Nice one bro 👍 👍 👍
Please fix your audio, it's not stereo.
Hi Postbreak, is there any feedback you can give us on the audio please so we can try and get it fixed. For example, is the audio too loud, echoing, etc. Thank you for watching our video! 🙌🏻
@@KMBuilds Yes please duplicate the mono right audio so it's stereo on both channels. Not sure what you're using to edit with but it should be easy to do.
@@postbreak unfortunately we use iMovie to edit our videos currently and this does not seem to be an option within this software. If you know how to do this in iMovie it would be a great help for us to know but it seems we cannot do this after looking into this more online. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hopefully can get this sorted for the upcoming videos 🤞🏻
Love the mirrors and the mounts dude♡
Thank you very much woody!
How did you get the n/s seat belt behind the panel as that isn’t hollow like the driver side. Also how are the seat stays (black red bar) fixed. Cheers 👍🏻
Hi Casey, the N/S belt took some work to get to fit. I had to dremel a cut out of the material that was in the way of the seat belt position. I missed this in the video unfortunately. But, I found cutting a slice down the one side and then forming the metal backward to create room for the belt helped the most. Just be careful with this as the outside panels of the van are behind this. Just remember to paint and protect any metal that you expose by cutting or drilling to prevent rust. Good luck! 🤞🏻
Did you use a spot weld drill bit? If so what size
Hi Casey, I used a normal drill for it all. Most of the spot welds I ended up riveting so I needed to drill straight through anyway. Just be carefully not to poke through too far with the drill to not hit things such as the fuel tank. Areas that were not being riveted I just took my time to ensure I did not drill through the metal behind the panel I was removing. Hopefully this helps! 🤞🏻
Just got my panel out & I’m ready to cut the front of the side panel to fit. What did you do with the 3 tank bolts? Cheers
Hi Casey, probably best to message us on Instagram be easier for us to guide you through the process and answer questions
do you think tiger seal could hold the mirrors to standard glass?
Potentially, but probably not advised!
Orite boyo, I'm not a million miles away, port talbot, I done my seat conversion 6 years ago but welded them in I'm about to do another one as just got a new van, any conversions for sale locally
Hi, sorry for the delay! Not that we know of..
The ol girl turned over! Premium!
Where you from? Seen you coming from my way 🤭
South wales!
@@KMBuilds same for me!
What's the best way to contact you lads about buying parts?
Contact me on Instagram pal: @MattDurman
Nice to see it all staring to get somewhere keep up The good work Might just be me but the mic volume seems all over the shop not very headphone friendly sometimes it’s ok other times it’s cracking and deafening
Thank you mate appreciate it! Doubt it’s just you, we have had some mic issues which Ken then adjusts when editing. So appreciate the feedback we are looking into some more expensive ones. Do you happen to remember what point in the video? So we can pinpoint it! Hope your enjoying the series
Nice one lads. Good to see the progress! I've started using a 50:50 mix of acetone and atf fluid to get rusty bolts, nuts off/ out. Has proved to be a proper life saver Better than any penetrating fluid I've ever used
Hey, thank you very much! We may have to give that mixture a try
Great to see the progress, I love it! Keep up the hard work.
Thank you very much! We really appreciate it!
So this is a 1000cc replacing a 660cc engine? Will you have to cut into the tray and have the top of the engine exposed? I have seen a few Japanese drift car builds where they have put motor cycle engines in. They go through a lot of tweaking to get things balanced. This is a channel showing steps they have taken (unfortunately in Japanese but subtitles are there) www.youtube.com/@43ch/videos
Hi Pal, yeah that’s right although it’ll be a lot more bhp compared to the stands 35! We aren’t sure if we will have to have the engine sticking through the top of the bed until we start to frame everything up. Thank you for the link to that video, we will take a look over and hopefully it will be of great help!
damn how do you only have like 330 subs, your production quality is really good. keep it up mate
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope you’ve subscribed 😉!
Yesss ❤
See you at the next one! ♥️
great video. have decided on a caddy in the next month or so. torn between the 2.0 diesel and the 1.4 tsi but leaning more towards the tsi. the plan is to get this conversion done but with a bulkhead behind the rear seats. will also be using for work and need the rear to be ventilated. thoughts? is it possible to get all the needed touran bits nw from vw? also, are you not worried about the hard lines in the centre getting crushed?
hey! is this a service you offer? looking to get some seats installed! thanks! R
Hi Rhodri, this currently isn’t something that we offer unfortunately. If there is any other way we can help then please let us know. Thanks!
Nice one lads! Just got myself an 85 acty the other day so great timing stumbling across your channel! Looking forward to seeing how you get on and great you're keeping bits and bobs. Might have to hit you up for some parts if I need them as seem a bit hard to find otherwise. But looks like we've got similar ideas for the builds so be interesting to see how they pan out. I think I'll get some use in before wanging a new engine in mine.
Defo give us a shout if you need some parts! happy to help out. Be interested in what you have planned for yours?
@@KMBuilds legend, thanks mate! As ever it starts with big plans, motorbike engine swap, jap style racer truck. But at the moment I just want to get some use, so working with what I've got and not have another vehicle sat around half done for bloody years 😅
Good on ya saving everything you could , hopefully help a few people out with some of those spares
Thank you! We are hoping that it'll manage to keep a few more of the honda actys on the road
Nice going.
