Looks a hell of a lot nicer then previous Boox. But if the notetaking software still isnt close to the Supernotes, still has an asymetrical border, still has weak pen magnets and for some reason has a worse folio than before I cant think of a reason to get it. Ill just wait for the A6x2
wrong spelling ?? comprimises ??
I’ll stick to my iPad mini 😅
Could u please recommend a better EMR pen for the go? Could you make a stylus comparison for the go 10.3?
Klido 3 and E ink color screen is simply a downgrade for readers, they sacrificed readability for washed out colors
The Tab X works much better for this, because it has BSR. I also have a Dasung, but the BSR makes the Tab X far better. I wish they made a larger monitor with BSR.
They should be able to fix the ghosting through an update - the auto refresh just needs to be capable of actually refreshing the page instead of needing to manually do it. I have yet to have a device with BSR, so I can't offer any experiential feedback on that one 😅
Does the BOOX eReader (I think it's called neoReader) open side-loaded epub files (and allow handwriting annotations)?
@@frinktl9716 it does yeah.
Just to confirm, are you able to use a web browser on the Boox Note Air 3C? I use a web based writing software I'd like to use on this device. Thank you.
Yep, you can, and the browser works well because of the BSR. 🙂
boox super refresh
Off topic: Something you may appreciate, as an artist. On the Kindle Scribe (the best ereader IMO..) Practice drawing faces, and figures, using the "Loomis" method, by downloading the "Drawing the Head and Hands" as a PDF, and then drawing directly on the pages, much easier to learn/follow along. Also, it's really fun loading PDFs of black-and-white Manga or graphic novels and getting creative either by re-inking artwork or adding to the illustrations. Honestly, probably the most fun I've had drawing in years. This is better than any sketchbook I've ever had, or tablet for that matter. It could be a fun video to make, I think it would inspire a lot of people.
OR, find some pencil sketches by your favorite comic artists, load them up on your Scribe as a PDF and have fun pretending you are collaborating with them by doing the inking/line work. The possibilities are endless. I really wish you could just create custom notebook templates on the scribe, these are great use cases.
Unrelated to this video but I want to thank you: you inspired me to get the Boox NA3C after eyeing the e-ink market for many years but feeling overwhelmed and worried about cost vs utility. Your reviews convinced me It was best for my needs. It arrived yesterday and it's even better than I imagined. The colour is worth it. Now I just need to rewatch all your videos about it. 😅🙃
I'm interested about battery heating cause hours continuos usage and possible active wifi cause online webtoon and webnovel reading
I'm thinking that BSR and frontlights are best for color e-ink and you can skip both for black and white. I don't think the Page has BSR. I didn't see it in the specifications.
lots of annoying and useless talk, practically damaging for the promotion of thé product
This would be my perfect reading and writing device, but only if it had a light.
Couldn't work out which one was which in your review.. you should make that much clearer
I used to have the boox Air 2 and I was struggling with organizing notes that I take on the go during the day , which e ink tablet offers the easiest and most straight forward way to move notes between notebooks..like for instance opening a side window with a tree of existing notebooks to chose the one you want to move your new note into either by copy paste or drag and drop or whatever ?
P.S. Kit Betts-Masters, I love your authentic "in-depthness" - excellent work, mate. Joe
Question re: Kindle app on Palma. When I download a book from Libby to the Kindle app on my iPhone, and then turning on the iPhones accessibility feature, that will speak the screen, I can listen to a pretty natural sounding voice read anything that's on the screen whether it's text messages or a Kindle book not an audiobook, but a kindle book, and there's only a very slight pause for the page turn. I can turn off the screen. It just keeps reading, and I can listen to a downloaded Kindle book, again, not an audiobook, and it's wonderful. I'm wondering if the Palma in the Android OS offers a similar feature to read continuously anything on the screen, in my case, again, it would mainly be kindle books. Thanks in advance for any comments. Joe
Question for everyone: did you buy the black one or the white one? I'm always drawn to the white product (e.g. certain Kindle models) but I read in bed at night a lot and I have a feeling like the white bezel might be distracting when reading in the bed, in the dark (I mean, no lights on in the room not the dark mode; I'm not a fan of dark mode whatsoever), while black just disappears into the darkness of the night as I read in bed. Any thoughts on this? I work at an Apple Store (I admit I'd love to be reading on the white model in the break room and bet you many of my peers would as What's that?) and on certain iPad models, like and often they'll want white and I say OK I'll have that run down to us - and they'll say wait, do you have a preference? I say yes, black, citing aforementioned how if you read in bed at night it just disappears. (And I don't recommend any backlit screen for "real" reading in bed at night -. I always recommend the Kindle Paperwhite signature edition because it has the wonderful auto adjust golden front light loveliness so easy on the eyes. Owners of the white model, do you notice the white bezel when reading in bed in darkness? Also, bravo, so wonderful when someone does an actual in-depth review. I was a tech book author (For Dummies, game guides, etc.) and journalist for years for many outlets, and at one of those outlets, the New York Times, the motto was while way may not always be the first, but we strive to be the most authoritative. (Some of the top tier tech journalists would get product in advance with ample time to live with the product.) All experiences welcome, and also re: battery life if mainly using the Palma to read. Cheers, Joe
And for each page (note), an infinite scroll ?
