Rolling Treads

Hey what's up KZread, my name is Rick and I am happy to bring you on this journey. I will be showing you everything you need to know about tire service so you can get a better understanding of what's involved or so you can do it your self. From changing tires with tire bars or with a machine, TPMS service and replacement, and also how to use the tools shown.

    you went and purchased a quality machine, then purchased a fake aftermarket plastic duckhead. you should buy an actual coats plastic duckhead. they make 2 diff ones. one is black similar but better quality than the aftermarket one. they also make a REAL COATS light grey colored duckhead. the grey one is for aftermarket and nice oem wheels and is the better choice

    The black duckhead I have has not broken since i got it and am still using it so quality is good and i use my tire changer on the daily aftermarket and oem rims. I have the light grey one which is a coats but dont like using it. Thanks for watching.

    Great vid showing a great machine. However, the mode you used for that particular wheel is actually incorrect. The outside mode for that application is tape 2. Tape 3 is for older german vehicles that would use a tape weight outside the face of the wheel on the lip. If you notice the white indicator on the mode selector between tape 2 and tape 3 is indicating the wheel face.

    I tried this and as soon as I plug the rpm wire into the tach it kills the engine it is a different tack as well but it shouldn’t be a problem?

    What year is your Toyota? The electrical setup may be different, but the tack shouldnt matter.

    Where can I get one of those bead breaking tools. I just got a small sledge hammer & this is what I had in mind but didn't know it until now. I've seen lots of tire changing videos lately & this is by far the easiest I've seen.

    I am thinking about fitting a tachometer to my 1997 Toyota Hilux as l live in Australia and we are right hand drive and the ignition coil is in the same place as yours l will need longer wires and my fuse box is in the right hand foot well also the dash board doesn't lend it self for fitting a tachometer l will be looking around maybe a small digital tachometer

    @@rollingtreads8201 Well been from Australia its right hand drive and which means were it will be mounted it requires a long piece of wire ll will be pulling the whole dash board out to fit another head unit maybe do it then

    Tried it with low profile tires? Is it significantly better than the stainless steel one? I’m thinking about upgrading mine.

    ive removed and installed alot of low pro tires, runflats, where i thought the mounting head would break or just not do the job but since the video ive had the same one on and works way better than the steel one. It doesnt damage the rims and doesnt cut into the tire beads.

    I have two ranger tire machines. They both initially came with the plastic duck head. But we've found those to be flimsy when you're prying hard against them when dealing with stiff tires. We have installed the metal duck heads that came boxed with the machines and it's much better than the plastic. Our Ranger metal duck heads do come with plastic inserts that do protect the rim. I thought i share our experience. @@rollingtreads8201

    isnt there a better chance of the duckhead slipping off the rim if it has play like that?

  • @rollingtreads8201
    @rollingtreads82012 жыл бұрын

    I've had this set up since the video and have not had it slip off or cause me any problems. The first time I did install it I assumed it didn't need any play tightened up so there wasn't any movement and almost damage tires and mounting head.

    The only thing I could find you were doing wrong when you were taking the tire off using the tyre lever you don't use the pointy end you use the end with the bend on it you use the pointy end for putting the tire back on especially if you have very low profile tyres I only know this because I did tyre fitting for 20 years as for the cover protector I usually find that they are good to leave on because you do occasionally get that the machine may try to cut the bead but being a new machine it would have to take a while for the duck head to wear but when using that higher lever if you were putting a tube in it you would never use the pointy end to put the tire back on because the chances of you pinching the tube are very likely

    Excellent Video! It deserves more than just 68 views as of Jan 2022! At very end, for just three (3) sec of still-frame, he shows details about the high-quality tools: Ken Tool Curved Tire Spoon, and Ken Tool T45 Tire Iron tool, and the Hand-Held Bead Breaker tool. Where to buy those please?
