Red get your point up and on line Notice how he's forcing you to react, and then you have to make a swipe at his sword and follow it with a cut every time you ckose, and all he has to do is crouch or step back and extend his reach to get in a quick thrust? You could solve all that by not pretending to be a Ninja, Mind, Yer, Tip, Boi

This could make networks a lot of money. For the first 2 minutes, they could run commercials.

I don't get it. So it's pretty much fencing and has nothing to do with fighting? Fun sport I suppose.

Watching two very skilled people playing cat and mouse is boring. That's why I never liked the upper tier ultimate fighting. I prefer less skilled folks just going at each other.

They kept giving the red side points even when he didn't make a hit. While he made for more hits overall, I think the judges were pretty one-sided in this match barely giving blue any credit when there were stalemates. 3:03 It looked like blue got a hit on red and didn't get any credit at all, red got the point. 4:20 he got a clean hit on red but it looks like red received points for no reason.

Aggression and decisiveness is even promoted in the old manuals to the point that those without the stones to take the initiative should reconsider the sword. To feel each other out a bit first with a test lounge or faint is fine but an entire minute of circling is ridiculous.

Honest to God, this is why this so-called sport has only a dozen people attending. It's worse than watching a game of soccer. If they pulled their eicks out and started sizing them up like they're doing with their sticks, it really couldn't be any worse 🙄 😴😴😴

Buddy in orange was such a poor sport throughout. Dropping his sword for someone else to pickup while effectively getting skunked seems like such spoiled, entitled behavior. He deserved to lose.

in my opinion as a historical fencer, orange was a better sport than black , black used excessive force multiple times to the point of bending on a feder on that dude. imo red was acting condescending towards blue for being a noob / having cheaper gear, also black fencer threw at least two unfair afterblows

I guess it was not uncommon that both sword fighters died in a fight back then. 3:33 and 5:11 was such an attack.

Oh yeah. There was even mention of it in some histrorical fencing text I think. Basically if the opponent is willing to commit suicide to get a hit in, he will get that hit in.

Ponderous, .. n confusing. If it include body armour, then how does the scoring account for cuts outside the protected area? Maybe the fencing format is better, i think epic foil or sabre concept of tournament is more realistic.
