Ok now i feel comfortable hopefully i get into usc it's my dream school for a while and is it a problem that i apply in my junior year? I also got good stats like a 4.0 gpa and a 1600 sat and a 36 act and i also took 8 ap classes with score 5 each, so can i still get in when i apply in my junior year or does it even matter weather it is junior or senior year bcs my stats are good.

I realize that I have to study more, it's march 16th and I've always been the student that is like "I don't have to study much" and I do well. But that's not going to work now I noticed, hopefully I can make up for the times I didn't study much for the AP classes.

I've got rejected from all those schools. I was the best of the class in molecular biolgy, immunology and oncology, published papers and yet rejected in the PhD programs I've applied.Seen her getting admitted just like that makes me feel so stupid that I'll quit science it doesnt worth giving up more time that I have already threw away (7 years), I'll find a shitty job with shitty salary and stay there I guess...

Dude don’t give up like that, while I have no clue how it works in the US, in the UK PhD applications are very different to undergraduate and masters. A lot of the time, it’s the first person to reach the desired requirements for each project to get in (closer to job interview than uni application). A lot of luck is involved between a lot of extremely smart people. You could’ve just got very unlucky last cycle.

@@Liecho it's ok, I do not live in the US, in my country, the minimum salary is about 300 dollars more or less (depending on the inflation), and that is important because applications have a fee of +$50, so applying to 6 programs is way too expensive for me, and if to that cost you add the TOEFL exam which has a cost of $200 and sending the results have an extra charge of $20... I'm done with this... I do not have the money and time to keep applying, ho and in my country students found their own projects this means that there is way too hard to get access to research experience, at least not if you use your own money as I did, which was a terrible mistake. You live in the UK, good for you man, pls make your chances count, as statistically, you have way more opportunities to get admitted than me.

It's not a big deal if your school doesn't have AP classes. Just make sure that you are taking the most rigorous course load that your school offers (especially in classes that relate to your intended major).
