There's a reason home invasion is so much more common in Europe than in the U.S. The U.S. is a much less publicly violent place than most other developed nations.

Be aware of old compressor tank , they go rusty inside and a timing bomb , some worker have been killed by air compressor tank burst , best is to proof test them before to use and make a visual inspection with an endoscope. Nice video thanks

The Russians used this method to produce power for radios with a finned device that went on an oil lamp - later they would do it with nuclear ingots for lighthouses which became problematic with the decline of the Soviets and some 2500 plutonium billets scattered in remote sites

That receiver was damaged from a liquid spill, it did not do well. The damage was extensive. You made the good choice and scrapped it for parts

If you mounted the heatsink device on the chimney on the roof of the cabin would that work? you'd get nice cooling from the natural breeze i'd imagine, or verse vica you could somehow submerge the cool side heat sink in liquid to speed up the heat exchange process.

I had a car that would shut down momentarily every few minutes. I replaced everything I could think of (I was away from home), doing a short test drive after every attempt; but the problem persisted. Then I noticed that when I drove in a left-hand circle the problem went away, but when I turned back to the left, it came back. I finally found a wire that had been mis-routed over a metal line, and which had worn completely through the outer wrap and inner insulation, shorting against metal line. Some tape and rerouting of the cable made my trip home much more pleasant.....

Nice! Our plasma cutter at work has a ring which fits around the nozzle with two little legs on it which run along the job, to keep you about the right distance from the cut. Perhaps this would be a useful addition to your setup.

Awesome skills MR.Post..but it also is a big help to know where to get some cool stuff. Most scrap yards in the US will not let you fiddle around the stuff, because of course some clumsy goof is gonna get hurt, because somebody already did. I got the knowledge to fix stuff because like yourself I could not afford to get it new.Sometimes you can really luck out. Fixers have an entirely new meaning now.Fixer is a guy that 'fixes' the troubles the Big Boss got into

Have you thought about pressure lanterns or stoves - Coleman , Tilley, petromax, wenzel. They run on anything that burns and are gas powered light bulbs pretty much using a gas tank and a carb to meter gas and air to produce heat and light . Last forever as well. Project ideas I thought I would share with you that makes content and doesn’t kill the wallet typically! Kinda goes along with the KZread name ! Thank you for your videos!

When I was a teen loved railway models. Had H0 scale from Piko, but as a young lad there were four things that stopped me from collecting and building dioramas. It was space, money, tools and believe it or not - patience. Also those metal toys you had to put together with screws and bolts. Thats a blast from the past.

That triple piston compression pump is reminiscent of a design by an italian guy named anzani. Although I presume it's a domestic German version because why would it not be it maybe a collectible. Might wanna look into it.

Old or not, the plasma cutter that will cut 16mm steel as easy as this won't be cheap, should be at least a couple of thou. Very nice work.

I enjoy watching your videos and experiments. Way over my head and too late to learn at 72 years old. I was a welder for 40 years and really enjoyed what I learned while welding. Now I have a couple of welding machines that I need to repair and was trying to see if I could gain any information on KZread. It would have been nice to learn the electrical side of the machines I have used. Keep up the great work and teachings, much appreciated Sir. Paul Greenlee

6 years on I havejust bought a 'real' welder and trying to gain as much info as to how they function. Not good at electronics and was rebusih wjen it came to physics at school so how things move about etc is only understood at a very basic level. However even I'm impressed by how much imformation I actually understood in this video. I will be watching more in the coming days..

Great job diagnosing and fixing the problem with the blown fuse on the plasma cutter! Thanks for sharing with everyone. I hope many of us learn a lot from your well thought out process. Excellent! I also love it when I find such treasures at the scrap yard! I bought several pounds of stainless steel TIG filler rods at scrap prices once. The bolts and nuts & hardware you got were a bargain, I love it! I would have struggled to keep it so limited, and would have bought more than I could ever use. 😁
