Learned drown proofing at my old secondary school, here in England, in the 1960's. Lessons were conducted in the school swimming pool with a mixed group of boys and girls being instructed by the teacher who was normally solely us boys' PT/Gym instructor . In addition to our normal swimwear, the girls were told to bring along old nightdresses while we boys had been told to bring along old pyjamas. We intially learnt how to float and bob-up for breathe wearing just our swimwear, but then learnt how to do the same with either a nightdress or pyjamas over the swimwear. The opportunity was also taken to demonstrate how much more difficault it was to swim fully clothed by having us all swim a couple of lengths of the pool wearing well-sodden nightattire over our swimming trunks/swimsuits.

A couple of stretchy gym headbands work well for this. Very easy to get out of, or just hold one with your hands. I use them in my films, looks like I am tied up solidly but is just an effect, stage prop.

Liked and subscribed - please can you do a video where you see how long you can keep your eyes open underwater for? I've been told water confidence training is even harder without goggles, and I'm curious how long you can keep your eyes open underwater for!

Therefore what you are currently practicing for is light fetish play in your own back yard pool. Nothing wrong with that, more power to you, just call it what it is.

When I learned that we used a cut-up bicycle innertube for the tied-up test. It was stretchy rubber that was easily tied & untied & wide enough to not cut off circulation. They had us hold our breath & just float still underwater, kicking up above the surface when we needed to breathe. I thought it was a lot of fun! Hope you enjoyed it too! 😃😃
