The big private hospitals in kifissias avenue are meant for wealthy people who can afford huge bills. We hear these names whenever a politician is hospitalised or a celebrity has a baby. If you are working or middle class you go to a public general hospital or maternity hospital. They are not so beautiful looking, and the service is much slower, but the actual medical services and staff are equal to or better than private hospitals. So if you are a foreigner living in Greece and you're not wealthy avoid private hospitals.

All these cases are interesting but nobody talked about the right of residence. Julian's Mother is Greek, vso she has the right to obtain Greek nationality. Nicoletta is Italian so she has the right as an EU citizen. Aimée is presumably no longer on a student visa, coming from Mexico she is not automatically qualifying but she mentions her husband who perhaps is Greek or from another country in the Schengen zone. Olivia does not mention her country of origin, the name does not give much away, her accent is Eastern European and there is no other information about her right to live in Greece. I am not an EU or Schengen Zone passport holder. As I see it, the difficulties for people like me if I wanted to apply for residency are considerable unless you have €1 million Euros to invest

What I like about Toronto and North America in general is that people from all over the world are making it happen. When I lived there I experienced goodness and generosity I have never seen in Greece. In Greece the sea, the weather and the food may be great, but I would be careful with the people.
