This channel is about spreading the love of JUDO, but has a little bit of BJJ and other martial arts content.I am extremely Pro judo. (I love the art of Judo)
I decided to start teaching judo after 4 months intensive judo training in Japan at 18 years old, after my NZ Sensei invited me to take over the contest class, and he started a gokyo class for our non competitors.
I started judo over 55 years ago ...Since then much travel, training and competing, includes 2 Olympics: LA84 and BA92.
I am now a Judo 7th dan
The channel is about helping judoka to lift their knowledge and study the Art of Judo.
I hope it helps you whether you are interested in judo or just supplementing your knowledge from other arts.

Good fun, Come visit me
Ok, thank you
Music is perfect for it!!!
thanks, I try but there's also always a lot of haters out there
.... i mean, it's kesa getame
Incredible judo.
I trained in judo in my teens and my coach was friendly with a guy called George Glass. He was 6th dan and would come down once a month to coach a session. Didn’t realise at the time how good he was. He was amazing
Yes he was a great judoka
What is the point of this style of drill? Is it to remove injury? Or does it add more resistance (more strength)?
Teaches hip drive and commitment
Dont worry about breaking the glasses?
They are flexible and can be stood on
Judo is Fuckin amazing 🔥🔥💪🏽
I hurt my shoulder doing Judo ... Never again
More injuries in most other sports. Our overall injury % to training hours is very favourable. Usually injuries mean uncontrolled from throw lack of care of opponent or too much resistance from defender. Did you make this injury or opponent or a combination of both ?
A guy in my old soccer team died 15 years ago doing chin-ups on the goal top rail, it fell on him.
First kuzushi... then step 😢
Simultaneously or imperceptibly so, yes. As balance is broken entry to throw becomes relatively easy. If balance isn’t broken opponent resists entry blocking it
Simply perfect
Thanks for teaching bro
No one is going to stop me on a hip throw!
Thanks for showing the circle outta da way one! 😋
Well that big windup is a dead giveaway, any decent judoka would push your head down when you kick that leg up and lean down
Did you see the windup in the tournament examples of use. Don’t actually do that when fighting, it is a development of thrust trick for opening fast twitch neural pathway gross movement. Creates explosive motion. Close to tournament don’t use it, it’s the out of season training uchikomi.
Morote Seoinage seriam as duas mãos na gola, esse do vídeo é o Seoinage!!!!
2 hands on collar = eri seoinage
That last one hurt and we all know it did
Nope, in denial for sure. Not really any more than a hard dojo throw
hikikomi gaeshi, actually
If you grab belt, and roll, that in Japanese words is obi-tori (belt take) gaeshi (roll) The hiki Komi Gaeshi is draw pull roll. I think it’s named appropriately because of the actions. If this has changed it’s only recently in the last 5 years or so.
I've probably watchd this video over 50 times XD beautiful display of randori
Yes the quality of judoka from Tokyo was great
Probably the most classic judo throw ever
No
😜
holy crap! Best breakfall demonstration I've seen. Great work & thank you for doing this
Noice
The one at 45 seconds... what is it called?
No name just yoko gaeshi (side roll)
I keep rolling over the top of my spine in my neck, I'll practice more
Practice makes perfect 🤩
Yoko shiho gatame
AKA The Beached Whale.
Respect... On concrete.😮
Please do more vids like this!
I don’t go to those judo camps very often
wearing glasses on the mat - not safe.
Nah it’s not safe to not wear them, I will walk into walls and trip over kids… I have worn glasses while I coach for 30 or 40 years and never once an injury as they are flexible and plastic lenses. I take off for randori or head grab actions. It’s VERY SAFE, but generally I would agree, unfortunately I can’t see that well without. Contact lenses not an option for me. Tried and optometrist said avoid.
that's usually what happens when japan visits USA
Or most countries tbh, a touring group from Tokyo of top echelon judoka for fun at years end
the cameraman has some real asthma
auto store gary seems really cool not gonna lie
I never worked in an auto store. Judo coach for 30 years
i like the song, thanks ! Good warm-up!
Hello sir
Rishod Sobirov
Absolutely excellent. Luckily I had learned all of these but it's a great reminder.
Sukui Nage; also known as the German Suplex.
The graceful movement. Wow.
Total beast!
My Judo breakfalls I learned 20 years ago which I never forgot (like swimming) saved me three times last winter on the frozen sidewalks. I would have smashed my head or broken something at least.
a great life skill, essential to avoid injury
If they told me this before...
What is the perfect age to start practicing judo
The day you decide to give it a go. Bring with you your best Timing and intensity, willingness to learn! It usually shocks people it’s so challenging in fitness
Thanks
Great demo thabk you
Small weight advantage but still amazing throw from a white belt
Finally someone who actually breaks before the fall!! I can't believe how many people are doing and showing it wrong.
Are they hitting too late with their limbs? I dunno quite what some others are doing wrong?
Use his power against him
Also he uses Great timing from experience of fighting tournaments vs little black belts, you know the other person wins if they get under you. There are no rules about limiting power except weak drug testing
Te Guruma
The jumping sizzling shrimp
02:23 with this lock I would have tapped in 2 seconds. And then there's master Spinks who mocks his opponent like saying "that's all you got?", then takes his leg and fights to the draw. Absolute legend!😂
