    I took apart a microwave before, not much is dangerous if you know not to touch random wires and stuff. And of course it is a good precaution to discharge the start capacitor even though it has a bleed resistor.

    Thanks, I like your video! Here's a youtube video I want to share with you and everyone! The title is : Continuous Electric Display (CED) In this video, I will do a short demonstration of a new analog display technology, made with static electricity. It is a technique that uses the Jacob's Ladder effect.

    anyone becoming interested in taking a microwave apart after seeing this: don't. these things are super dangerous. one little slip and you're going to fry internally and burning from the inside as your heart stops and you can't breathe, all while feeling your insides getting cooked by the kilowatt of power these things can put out. if you want to play with high voltage, and you know the basics, i recommend the electric fly swatters or disposable camera flash circuit board. those are low current and low power and will suck to get shocked by but not likely to kill you, so much much safer to mess with. the limit of what i would recommend beyond that is a neon sign transformer. the smaller ones are probably still fairly safe. can still kill you but not as instantly and aggressively as the microwave ones. mostly due to those having limited current output. the neon transformer will be more like a stun gun, where the microwave transformer will be like the electric chair. hopefully that makes it clear why you should just stay away from MoT's. even taking them apart WHILE UNPLUGED has resulted in people dying. they have a capacitor inside that stores 2 kilovolts. touch the wrong spot and you can get that discharged through your body faster than you can blink. confidence kills. people who fear things generally survive. when people become too comfortable with something that deserves respect, well, they often make the silly mistakes that results in involuntary cremation. i hope i made the danger of these things clear. enjoy these from videos, and let other people risk their lives. cheers

    1. I did already, and planning to play with it more. 2. The capacitor is unplugged. 3. The capacitor has a 10 MΩ resistor in it. Unless you know how this shіt works, of course. But I ain't any trained professional. Lol.

    @@douglasdbird8114 1. Warning 2. You're not going to make a spot welder with a microwave oven transformer. You need to modify it to output 4000A instead of 4000V (I'm not an idiot, I know that MOT outputs 2000V, learn about voltage doubler). If you won't, it will simply make arcs. Oh, and of course: 4000A at 1V can't kill you even if you try to. Don't believe me? Then it's time for u to learn about a special formula: I=V÷R.

  • @ame7165
    @ame716511 ай бұрын

    @@danek_hren yep, the warning is for the tons of people that watch videos that don't warn about the dangers, and they go in unprepared and die. plus, older microwaves can be found with no bleeder resister, so you can't always count on that to be there. and the older ones used some pretty gnarly materials for the heat wicking part of the magnetron that releases some dust you do not want to breathe if you break it. most new ones moved onto safer materials but old ones ya gotta be a bit more careful with

    you are wrong at the end, it is not 21kV. and it is certainly not 1kV per 3mm, that's only if the electrodes are sharp and pointy. that looks to be at least 2 or 3kV. 21kV would jump at a 7mm gap. not sure why people think stretching the arcs until it disconnects, gives you that amount of voltage, that's not how it works.