Ive been looking at getting an e-ink tablet to help with uni. I was originally looking at the remarkable 2 but this has turned my head a bit. Which one would you say is better? A feature im particularly after is being able to convert hand written notes to a word document/word document text.

Nice quick tutorial. I've discovered that if I create a link to a note, but only use the icon option (not icon and title), then I cannot edit the target notebook - don't know if this is a bug. However, if I create a link in a note to another note, but use the "icon + title" option, then when I click on the link, and go to the other note, then I can edit it. Strange.
I like the kobos as a mass market e-reader, it is simple, supports sideloading, straight-forward, can do everything natively. I'd get it for my nan (not literally cos she's been buried for 2 years, but I'd recommend it for someone else's nan). I'm a techie though so my Boox 10.3 Go is the love of my life.
Such a great channel! It has helped me a lot in comparing between the different alternatives. I've decided to go for the Boox Go 10.3. Are there any third party cases out there yet? Is the BOOX Pen2 Pro compatible with it?
Thank you for the head to head Euro-like matchups - brilliant context to bring all recent e-ink devices of note back into the fold. Question on the A5X (and A6X2)... have you ever tried to 'sideload' OneNote? Assuming refresh approach of Supernote at present would make such an effort somewhat problematic? aka - extremely laggy inking experience? Do you think this may be addressed w/ forthcoming A5X2? I imagine this is more of a MSFT issue vs. Supernote. Cheers!
I really want to order one from amazon but I'd prefer to wait until I see some long-term feedback. I've heard that Boox are very fragile and they often have have screen problems if you use them too much.
Isit really an upgrade from SN A5X?
Design/Style must be a category
Great video
Hi Kit, great channel and great video as always. I've been using a Rocketbook and although I like being able to take notes with pretty much real paper, use different color pens, etc... I don't like their app and how inflexible it is when it comes organizing the notes. Therefore I'm looking at eInk devices. I'm very intreagued with the Note Air 3C, Tab Ultra Pro and recently was even enticed by the Go 10.3 (but as much as I could consider giving up color, I don't think I can give up an SD card) I have two questions. 1.) I have an old Samsung Tab A tablet. If I want to test out my proclivity to actually use a tablet as a note taking apparatus with my current tablet, which app would you suggest that can give me a similar experience to how I would be working in a Boox ecosystem? 2.) I've seen the way that notes are listed in a gallery type view,(large thumbnails) I was wondering if Boox can display in a detailed list type view. I basically would want my notes to be able to be displayed in a similar fashion as windows Explorer shows files and folders. Hopefully with a tree diagram on the left side. I find this method best for me to organize files? Thanks for any info and advise.
I use the insta360 on my hat, it has better stabilisation even with me running and better possition for first person view, even in car 👍
@@gReed16384 thanks for that. Gotta try that!
My only issue that inknpads are getting too close to being ipads with apps.. i just need pen and paper … i think they need to work on searching for handwritten text
Does it supoort multi colors and highlighter
An aspect usually left out is text to speech. I understand why, most people don't use it. It is only available on Kindle devices unless you do a work around. To me that's a big deal because I have dyslexia.
How can I buy a super note. They are not delivering to India.. please help..
Can it open a webpage in full-screen in landscape orientation?
I was rhinking about getting the color tablet from Boox. Then i saw a video of this one and thought, maybe i dont need the color. But when i realized this didnt have an SD card, it gave me pause. What are your thoughts on 64gb only?
Almost all of these e-ink devices fail in their ability to fully sync with third-party cloud storage sites (e.g., Dropbox). They either require you to move the files you want to access into a spcial folder or restrict access to download. At some point this restriction needs to be addressed for these to be useful in a professional setting.
Another great video Kit. I must say, I love the Go 10.3 - the massive biggie for me was the closeness between the pen & the ink. One thing I have always struggled re Boox with is the Library. I would love a video to see how you use yours, how we should use ours and how to deal with all these files. As ever, most appreciated.
What do you recommend for literally wanting Handwriting to text and reading books on occasions. Mainly for handwriting to text for work? Thanks
Loving your e-ink videos as ever. Ever so tempted to change from the aging Remarkable that I’ve had since 2020 for the Go 10.3 - from the reviews am I right in thinking that with the equipment in the box by default there is no way to undo/erase without using the toolbars (which is a little disrupting in a workflow) ie no eraser and no undo gestures? The remarkable double tap is so effortless!
@@NickWebster0 Hiya, thanks very much. Yeah, there is a scribble out gesture called "smart scribe" works pretty well.
@@NickWebster0 you can also, ring with the pen and it does a lasso without selecting the tool.
@@KitBetts-Masters oooh, I missed that little gem! I’ll take another look! I’ll have to sleep on it until I decide to betray my Remarkable 😀
This is one of the best ereader channels I've come across. Very easy to consume/listen to. very well produced
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Glad to have you watching! 🙂
