Guid auld Aeburdeen - what a place, a city that's a 10-minute walk from my home. Been here for 28 years since joining the oil industry - I'm originally from the small town of Stenhousemuir in Central Scotland. But Aberdeen? It's got everything you can want: great bars, pubs, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and many beautiful historic buildings. Oh, and very, very nice people!😄😄😄!!

No dress code. You can't wear that in California beaches. HI you can though as no lifeguards.

Am seriously considering retiring in Portugal

Never been to a water park or on rides of any kind. I wouldn't go on them now at 55 I'm to old anyway.
Water parks can be a lot of fun, but it's never too late to enjoy new experiences if you’re up for it! Everyone has their own pace and preferences. Sometimes, just relaxing by the water can be great too!

@@RelaxedRoamer Thank you very much for the welcome I had the opportunity to pass near Norway when I was sailing, and I crossed the Skagerrak Sea south of Sweden and Norway leaving the Baltic Sea. I had the opportunity to go north along the Norwegian coast and stop near the town of Bergen. Then I continued my journey north above the Arctic Circle.

So depressing town, the main street is still under reconstruction, other streets are blocked, this is not what you see every day 😢
The city is indeed undergoing some redevelopment, which can sometimes affect the usual charm. I hope the changes will ultimately lead to an improved experience for visitors. I appreciate your feedback! 😢

It sounds like Northern Europe might not be your ideal travel destination, and that's completely okay! Different places appeal to different people. There’s a whole world out there with diverse experiences waiting to be discovered!
As I see it, there isn't much to see and do in that little city...
Bergen might seem small, but it has its own unique charm! It’s known for its beautiful harbor, historic Bryggen district, and stunning surrounding fjords. You might find that its appeal lies in its cozy atmosphere, picturesque views, and cultural sites. If you get a chance to visit, exploring the local sights and taking a stroll around the city might reveal more of what makes Bergen special!