Thank you!
my caddy is the same colour, and 5 seats, from factory, saved a lot of hassle and streetlegal XD BUT i would change the double+single seats to 3 single like you have ANYTIME. removing the doubleseat is a pain in the back and in the ass -_-
Hi do you need to mot after to have it Road legal ? Thanks
No I don’t think it means you have to have a fresh MOT just for doing this. As long as it passes the next MOT you should be fine. You definitely do have to notify your insurance of the change though. Hopefully this helps! 🤞🏻
Nice work! Looking forward to work on the other Kei truck now.
Thank you! We are super excited to start work on the white truck. What do you think we should be doing first?
@@KMBuilds Strip it down and get the chassis perfect. Rust free and painted to stop it in future.
Good video lads nice to see some Uk Acty content 🎉
Fair play boys great work 👌
Thank you Dan!
Is it possible to buy the mounts somewhere or is all of it custom made?
It is all custom unfortunately sorry! We may decide to make some kits or sell the design in the future so make sure you stay tuned! Do you have any feedback on the design?
Hi mate what size rivets did you use?
I believe they were 5/6mm rivets. The bigger the better ideally!
@@KMBuilds thx did you use any panel bond
@@Haydzx-tn3gy yes we did, as much as possible on all contact areas. That’s one part I believe was missed out of the video unfortunately
@@KMBuilds do you remember what stuff you used I’m gonna do mine this weekend
Tiger seal or any strong bond should be okay!
KZread algorithm will kick in anytime now!
Hopefully! 😂
I would have enjoyed watching your video, but I find your choice in "music" offensive.
@@richardbedard1245 yeah maybe the algorithm doesn’t like the intro
@@pb6839 quite possibly. We are looking at improving the intro so hopefully this will help 🤞🏻
@@KMBuilds I’ve got a blue ha9 so I love the build. I’m sure it will happen. The production is good so it’s all about consistency.
When I rescued a 1999 Toyota Camry which had low miles it said I had to get one or two quick inspections and two or so police offices in California. I noticed they have some comical posters on their walls related to law enforcement and traffic issues. I thought a good police comical poster would be based on Odepus Rex by Sophocles because he killed his best friend (because of road rage) and "Loved" his mother. "Drive safely or else you might kill your best friend and `love' your mother". Saw plenty of kei cars in Japan. Keep in mind Japanese are actually usually not very tall so to most of them Kei cars aren't that small. Being an inch short of 2 meters I'm just a tad above average. I remember when shoes I had fell apart while hiking and went to some shoe shops to by a pair of shoes USA size 13 or 48cm and the shop keepers just laughed at me.. which wasn't helpful. Amazon.jp came to the rescue!
Glad that worked out OK. The blue Honda might be nice as a flat bed. Would a lift make it possible for a bigger engine?
Thank you! Yeah was a lucky one that we managed to have everything turn out how we wanted. Not too sure to be honest. We are 50/50 on breaking the blue one so we learn more about how they are put together
your local cops said it was then register it !!! AT least they gave you a letter saying it ok to re-register it !!! same thing I have to do with old sleds and quads I buy !!! and some cars in the past !!! to be able to resell them !!!
Good idea, well executed
Thank you Dean!
who knows, nice edit btw
Thank you! Hopefully some great things 🤞🏻
@@KMBuilds I aswel hope great
Looks like a great purchase.
Thank you Keith! Hopefully we can help some local people out too now with some hard to find parts
Another great video boys. If you ever want a mint Acty on the channel I’m based in south wales and have a good truck 👌🏻
Thank you mate! We will definitely have to arrange something in the future! Do you have Instagram? If so, what’s your @? We can follow for the future (can also see photos of the truck then) 👌🏻
@@KMBuilds I do buddy @midlife_mike 👌🏻
If it came from auction it was likely sitting for 15-20 years! Maybe even more. So nice of you to give it a second life.
Wow! Hoping you can end up with a minitruck each!
One each would be ideal! 😂
Can’t beat getting another truck Id do the white one but keep the blue one for now at lest as a reference and there’s bound to be something missing from that lot on the floor to complete it
That’s what we thought! Maybe learn from stripping the blue one but the white seems a much more solid shell
If only you had a ramp in your workshop would save all the working on the floor 😂
😂😂 If only.. sadly it needs repairing at the moment so stuck with the old fashioned floor and axle stands!
P R O M O S M
Class boys 👍🏻
Thank you Mike! We can’t wait to get into this deeper. Some exciting things to come 😉
Little steps are great. When this is completely done it is going to be awesome.
Thank you! Hopefully we can start to dive a little bit deeper once a few of the basic things are out of the way
Those are sick.
Thank you Thomas! We don’t do things by halfs here
Ther awesome as well
Im restoring a 1981 acty finding parts in the uk is a nightmare
You’re right! Finding parts in the UK is a real nightmare. Keep an eye out for one of our up coming videos. May be of interest to you regarding parts…
matt only knows the real job...
What do you mean? 😂
Good progress!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Yes boys!! 🙌
Rust, that's the problem with these trucks.
Seems so Keith! We’ve got to decide what to do. Is it worth restoring or look for another one?
Just found your channel! i love Kei trucks, looking forward to this!
Thanks! We are hoping to make it a good series
Looking forward to this. Seeing old things transformed is great and especially Kei trucks. I have a Suzuki Carry on the way from Japan.
Thank you! Hopefully it’s a decent series. Lots of work due on the kei truck 😂 When is your Suzuki carry due for delivery?
@@KMBuilds current series DA16T with a lightweight tipper, so it looks like a standard truck. Supposed to be here already but been having a few hold ups at port. Crossing the fingers for it to be here around Xmas.
