This story''s been on the channel for a while now and I'm so happy to see that listeners are sharing the link with friends because the views grow almost daily. You're all precious for sitting around with me, letting me tell you about Grandma's attic ... I hope my stories stir up your own memories and that your life is blessed. Take care of yourself.
❤ thank you
Love this, thank you 👍
Thank YOU! And thanks for the note!! God bless!
No coincidence that people were rarely over weight back in the day. Fast food gained popularity since 1955- and processed fast food super size servings began in the mid 1990’s. Sad.
That picture just jumped out at me. Makes you stop and think, doesn't it? Thanks for coming by! Thanks, too, for leaving a comment. Really appreciate you!! God bless.
❤❤❤😊
Thank you, Stephanie! God bless!
Awesome! I would like to see chapter numbers or something similar in the title to know where I’m at in the stories. Thank you. Enjoyed this very much.
Hi Harley ... gosh, I don't have chapter numbers because I'm sitting at a mic, at my desk, just chatting away ... it's not scripted. Just remembering ... I sure thank you for taking a listen! Hope you come back often. God bless!!
I too love the old radio shows like the shadow
I had so much fun finding old radio shows for you (and me) to enjoy, that I started a new series - Classic Radio 'theater. I look for ones that have good sound and stories that hold up for today. In a few minutes I'm going to be putting A Thing of Beauty on the new site ... it stars Angela Lansbury and I'll be talking about things people might not know about the wonderful actress. A lot of people only associate her name with that of Jessica (JB) Fletcher on Murder, She Wrote. Hope to see you on Classic Radio Theater! And to seeing you back here as well. God bless!!!
This is a wonderful channel, don't stop please. Your memories are sweet and special.
Gosh, Tammie, thank you so much. I do wonder if I'm not silly to think anyone really cares about memories ... but I love to share the stories. God bless you!!!
What wonderful stories. Thank you for sharing.
Bless your heart! Thank YOU for listening, and for leaving a comment. Hope you come back and consider yourself family now! Have a great day! You surely brightened mine.
Oh my, what a dredful story. I did enjoy listening. And as always I think of myself listening to our antique radio. TFS
It is a dreadful story, but performed so well I couldn't resist sharing it. The irony is that the wonderful actor, Joseph Cotton, had a beautiful voice, yet he died of cancer of the throat. His voice box had to be removed and I found that especially tragic. All the time I lived and worked in the film industry, I never heard an unkind word about him. People who worked with him spoke of him as a kind person who lived out of the limelight. Thanks for the note, Donna! Take care!
We lost our precious friend, Jack, a few days ago. I can't hear his voice and believe it's silenced. God hold him dearly in His arms, I pray.
Oh, I do so love your channel. Hearing the stories of your meetings all the people I remember. Wasn't that clever of Bo Derek? After seeing her in movies I would have thought her to be a primadonna...nope just a wise and clever girl. Thanks for sharing that tidbit. I enjoyed the radio mystery story. As your dear friend Jack Diamond said...it took me on " the wings of imagination". Sorry for your loss of Jack. Take care, Esther. TFS
Hi Donna! Thanks for taking a listen. I appreciate that more than I can tall you. I wondered if it would sound like I'm trying to impress people, dropping names and all ... but I really do want to let people know the good things I learned about them. I was Production Coordinator on CHiPs and am eager to tell Erik Estrada stories that will surprise you - and warm your heart. Your note gave me encouragement, dear Donna. I started a new series that will be on the channel on Wednesdays, it's called Classic Radio Theater ... Academy Award winning movies broadcast on the radio with the stars of the films. The first one you'll hear is Shadow of a Doubt starring Joseph Cotton. Sure hope people like it. Let me know your thoughts? God bless!!
@@EstherLuttrellsSundayStories - I don't think you are name-dropping. These are your life stories and they are so interesting and enlighten us about the true and real personalities of those we all watched and enjoyed on TV and in movies. Oh my, would love to hear stories about Erik Estrada. Wasn't he a looker...be still my heart. Have a blessed evening.
@@EstherLuttrellsSundayStories - I do so like listening to the radio stories...they bring back so many memories. We listened to an old antique radio ( the one with the curved top...it was beautiful ) when I was young. It was down in the basement and I listened to it while washing clothes in a ringer washer... those were the days. I can still smell the detergent water...haha. In the winter we hung the laundry on clotheslines my dad put up. So see, You are bringing joy to my heart when you do the radio stories. I will be looking forward to Wednesdays.
The old-time radio show ends at 49:21, if you want to skip on over to comments on Bing Crosby, his daughter Mary, Bo Derek and our farewell to Sunday Stories announcer and dear friend, Jack Diamond. He believed so much in what this channel is attempting to do - bring you good memories and pleasant entertainment. Thanks for listening! God bless!
I hope the ending, following the Richard Diamond Detective story, isn't too preachy, but I felt I had to add it. I wish every child today could know what it was like to be a part of our country in the times I'm talking about, and to share those times with parents who devote their life to simply being together on a great adventure. Thanks for listening! God bless.
