When her face was covered with a towel, they poured water over her face so that she chokes and struggles to breath, kind of like drowning; its also known as water boarding and is a common torture technique. The yellow thing was a sponge soaked in water and it was connected to a battery pack which conducted electricity and when it came into contact with jj it gave her an electric shock, similar to being tasered but at a high, stronger power so more painful

What I liked best about this ep is that she wasn't keeping secrets from Will. I love their relationship on this show. Also Prentiss saving her friend. Great episode :)

TheClassictvfan I just saw this episode on ION television. I'm afraid she never told Will about the miscarriage. She said to Hastings the traitor that Matt Cruz was the only person she ever told about her pregnancy. She told Spence in secrecy a year later. When JJ was pregnant with Henry, Will wanted her to leave New York prior to learning about the car bombs that Hotch experienced. As for Emily, I wasn't surprised that she came back to help JJ. In Season 6 when Emily left the team in secrecy to fight Ian Doyle alone JJ came back to help the BAU find Emily. Emily was simply returning the favor. Both JJ and Emily weren't always on the team but they were always family.
