Imo the fact of the matter is Steven making future appearances in other projects like these was always gonna lead to a new VA(young Steven anyways). It’s been a good while since Future so i’m pretty sure the original VA is kinda too old to really do the original voice anymore at this point. Is what it is. For what it’s worth I think this new voice actor did a good job. He was never gonna sound like exactly like the original but I can appreciate a different take on the character, he still has a similar energy.
Why did they not get the original voice actor???

Better than the last rift but they made this to hard at times don't get me started on the volleyball mini game. Ugh I beat this rift on easy and crushing. Insanity is going drive me nuts

They really should have made this filler boss actually look more like a watermelon if that's what they wanted to go for. With the pale colors it looks more like a giant piece of candy rather than a watermelon. Of course it would have also been nice to just make a completely new character instead of just reskinning Steven.