This is so cool dear Esther!
Thank you, Barry! Not in the same league as having a one-on-one with JD Powers, but it is fun. I'll never understand why one program gets a thousand + views and the next one gets a hundred, but then the next one after that gets a thousand views ... It could make one a wee nuts, if we let it. Really appreciate your note, dear Barry. Stay well.
I really did get caught up in your radio show...no wonder THE SHADOW was so popular, the acting from the radio show still holds up!
Aren't they amazingly wonderful, though! Thanks for the comment, Jack!!
I became elated while listening to your exchange of stories. I don’t talk to many people who have dreams the way I always have. I certainly haven’t heard of anyone else yet that I’m close to that has experienced even one recurring dream, much less many times over from a young person on. I have places as well and people.. what I mean by that is, I actually have very familiar houses/geographical areas and actual people that I’ve never met in real life but that I’ll know in the recurring dream. At times, only a segment of a recurring dream will come into a new dream.. that’s always very strange to me when it happens, in my dream I’m confused questioning why is that house or person in here? Each of the places have a “feeling” some are more dreadful, others more calm. It’s getting less as I age, but I really believe its less my age and more that I’ve had to take strong medication in the last 10 years and perhaps that has affected my brain, unfortunately, though I’m glad to not have a few of the recurring dreams any longer as those were a bit terrifying. My dreams also used to be intensely detailed and now they’re fuzzy. I’m bummed about that, but I’ve also gone through some massive stress in the last four years and it has caused such anxiety that perhaps it’s blocking my ability to relax and let go even while I sleep. I wonder if what I wrote above makes sense to anyone else. It would be nice to hear from others who have familiar places.. places that are exactly the same, very detailed with smell and feeling and the layout of house and land etc and people that are exactly the same that they re-visit and why they think this happens. Oh, I should mention, some of the people have a blurred out face but I can see the hair/clothes etc. Also, when very young, i had recurring dreams about future .. like what will happen in our world, but it sounds so weird and I’d rather share this with someone who won’t think I’m completely crazy, haha.
I have a question for you. This morning a friend was talking to me about these Grandma stories and he said that what you all are responding to are the old-time radio shows. I said that I felt you're remembering your own grandmas and granddads, your own mom and dad ... a more simple, sweeter, time, and that the old-time radio programs are just a part of that time, not the point of it. So... I got to thinking just now ... is it the old shows you like, or is it the memories of your own that these stories trigger? I'd love to hear your comments. God bless!
I think both. I was caught at the end of the best times. But I remember those old radio shows. Partly because I was born in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. I remember after the nightly chores were done. All of us sitting where ever we could find a place close to the radio. Then the shows would come on. Yes it was wonderful
@@Whatifiamarobot My friend is convinced that's what people want to hear ... the old radio shows. I'm havingg so much fun doing these ... I hope you enjoy more of them! Thank you SOOOO much for your comment and for listening. God bless!
Interesting stories. The music was perfect for your stories. Thanks for sharing.
So much work goes into producing 12 minutes and your note makes it all worth while, Donna. God bless!
That was wonderful ❣ Thank You!
Your comment is wonderful, Molly. Bless your heart for taking time to let me know. Thank you!
hello, tq for this...looking forward to more
Thanks, Luna! I'm getting ready to record another Grandma's Attic and the things I found from 1955 ... Arthur Godfrey and the Whistler will be along for the journey ... and I sure hope you'll come along too! God bless!
I finally finished the 1955 Grandma's Attic. Hope I meet you there again! Have a good day, Luna. While you're at it, have a good week, year, life! God bless.
Thank you for tripping down memory lane with me ... my hope is that it triggers great memories for you! Won't you leave a comment and let me say hi? God bless!
Great Storytelling ❣💜
Thank, Molly! I really appreciate you! God bless!
Can't imagine how that soldier by a couple seconds missed the death that could of been hi m!! What a shock & trauma that must've been. Wow. ❤
The soldier was my dad, a Seabee. Out of all his war years, that's the only story I ever heard him share. I don't think the memory ever left him, never failed to move him deeply. Thanks for the comment, Molly. God bless!
Thank you so much, for another great story, Ms Esther. I found your channel about a week ago, and subscribed after hearing the first story. You have such a wonderful talent for storytelling, and such a soothing voice. I have been subscribed to Jared's channel, for a little more than, a year. He's another great storyteller. QA You may also want to consider looking into the following channels. I highly recommend, Jeannie B ASMR, Gentle Whispering, Celebrating Appalachia, and Donnie Laws. Please keep doing what you do. God Bless and keep you always.🥰❤️☮️✨
Another Jared fan! Thank you so much for your message and the encouragement. I aspire to be even half the storyteller as Jared! A note from someone like you means more than I can tell you. I'll definitely look for Gentle Whispering and the others, too. Today I discovered Lauren Shippen and her delightful The Bright Session. You might enjoy that, too, Jan. Friday there'll be another Grandma"s Attic, this one will be about the year 1942 with another old-time radio show at the end. Next Tuesday, I tell about the hauntings aboard the Queen Mary. The story comes from Fate Magazine, but I'll add a tag about my niece who worked on the ship and confirmed that it was, indeed, haunted. Thanks again for the note! I'd love to hear from you anytime. God bless!:
Love this production, Esther... I shared it on my social media accounts so others could enjoy it too.
