Not sure where "most agree upon 81 lb*ft plus 1/4 turn" comes from. When the VAG torque specs are listed at 70 Nm (51 lb*ft) plus 1/4 turn; for all of the M12 x 1.5 bolts used for the subframe.

hi joel, after you filled it up from the top, did you have to open the drain plug again to let the extra out?. also how long did you let it idle till you tested the gears

Hey man, I doubt u will reply to this but i changed my fuel filter and when i went to open my door i heard something leak and next thing u know i had a massive fuel leak any help? I’m planning to try fix it tomorrow but i cant sleep lol so i’m internetting for help

Hey Joelkswagen! My ‘06 GTI has that loud rattling sound in the idle. And then now when I step on it a bit the car kind of skips a tooth then goes. Is my timing belt & chain off a tooth? Or the tensioner/ adjusters are the cause of the rattle. But my chain is probably worn down so much that my timing is starting to skip a tooth. Can you help me? I’m scared to drive it. To the euro shop only 1.6 miles away

Or I might have a boost leak. The clamp on the turbo intake is too large and I spun the hose it cracked the seal that caked itself so now I’m experiencing slipping.

The factory method is a pain replace the snorkel and gravity feed the oil in takes forever tried warming the oil ,waste of time so I pump it through the filter housing

Sir can I suggest, I do the same but bought a transfer pump from Lidl in the uk where I live ,it clips onto the battery terminals and I took out 4.5litre so I pumped back in 4.5 litres took about five mins.

middle muffler delete is just enough, and put custom back end muffler, there is two of them, going full straight at the end then its too loud.

My clunking was a sway bar bolt under the subframe (audi a3 2005) the bolt wouldn't tighten up fully, the other 3 did, I just replaced all 4, clunking fixed :)

A word to the wise, be careful removing those lines. If you have depressed the catch properly they should slide right off with very little force. If they are sticking or hard to pull off, don't force them. Push them further on to the filter first and then try again. If you break those clips or crack the plastic, they have to replace the whole line. If you crack it on the fuel tank side, they will probably have to pull your fuel tank to replace them.

Does this method not assume that the dsg fluid was filled to the correct level previously? What if it was over filled before and you are just overfilling it again? Also, provided that the fluid came out after the initial drain plug was removed, does that not mean that it was overfilled? As it should have dripped out had it been filled to the correct level?
