    I actually installed a backup camera by wiring it to one of the red marker lights for power. The receiver/monitor them plugs into a cigarette lighter in the cab and connects wirelessly. Works great.

    Great video! Probably the best I’ve found on this topic. I’m in the early planning stages of a DIY outdoor fireplace & pavilion project. Planning to permit everything but anxious about all the red tape. Can you elaborate on why the inspector refused to permit yours as wood-burning? I’d like to try and anticipate any objections they may have. (I assume it may have been an issue with standoff distance from the main dwelling or the fact that it touches your pavilion?) The only major difference in my plan is that I’m going to purchase a pre-engineered outdoor fireplace unit (FireRock or Isokern) and build it out to my dimensions with block. My pavilion will also be a separate structure, not attached to the house. Also might use double insulated metal flue inside the chimney as an extra safety measure.

    What happened with the camera

  • @WillMosbey
    @WillMosbey22 күн бұрын

    The camera still works but on that aftermarket grill there was not a front camera mounting spot like with the original grill. So it "rigged" it the best I could. When I put the truck in reverse the front camera comes on but you can see some of the letters from the grill. I find that I rarely used it anyway so not a big deal to me.

    I've recently bought a set of these and have two major issues with them: 1. I live off a gravel driveway and these things collect rocks insanely bad. I've had to start carrying a small right-angle pick to get the rocks out so I don't pepper everyone's windshields once I'm on asphalt. 2. Two of the tires are out of round and even with a perfect zero-balance, they shake terribly above 65 mph. Unfortunately I bought them off of eBay and can't get them warrantied. Other than that, they stick to the road like glue in dry and wet. They are very stable tires and do a great job of taming bumps, staying planted in hard cornering, stop very well under heavy braking and do not seem to hydroplane in standing water. I haven't driven them in snow, but with the high silica content, unique tread pattern and abundance of siping, I can imagine these tires would perform extremely well in snow, slush and ice.

  • @WillMosbey
    @WillMosbey22 күн бұрын

    I guess I haven't experienced the gravel thing because I don't go on gravel that much. Very rare. Weird that you got a couple of tires that were out of round. I've usually had good luck buying tires off ebay. You are very correct about how well they grip the road on dry pavement. The cornering is way better in these vs the RT. And yes they do great on wet pavement. Thanks for your comment!!

    Recently put some Radar Renegade RT's 35x12.5 and love them, but like you, the road noise can be a bit much already. I wanted something big to fill the fender well but realizing having that much tread has its downsides as well. The next set will most likely be the AT Pro's like yours. They look great and obviously get the job done just fine. Thanks for the update on the AT Pro's!

    Hey Will, thank you so much for putting this together. It is the most thorough herringbone address sign tutorial that I've seen on KZread (and I watched a ton). I followed it almost exactly, except our house is white & black so I painted our sign white with the black letters & trim instead of staining it. I would recommend adding the verbiage for "address sign" for the KZread alorithm. It should net you a lot more views. I am forward to watching more tutorials from you!

    Some Tiny House trailer models have a perimeter flange where the exterior walls are anchored and supported. However, a perimeter flange has the potential to facilitate thermal bridging since an uninsulated corner is formed where the subfloor and exterior walls meet. This vulnerability causes condensation to form inside the living space. In order to maintain a consistent insulated envelope a Tiny House will require a trailer with a full width subfloor, built within the trailer frame, that extends out to the space usually occupied by the vulnerable perimeter flange; eliminating any uninsulated corners.A trailer with a full width subfloor is preferred to eliminate non insulated corners. Trailers with uninsulated perimeter flanges or outriggers maybe susceptible to thermal bridging between the corners where the perimeter walls and subfloor meet with the potential to form condensation near the inside corner the Tiny House floor.