I just now saw your note, Nikki! Bless your heart, THANK you for enjoying it and thank you for sharing! Grandma's Attic: 1942, complete with another old-time radio show, will be up on Friday. i think the old mystery will be from The Shadow. So much fun. Thanks again!!
Love rummaging in grandmas attic it was always a adventure
Just wait to hear what all we find up there! Sure hope to see you then!
Love your storytelling so glad I listened to brother Jared

Thank you!
Absolutely can not WAIT to hear the ending to this amazing Saga! What a blessing to be an inspiration and be mentioned by such a wonderful and talented Storyteller such ass yourself. God bless you and keep up the amazing work.
You're the best, Jared! My hero.
I'm subscribed Esther ❤ wonderful story. I love your voice, it reminds me of my wee mammy ( we are Scottish, I mean the gentleness, not the accent) Love mags from bonnie Scotland ❤
Scotland? What a wonderful, beautiful place. One of my writer friends is from Scotland and, I swear, you folks have the best imaginations ever. Thank you for very nice compliment about reminding you of your wee mammy! God bless!
@@EstherLuttrellsSundayStories my mammy was an amazing storyteller ❣️ So, now I'm the only one in the family that knows all of our history 😜 my cousin asked my Nana's maiden name - I think he was shocked when I provided that, as well as date of birth, illegitimate child ( quite scandalous!) and entire life story 😜 I think he is still a bit overwhelmed that we are from the Highlands, from Skye specifically - he thought we were Irish ❣️
Thank you. I enjoyed your story. Everybody have a wonderful, blessed day! 🤗
Thanks for stopping by! If you ever have idea for stories, let me know? Hope to see you here again one day soon.
Your note sure blessed my own day! Thank you! God bless!!
❤
Nothing finer than a lovely heart! Thank you!!! Please stop by again soon!!! God bless.
I love it! (thanks, Jared) 😍
So glad you dropped by! I see you're a Jared person, too. Doesn't he attract the nicest folks! God bless!
I love this! I would like to start a support system like this for adoptive parents, not just for them, but for anyone considering adoption so they know what they are getting into.
What a great idea, Pegi. If anyone could host a program like you're proposing, it's you. Go for it!
Awesome sister! I'm pinning your KZread channel link in my Livestream tonight to get you some more subscribers! 🙏🕊️ God bless and have a good'n 😁

What a beautiful sign sent from above! Love this!
It took me 6 months to see your thoughtful and sweet note! Sorry, Patty!!! I'll pass the word on to Joseph! God bless!
Sounds like a precognative dream the one about the elevator. I'll have to watch the rest later. Dreams can be so helpful in so many ways if we pay attention! Ty for sharing. 💐
Patty! Hello! How come I just now saw this? Forgive me for not responding. Really thank you for dropping by. Hey, if you get a chance, I hope you take a listen to UFO Encounters. I'd love your thoughts on it. Thanks again for letting me be a guest on your program! You're the best! God bless!
Great
Thanks, Miriam!
This was so good!!! Thank God she was found! Her little friend I'm sure was so much more! Ty one of my new favorite channels!!!❤
Did I never respond to your sweet, most welcome, note? Forgive me, if I didn't. I sure do appreciate your comment. I wish Haley and her mom would have let me talk more about the little mystery girl ... it was a condition of the recording that I wouldn't make that a central part of the story, but we're all curious, for sure!
Hi!! So happy to listen to this! Settling in to enjoy!
I"m going to have a special chair just made for you, Patty! You're a jewel.
Very interesting. ❤
Thank you, Pegi! I just now saw this comment! God bless!!

Thanks for the thumbs up, Roger! Maybe only the two of us remember Rod McKuen. Think so? 🥲
What a compelling style you have! I love the way you tell a story.
KZread just informed me that I never responded to your most appreciated comment. Actually, I did, but I'm so Internet illiterate I may not have hit the right button to make certain you received it. I remember what I said, though. I said I was touched and honored for a man of your talent to leave such a thoughtful note. I really am. Thank you!
All sounds good to me. Nice to hear one of my stories.
Your stories are always tops, hon. Good to hear from you. Love.
Captivating story!
Thank you, Kathryn!
Bless your heart. There's really a story to be told about all you've gone through recently, Kathy. Maybe you should start your own youtube channel. Take care and thanks for the sweet comment!
Would anyone like to hear more true stories about female spies of WW2? I'd love to do an entire series, but only if you'd enjoy hearing them.
Jack Diamond is a great announcer.
Thanks, Laura, for the note. I'll pass it along to him. He's facing three major operations and your words will mean the world to him.
