blooming yet. I guess the flowers are originally white. I’ll know next year, I suppose. How is your weather? It has been beastly hot here! 🥵
it’s so hot here that i found myself misting orchids this afternoon after drenching them this morning. i also have the ceiling fan going on them. i went to an orchid meeting and listening to a speaker who said that the difference in moving air and not moving air is about 50% bigger plants and more blooms as a result. i am wondering if you use a coloring in the water, if when they bloom again they will pick up the color again??? i am not sure how they dye orchids
@@VickieCarla Hi. That makes sense about the moving air! Mine are in AC. A kids have me a purple striped Espresso orchid for Teacher Appreciation Week! I think they use a vegetable dye. This Homestead dealer is a major orchid distributor. I wonder what color the flowers will be after the blooming cycle? They said either white or purple.
@@carolm4545 all my blooming phals are white. i think that's a very common color.
